Some 3000 miles clear on the other side of the country is a community that is the flip side of Ptown, weather-wise. But the same accolades have been attributed to it: Palm Springs, California. Sand dunes and artists with 120 degrees in the summer. Summer in Ptown and winter in Palm Springs for those who use seasons as verbs.
telecasterbear gotta be smarter than that, buy your booze at the liquor store and throw it in a bottle or travel mug lol. We'll grab a few drinks on the deck somewhere, but if you wanna keep the party rolling ya gotta drink smarter not harder. That's what my wife and I do anyhow.
I went there a few weeks ago for the town wide yard sale. It was absolutely amazing. Stores had epic storefront sales and the garage sales had the best stuff. They have it every year. It's so worth going to.
5 minutes ago finished to read land's end, curiosity pushed me to loook for images from P-town.Sensation about this place, that the book gave me is confirmed!!!Visit is a must!
Arts Dune tours was a thrilling ride and tour. I found myself in love with those dune shacks and wanting to HIDE in one for the summer. The whole of Ptown is fabulous.
I owe a dear friend for her generosity in showing me around the Cape and it's glorious beaches. Oh my, isn't P Town wonderful? Like Trish Page said above, "I'm packing up!! On my way!!"
Absolutely nicest place to be on the East Coast in the LGBT friendly many events planned welcome here even in the winter and went to the Harley finally great for shows
Catalina Collection and Steve Rambo Fan Club has introduced me to Provincetown. I hope to visit P-town one day when I get the chance. Seems like a cute town and nice folk.
I remember at the end of the summer I lived in Provincetown when Norman mailer was making that movie with Ryan O'Neal and Isabella Rossellini tough guys don't dance she made all of the local extras in the movies
Something about this town has captivated me since I was a child. I’m watching this video and my obsession has grown stronger lol ♥️ Beautiful, just beautiful.
Provincetown is a Beautiful Place, but you can't tell the full story of Provincetown without mentioning the Native American Tribes that inhabited these shores long before the Pilgrims landed. At the Pilgrims Monument & Museum is an updated exhibition that tells a more complete story of Provincetown.
A whole lot of nothing. My cousin lives there year round and one year I decided to stay up there a few days in February. There were only a handful of places that were open. The nice thing was that it was so quiet (and it was perfect for seeing the stars at night), but it's so deserted there I think I would go insane if I lived there in the winter.
@@xoxoxoxoxo7997 Yeah I thought I would too but after only staying there a few days I was already starting to get bored. It takes a special type of mind to be able to handle that, especially if you are more used to urban or even suburban life.
If there are any American Horror Story fans reading this you'll be happy to know that Season 10 will be taking place here and it looks as though it'll be centered around Lovecraftian type sea monsters.
So you did a piece on P Town and didn't talk about the gays at all. The gay beaches, the gay parties, the gay houses, the gay culture, the gay lifestyles. That would have been so much more interesting then talking to some guy on a dock quoting his granddaughter about her pigtails. Maybe talk about the men walking the street swearing pig tails as tails.
How can you talk about Provincetown without mentioning the Portuguese who built the town with its fishing industry and still own the banks, restaurants etc there? Portuguese culture permeates every corner of Ptown. The guy doing the Dunes tour is Portuguese. Ridiculous idiotic piece.
That's the result of Anglo-centered culture of the U.S. I'm certain they have tried to paint us (Portuguese) as Anglos. Provincetown is actually more of an expression of Roman- Latin culture. The first Europeans to accept the reality that Europe was not the center of the Universe . It is small, at first glance insignificant, while at the same time eclectic, cosmopolitan and lest I forget, oh, so accepting!

the pilgrims first landed in ptown, but when they learned how expensive the drinks were, they set sail for Plymouth.

One of the top special places in all of America.
I loved that detail about how the doctor traded treatment for art.

If I win the lottery some day lol. I will visit, I love how it looks.
I was just thinking that!
I'd take any town on the Cape.
@@Kellyd2024 I don't want to go to Europe, too dangerous anymore. The United States has alot of places to see.
All of Mass. is unaffordable and highly taxed.
It is a one-of-a-kind place - put it on your bucket list 😊

I have been to Provincetown many, many times and have never seen anything different about the light there than it is anywhere else.
Maybe you haven't been looking at the light.
And Mary Oliver. ❤️

I will forever associate province town with where Anthony Bourdain got his start.

What do they do during the winter months if most of the businesses are closed then?

The gays scared off the pilgrims😂😂😂
They grabbed their bibles and took off, only the priest stayed to perfect their technics..........
