RM used to stand for Rap Monster, though RM has changed the meaning of his stage name since then. The name is Joke, and it is low key a diss track. Some people might tell you that it is name’s Joke because the lyrics are all nonsense and that is the “joke”, that he was telling all the haters “look I can do the same thing you do, rap fast and a sick flow and not really say anything at the end” but no. It actually means something, it is just a little messy and THAT is the joke 😂
It is just structured differently to how he normally writes his lyrics, jumping from one idea to another, going back and forth throughout the song. He’s criticizing other rappers that said he couldn’t rap fast and that idol rappers are not real rappers. He’s also saying how those rappers think they are the greatest with their mediocre rap but in reality they envy him and his profitable career path. He is basically just showing off really, rapping fast while changing his flow again and again and still displaying his usual clever wordplay. Regardless of the wordplay though my favorite line is when he just makes an obvious jab when he says “You’re a bastard who can’t even rap more than three characters” and then goes on to demonstrate what he means by rapping “Bibidi babidi bubidi babidi, nimini namini, jikimi jakami”. This song is a real masterpiece.

The name of the song is “Joke” by Rap Monster. Although he use to go by that name he outgrew it can now RM stands for Real Me, being that he has grown to just be himself and love who he is. He doesn’t just define himself as only a rapper. This song was for the underground haters saying that because he left the underground rap scene to be an idol he can’t do what they and they claimed he isn’t a real rapper and has betrayed hip hop. hi! i know youve read alot of comments about subtitles already but just wanted to say as someone who knows eng as a second language plus no korean at all, the subs always help me better understand their words and thus their music. If the official video doesnt have eng subs (the older mvs wont have it, their company put eng subs on newer releases) then it'd be good to youtube out another subtitled video which will have this song

ARMY understand it's not easy to read and watch the mv at the same time so a lot of reactors either watch it twice once for the visuals and another for the lyrics or they watch a separate lyric video and then the mv. ARMY don't mind watching it all as long as it's genuine. With BTS, the lyrics are as important as the mv. If you are serious of learning about BTS listen to army's(bts fan base) they will help you along the way. It is a deep rabbit hole, you have no idea of the respect, appreciation and love you will have in the end of your journey. ❤
So idk if you know about this but
almost all of BTS’s content (songs, MVs, concept photos, trailers, short films and webtoon) follow a story line. This storyline is called the BTS Universe (BU). There are also other references and themes throughout their works intertwined with the BU. I think of BTS’s content as a complex ven-diagram. One circle is the BU and the others are the specific eras(aka album release concepts) that sometimes overlap. These other eras (that many times overlap with the BU) all come from what the members are personally dealing with. There is more info on these eras in the BTS 2020 crash course video. Because everything is so intertwined please react to any explained video out there by DKDKTV, bookish theories and/or xCeleste, they do great in depth videos.
