University of Oregon's Snap AR Scholars Promote Nonprofits with Augmented Reality Storytelling

  • Snap AR Scholars, a UO School of Journalism and Communication (SOJC) student organization made up of designers and researchers, created an augmented reality storytelling experience to promote the nonprofit Hope for Haiti while building content-creation and research skills they can use in their future careers. Faculty leader and SOJC Assistant Professor of Immersive Media Psychology Danny Pimentel describes the program, which teaches students how to build AR content without the need for coding experience, and how to research the effectiveness of their Snapchat lens.
