- Silver Quarter Hunt and Album Fill - $100 FV in Silver Quarters
I went to my silver dealer and purchased most of his available Silver Quarters. He had just over $100 so I figured that would be a good bag to grab for a couple of reasons:
1 - add to my silver stack
2 - try to fill a silver quarter album
Knowing that he rarely picks through them, I decided to buy them in hopes of maybe scoring a better date or two. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to fill so many slots in the book! We also were able to add some SLQ's, a Barber quarter, and a few better date coins to my coin collection and coin albums from this purchase...
In this video, I will search through all the old Silver coins from the bags. I will be looking for key dates, semi key dates, upgrades, and of course and varieties within the years I hunt.

A Roosevelt Dime set would be nice. It is one silver set that a modern collector can put together without breaking the bank. I have built several over the years.

Rob you can find the date on the Slick SLQ's with Silver Test Acid. Kinda like Nic-A-Date. Don't leave it on too long. I used it on mine and found 1923 on my slick SLQ.

Rob Yes, I enjoy filling spaces in albums. Unfortunately, as a coin collector and not a stacker, filling any album to completeness is a quest, with usually a few unfilled spaces left, as most key dates cannot be found in circulation and must be purchased at hefty prices. My Washington Quarter book IS complete, but only after decades of searching, going to coin shows, and many large purchases.

Yes, more. Mercs, Rosies, and Franklins would be cool. The SLQ's, Walkers, and Barber's are usually too worn and imo not that interesting.

Any album fill from "junk" silver (or junk coins lots like your Buffalo haul yesterday) would be cool. Barber dimes, quarters or halves (or all 3) would be entertaining if you can get a bulk purchase of them.

i liked this hunt and fill never watched a quarter hunt where you almost complete a whole album in first hunt
i did the 32 to 2021 wash crossing ... that is a boat load of quarters with all the proofs and silvers and all the misc they added after 98 ... but it was alot of fun ... finding a place to store it is the next challenge
It is always fun to see coins set in an album. I reminds me of long ago when my dad brought home coins from his job as a toll collector on the NYS Thruway. He would buy coins from his drawer for me from a list I would send with him. of course this was before 1964.

Wow! That was fun! Though I love watching and learning about the fancy coins in your auctions, I have decided that I’m more of a silver stacker, not a fancy coin collector. I just want silver no matter what condition it’s in.(Though someday I hope to own a fancy Peace dollar. Oh yeah!😃)
Great to have "a guy" that sets you up with this stuff! Building relationships with banks, LCS and gold and silver dealers goes a long way in helping build a collection/stack! Awesome start to the book, great hunt and fill series.

An excellent hunt. Found a penny find today, a 1920. Already have it, but was nice to see something that wasn't a 56.

400 quarters very cool!
Maybe it's just me, but I find many Roosevelt dimes to be quite stunning. Could be they aren't as heavily used/circulated as the other denominations. Would love to see more videos like this!

Very cool! You’ve inspired me to dig through my junk silver quarters to start a similar project. Previously I had filled a Whitman folder of 1948-64 Washingtons but I know I have several from the ‘30s and early ‘50s and could probably get a good start on a full book.

I think the 1948 D coin in good condition that you pointed out actually has a S mint mark.
