Tampa in the house!!! still waiting to get my Rev 7 but im already on the search on these. Thanks for the review. Hopefully I can just drive up there and get a set
Yesssssss broooooo 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 They came thru heavy !!! And they're super nice, I do wish they were a litttttttttttle bit thicker, But as I learned, too thick they are useless. Cheap and dope so no worries at all And I envy y'all in Florida for real hahahaha Hope all is well brother !!
Thank you all the way from thhe uk.. i just recived these from henrys customs and they are great... one plastic sheet on the bottom with one of these on the top.. "perfect"... for me that is. Feels just like a turntable now... cheers buuddy for your recommendation 👍
Yessss man !!! Exactly same way im running it. Some people have now said chop up a butter rug, I haven't tried it YET, Cause this works perfect me as well But I'll prob do it, for science, Soon
Great video! I also just received my rev 7 and I only have one plastic slip ring on each platter. My issues: 1) I don’t like that plastic on plastic feel/sound. When the music is off, you can hear plastic grinding on each other 2) backspin is not as slick and easy as the rane one. The rane one is so smooth you can backspin 3 revolutions with ease. The same force on my rev 7 only gets me 1.5 revolutions. How are the new slip rings with both of these issues? I ordered mine right away after coming across your video, they just shipped but haven’t arrived yet. Thanks bro!
Ya man !! I hope I talked about that. It's soooooo irritating. even tho I'm sure it's fine, it sounds like nails on the chalkboard. It's really sad they decided to take that route. I've definitely put alot of hours on it now, and it is FIIIIIINE. Just annoying. I got some new slip rings from the dj plug that work great, I doubled it up with a plastic ring and it feels really nice now. I wouldn't say it's what I want yet, but it feels alot nicer. I was hoping the new rings would be a tad thicker, but with the 2x rings, it no longer feels flimsy/flexy depending where you catch the platter It firms it up a bit, but still not 100% I promise it'll start feeling better tho the more you use it. And when music is on, you can't HEAR the plastic (can't believe I even have to say that) No worries man !!! Let me know how it progresses for you I love it, def the greatest controller yet, Jist a little upsetting with the plastic.....
I plan on opening a wedding venue and want to be able to dj the events myself. I have no interest in doing clubs or anything like that. That said..all your videos I've watched so far have great takeaways. Is there one you can direct me to that will help me go from no equipment to purchasing and setting up everything? I know i want the Rev7 for sure. I need someone to take me under their wing! I have a Launchpad and Macbook Pro already. I just need to make sure I don't make any mistakes from here on out!
That's what's up !! I'm just out in Cuba but that's a great idea I do have that kind of content in my private group, But maybe I can cook something up for RUclips Did you have the spot already ? If you're brand new I don't think you really need a rev, but that being said it really is the best of the best, And than setting gear up is really straight forward Considering you'd be the owner of the venue and gear, You have alot better options of creating built in options, You might want to connect with an av company to find out the best options It would be a few day long conversation over text here and I don't know the space, With audio there are alot of rules for sound As a dj I just work with what I can But if you're building into a venue you would for sure want the best sound everywhere which is something you might need a professional to come in and consult
Yea !!! It prob works nicer without it, I just am not a fan of the flex in the platter, Depending where you catch the platter, if you're in an odd spot where the clips aren't, I get this like, bouncy flex in the platter I just put that second plastic ring in to make it tighter/thicker if that makes sense ? Just a preference thing If only it was a millimeter thicker it would be golden And ya man, there's no other controller that even comes close currently
Got these based off of this video, and they were delivered today. Eh.. they feel and sound little papery in my opinion. A single slip ring that came with the Rev on each deck feels the best. Again, just my opinion…thanks for the vid bro!
@@miltonsmithjr9104 Yea that was my maaaaaaaaaain issue with it, The more I played with just the 1 plastic ring, the more it felt better and better, It's definitely a very soft touch, and have to go back to light handed for sure, a feeling im sure we have all lost The gentler I was, the nicer my cuts, But it still felt wrong in the sense of it was not like "secure" feeling, I liek the tighter feeling for sure
So do yall think that everybody will need to change out the slip mats because its "that bad" or will it just depend on the type of scratch dj you are?????
Ya man, honestly just all preference, What it comes with definitely works, I am just supppppppper picky, But honestly once the music is up loud and the party is going, I would never ever notice it. Definitely NOT necessary, and I'm sure Ill change it out for something else as well when something else comes out :)
wish I could make my rev 7 platters feel like the rane one. those feel much better to me. i've tried every combination of slip rings + dj plug rings and it just doesn't feel as buttery as rane one. can't stand the sandpaper sound/friction of the dj plug rings unfortunately. Anyone know of a solution that you have tested pls let me know!
Yea, theyre just a tottally different feel And honestly, the more I play with the Rev, it grows on me everytime. Something I have noticed is that the Rev feels ALOTTTTTTTTT more like Technics did. The Rane's just have to much torque and pull that there is no reason to be soft handed anymore. With the Rev, you gotta be a lot more gentle Pretend like you have a needle on the record that you can't skip But as for other solutions, nothing yet. I'm still using 1 slip ring, 1 plastic ring, and it's working out really well now Luckily I can't hear the sound anymore cause the music is always on 😂😂😂
@@TheDJConnect Mine units feel the oposite. I have to apply more force on the rev 7, while the I don’t on the rane one. It’s weird but in my testing: Technics: good friction but buttery rewind that doesn’t take much force to backspin Rane One: barely even friction and you Can back spin easily 2-3 revolutions with minimal force e Rev 7: good friction but requires the most force to backspin, and you only get 1.5 - 2 full revolutions at the most
@@warrensid Interesting for sure I haven't acutally used a rane one, But I definitely have the Rane 12's, And now I think I get it, Yea the Rev most definitely has the most "friction" as you say, But the motor itself is way less powerful, and I run mine on low torque as well With the Rane 12's you have real slip mats and no friction, and its only held on by that spindle, So def alot easier for rewinds, But scratching wise, the motor in the ranes will blow away the rev The rev has a very low torque feel Sometimes when mixing you have to push the top forward just to catch up, and thats almost exactly the same as techs I'd say
DEFINITELY WILL TRY THIS!!! Do you have this setup this way? I forgot to try this version too, Feels pretty nice as is, but def need to give it the 100% test of everything for sure!

@@TheDJConnect I'm not sure what they sent me but they are thin, paper feeling pieces of junk. When I put the rings in, regardless of the combination, they are LOUD like sandpaper.

Quick tip. Place your platter sticker in-line with the notch on the bottom for easy removal/replacement of platter

Def pinning this
You dont think it's better to just put the sticker on, say in the 12 oclock position on both platters?
