I Took Flash Airlines from Sharm to Luxor one month before the crash. The airline was without a doubt a little sketchy. On Arrival to Luxor; as the plane landed many eastern Europeans stood up on roll out and started opening overhead lockers Crew spoke Egyptian and English but most of the passengers spoke neither. When they started yelling to people to please remain seated, the crew were ignored. On departure later the same day the captain was smoking in the flight deck as we boarded, with the flight deck window open.
@@HIOAviation In hindsight I wished I'd paid better attention to everything after the accident. it was almost 20 years ago now. The Cabin Crew were efficient but not incredibly friendly in my mind. On the return same day from Luxor to Sharm there was frustration from the Cabin crew as the English tour groups of which we were part had been told to take their seat assignments from the morning outbound flight. The Return boarding passes did not have seat assignments given. But the eastern European passengers treated it like scramble seating. I don't remember which aircraft Registration it but I noticed the plane had the name "nour" on it. I had a photo I'd taken. I was still using a film camera then.
Ho preso entrambi i due aerei della compagnia un anno prima dell'incidente. E' stata una delle poche volte che ho avuto paura di volare. Erano delle bare volanti
Thanks Chris, yes I've been flying again for the past three years now :) It has definitely slowed me down production wise but I hope to get them out more regularly than the past year :)
Yeah I can believe it, I had to work a flight back to the UK from the Caribbean, it was a full flight barring two empty seats and everyone on-board knew why those two seats were empty (the couple on their honeymoon got murdered during a botched burglary). It was a quiet flight back...
Have you got new equipment I can hear a difference I always enjoy your videos wonderful greetings from Scotland 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 my bosses niece is based at Heathrow and is cabin crew for British airways she loves the A 380
Hi Ian, I got new equipment around two years ago so have a proper set up (prior to that I was recording the audio on my phone and editing it on PC) but have tweaked it a little recently so maybe that is the improvement :)
Yep I've got them on my ever growing list, I do want to do them soon-ish as I of course have a bit of a narrative with several other ex-Virgin operations that I've already covered :)
Didn't the pilot of 604 get his PPL from a Cracker Jack box? "Disorientated because it was DARK?" What did he think the cockpit screens were, a playstation?
Hehe erm nope, ex Air Force apparently but perhaps they only undertook sorties during the daylight, or used Mirage's in which case they'd never be seen in battle...

Interesting, any idea if the plane you were on or any of the crew members you saw were in the crash?

@@rosser95 hmm would definitely be cool if that photo was ever published, regardless thanks for sharing

Great video! This was a real who's who of forgotten airlines.
Great video Phil. Hope we get another soon
Thank you, I'm already working on it :)
Another good show Phil! Lots of research! Kudo’s.
Thank you, much appreciated :)
Would love to see a video about Livingston Energy Flight, which was also another interesting airline that you don't hear much about anymore.
Yes they were an airline which intrigued me back when I saw one of their aircraft sometime around 2004, I'll add them to my list :)
Well done Phil. Are you back in flying? Been a whiile since your last production.

Awesome video Phil. Perhaps a video on the recently dissolved LIAT?
Thanks :) Yes I will be covering LIAT in due course :)
@@ExpoAviation Can't wait for the next vid. Always a pleasure listening to these while on the commute :)
Do a story on the downfall of Flair Airlines and Bonza Airlines.
I remember hearing the story of the one occupied room at the hotel.
The hotel staff when opening it started crying...

Ha. This was one that I had completely forgotten that it had existed
You could say it was "a flash in the pan" ;)

I only knew about this airline when Air Crash Investigation done an episode of the airline’s crash in 2004.
Yeah I'm sure that is the same for most folks, I only heard of them because of the crash at the time.
Phil, have you considered a vid on Virgin America? Thx

Any chance for Air Plus ( Spain) and subsidiaries? Please….🙌🏻
Yes I will be covering Air Plus Comet soon :)
It looks like they painted their planes with tippex and a sharpie 😂
