I just wanted to buy a good padlock. I had no idea I had to be a locksmith to use these locks.

Just a pro tip. IF you put the Z bar in without the black dot showing it will chance the function of the lock to release the shackle from the lock body for replacement of the shackle. HOWEVER whatever you do NEVER remove the core when the shackle is completely removed otherwise you will need a special tool to fix the lock.

Hi, My house is keyed to Schlage. However, I have two fences that need padlocks. I looked but can't find Schlage padlocks for less than $50. Can I rekey an Abus padlock to a Schlage key so I can have just one key for my property?

Yes you can. You get to choose the key/key-way when you buy an abus.

So my wife recieved her flu shot while pregnant, right after giving birth she was diagnosed with GBS. Only problem is, that was 70 days after the receiving the flu vaccine. Is there anything we can still do?

Bricked the lock when taking out the chamber- would have been helpful to know how to avoid that.

You're really doing a lot of work that's unnecessary. The keyway/cylinder has a big window on the side. Simply push in on the detent pin and rotate the key all the way around and you can get at the pins. More importantly, you avoid the problems of (a) possibly letting the detent pin go into a pin hole, essentially bricking the cylinder and (b) dealing with the little channel that the retaining ring goes into which will catch pins and make replacing the cylinder difficult.

You beat me to the punch for sure. It's as if he's completely ignorant, or unaware that there's a pinning window on the 83/45, and that unless he's going to change driver pins too, there's no need to take out the cylinder.

Thanks for the video. I seem to be stuck. I fumbled using the follower to remove the cylinder, and the #5 key pin & spring came out. I movedd the cyclinder back, and now the one cut blank won't turn the lock. All the special tools I have available are what come in the Schlage 40-132 kit. How do I remove the cylinder now?

我的興趣是觀察 driver pins are all the same length. They can remain in the core while rekeying

Unnecessary with the pin window on the side of the cylinder. Disassembly to the level you did is just a waste of time.

You don't have to take the lock apart to do this! If this guy doesn't know how to rekey an Abus he should have watched another video before making this one!
