Free attacks his own nexus at 11:51, seemingly to prevent all the interceptors from going back into the carriers and taking longer to redeploy. He does it again at 13:23 to pre-deploy the interceptors before going to attack the tanks.
Man, ive watched thousands of hours of starcraft brood war, and im firmly in belief that protoss is the race to play if you want to win with minimal effort. Such an easy, cowardly race to play.
ForGG is an interesting case because he went absolutely bonkers for one tournament, beating both Flash and Jaedong, who were already Starleague winners back then, and then became mediocre for the rest of his career.
Feel like if he'd known JUST how low patches protoss had at the end he could have stuck around. But hard to say he should have known that somehow. Imagine if he'd picked off that 9:00 base just 30-60 seconds sooner.. that lost mining would have been that many less interceptors availble, likely gg earlier!
That + I feel like he over extended towards the end. Goliaths didn't trade as efficiently once they were getting surrounded by probes. They'd have been massively out scaled by the large number of SCVs.
I totally agree, if hed known that the carriers were actually unable to completely fill up a final time with interceptors he might have hung on and made just a few more goliaths with the long distance mining. But he would have needed probably two full rounds of goliaths to fight the remaining interceptors, and Free would have used his remaining ~10 probes or so to long distance mine from the 3rd on the highground most likely. Hard to know.
I think Forgg could have continued there. Free was completely out of money at his 3rd and would have had to long-distance mine. Forgg had I think 3-6 or so Goliaths at home and was producing more. That is enough to hold off the 15 or so interceptors that were left.

I don't remember what ForGG played as before but I think the issue for Twitch in Korea was that they were getting charged more for bandwidth then AfreecaTV or something like that.
@@tdring10681 South Korea has a "sending party network pays" (SPNP) system, where ISPs get paid both by the customers they deliver traffic to and by the company sending the data (e.g. Twitch). This is in addition to the money the sender pays their own ISP to get an uplink to the internet. As a result, Korean ISPs have also begun forcing foreign content providers that same fee, or an even higher fee, which makes it unprofitable for them to operate in Korea. And it gets even worse. In South Korea, it is the responsibility of content providers to ensure durable access to their content, not the responsibility of the ISP. Apparently, even after Twitch reduced bandwidth in Korea (max 720p resolution), it was still losing money hand-over-fist. This was somehow supposed to reduce costs on the consumer, but the opposite has happened. South Koreans now pay much more than they did in 2016 for similar data, and their mobile data is among the most expensive in the world. Honestly just a terrible policy, and unfortunately Twitch is hardly the only service that's going to leave Korea or seriously degrade its quality there.
danggggg that map so rough, only way to get carriers with only gols is through positioning to corral them rather than be led by. on blitz there's that huge space north and south of main platform so you have to make decision of staying on walkway, forcing them deeper into your base on top of your infrastructure, or walking around, opening up the walkway to escape. best take away is Free has a scary good poker career in the wings when he decides to hang it up. pulling probes to body block vision of his bottoming out mineral lines, bluffing strength by obscuring vision with his empty stacked among the handful of carriers with 1-2 interceptors, bluffing as if the carriers were making or waiting to make, even though we saw the carriers didn't make, and wouldn't make.
1:30 From what I know, Koreans can have a twitch account, they just won't be monetized and payed by Twitch Korea, as they longer exist. I still see Korean streamers bypassing this by linking their donation accounts to Paypal.
I don't understand why he left BW couple years ago when he got qualified for ASL once and couple times for KSL. If he continued practicing he could reach deeper runs, he really needed to ditch SC2, I mean you can't switch from SC2 to BW and then back to SC2, that never works and some players are "made" for BW. Just like FanTaSy who never accomplished something in SC2, but cameback, practiced a few games and took out Bisu and JD on Saudi tournament and then vanished again...
Damn what a game. I think terran gg'd to soon. Float his main cc to minerals he was long distance mining and build a vulture or two to kill of long distance mining or force the toss to split his forces.
No, because carriers have 4 base armor, and interceptors are immune to valk splash damage. Pros have tried every theoretical counter, and mass gols is the best answer.
fucking nice. i was watching forgg wreck everyone in sc2 right up to the korean twitch ban. his multi tasking and multiple simultaneous attacks were so ridiculously good, hope that'll translate back to sc1
Why the hell do they keep fighting interceptors when there were many opportunities to attack the carriers? Interceptors are cheap, resistant and infinite as long as prot has minerals.

FroGGe
I remember him for blowing up all his medevacs against stepahano. Good times
I think we all thought he was called Frog-gg or something like that at some point
That was an intense finish to this one.

WHAT IS CORRECT RESPONSE FORGG TARGET CARRIER OR INTERCEPTORS ?
Protoss sees a lot of goliaths, only 2 tanks... then keeps building carriers instead of gateway units and reavers to crush terran army. Why?
b/c 2 tanks can literally hold forever.

HAHAHA. Sure
Seems like if he had lifted his main base to the third base as soon as possible he would have won if he just kept producing a second army

Wicked game. Carriers vs Goliaths always seems like such an uphill fight.
This ForGG micro slipped a lot there at the end, i think it was winnable
Back in Kespa days ForGG wasn't the most exciting player, but he's unique that's for sure.
Stop building gols and tech switch. It's never cost effective to try and win Carrier vs Gol. At the very least get EMP + Matrix
I’ve still never seen goliaths beat carriers. Ever. In the hundreds of pro games I’ve watched. Maybe someday 😅
Spoiler alert
Baffling.
Protoss wins because the probes needed to back up the carriers.

Twitch voluntarily exited the Korean market due to low profits. Don't think they ever faced a ban there. Do you have a source?
they weren't banned. the ISP's increased their fees to ridiculous levels.
