just a clarification about the shadow dance/symbols of shadow macro, when you said " you would want symbols on a separate keybind because sometimes shadow dance may be on cooldown but you want the extra energy" it doesn't matter because symbols of shadow is off the GCD so even if shadow dance is on cooldown if you press the macro you will still get the symbols buff...
Yes but there are times you want to symbols and not dance just yet, sometimes you do it just to get energy to build CP's, shs kidney healer then go back and dance on the target.
yeah but i still prefer to keep them seperated. i kinda count on that extra energy for focus stun or shit like that.. idk its just me. but then again i got razer naga i can bind all these buttons + shift + ctrl.. :D even tho i prefer not to. I kinda find it confusing
That's why I don't understand the backstab/shadowstrike macro? I just put backstab on regular bar, button 2, and shadowstrike on stealth bar, button 2 so the tooltip/icon changes when I'm dancing or stealthed. Another way of seeing subterfuge/dance is still up too :)
If , for some reason, you're getting ganked by a group of assholes, in legion they made it so when you start casting your mount you stay in stealth until the end of the cast. That's the only time I could think of when your cancelaura macro hurts. Of course, you could always just hearth to Dalaran and the same thing happens; you won't come out of stealth until the very end of the cast instead of the beginning like before. This is just a small thing, but I've found it to be such a great change for basic quality of life type stuff. Say you accidentally aggro'd a bunch of mobs and don't feel like fighting them; Vanish>>Hearth, or Vanish>>Mount without being interrupted mid cast. Love it.
Great video! I have keybindings i'm comfortable with but i think a lot of them are pretty bad or not as good as they could be and struggle setting up focus macro bindings ect any suggestions?

Not sure i understand the point of macroing Shadowstrike with Gloomblade - when you go into Shadow Dance it swaps bars anyway. Just need Shadowstrike and Gloomblade in the same slots on their respective bars. Then you don't need two Gloomblades. Unless you're using Gloomblade during Shadow Dance for some weird reason.
Supposedly it helps with stance swap lag but idk. I know in beta it was necessary cause they removed stealth bar, then later added it back. Maybe they'll change their mind again in the future, doesn't hurt to have it :)
Probably should have a second Crimson Vial bind without Healthstone since you often use it while sitting in stealth or hugging a pillar and just need like 20-30% health :)
Yeah that's true, but if you're sitting around hiding at that point with no dots, you can just restealth 2 seconds later anyhow. I almost never have healthstones anyway besides rbgs :( Feel like if you're aware that you have a healthstone and aren't caught off guard by popping out of stealth you'd want to do it anyway for dem HP's and restealth 2 seconds later. Separate binds are ideal for almost everything though but not as convenient ;P
Like you said, it's all personal preference and doesn't have that big of an impact anyway. I just feel with all this ability pruning that's been going on, i have a fair bit of unused binds so why not just put some stuff in there :D

I tried to make one myself but didnt work. Like you said there is alot of bindings needed to play rogue and even on my razer naga i lose myself sometimes lol. I mained dh most of the legion just played my rogue recently cus its easy to get AP now and gearing is easy anyway. Ty for good info. Got yourself new subscriber. cheers
Idk if there's a way to macro cheapshot/kidney shot but even if there is I wouldn't do it, there'd be situations where it could mess you up I think :P Not always wanting to kidney shot if it's up, sometimes good to save it for later. Thanks for subbing!
I actually hate the 1 key :P Not comfortable to push frequently imo. It's good for things like my hunters explosive trap or mid-duration cooldowns, but I would never put a frequently used ability there.

how do you manage to not make the bars change when you phase into shadow dance ?
Personally I just have the same abilities on the same key bind for both stealth and non-stealth. I don't know how Tosan does it though!

Do you bind dance separately or always use symbols?

Why does the gloomblade macro make me /say the macro out loud?

You'd use gloomblade during shadowdance to bypass BOP/Ethereal form.
Fair enough, but you still wouldn't need a macro to do that. Just put Gloomblade on your Shadow Dance bar. Just seems superfluous to use a macro.

Tricks of the trade mouseover macro, it's useless in pvp though since we never take thieve's gambit anymore.
But you don't replace it? I mean, it takes up a pretty central keybind, "1" being very close to the WASD keys. What could replace it?
