Dec 2017 finished LVN (TX). Summer 2018 began the trans to RN program. May 2019 Grad RN, ADN. Plan to start a bsn program Fall 2020 and complete it by Aug 2021.
Hey your plan sounds very similar to mine. However I have been an LPN for about 6 years now. I am working on my BSN in Orlando, FL and I graduate in April next year. I can say being an LPN and working definitely gives you an advantage and a whole load of knowledge for your courses. Good luck on your endeavors you will be great!!
I love how you got everything all planned out girl. It all starts with vision! I’m on my last year of pre nursing classes i know how hard it is to get accepted . I wish you all the best
Doesn't matter what school you go to for lpn. However go the less expensive route with local tech schools. If you do ADN obviously you don't want to wait on a list with community colleges. As long as your school is accredited by your state board of nursing and you can sit for nclex and pass you'll be an rn. If you want bsn after adn you can apply to many online bsn programs that are regionally accredited as most hospitals are obtaining magnet status especially here in Florida.
Girl I have seen and heard it all, and they are all lies! Lpns are working in hospitals and 2year RNs are getting that bag!!! Ppl don’t know what they are talking about! I love this video, it gives future nurses hope that you can do it your way and not the traditional route, keep going Sis, you got this!!!
I'm about to go in to LVN program in profit school too. I don't have time to do prerequisites classes in community college. It's way too long and not guarantee you're going to get in. I can't wait that long but I'm planning to finish my prerequisites classes at my community college because I want to get in lvn to bsn bridge in public University so I can work in a field also pursuing further educations. Thank you for sharing your experiences thought. Love it!
I just started lpn school at ecpi university. It's very expensive. I didnt have to wait on a list to get into the program. It is 100% regionally accredited!!!!
Thank you for this video!!!! I’ve been looking for this video exactly!! I haven’t finished all my pre-req’s yet but I’m in a position where with this pandemic to keep my job security with the company I’m with now I need to be at least an LVN. Thank u for this video sis!
There are also several LPN-BSN options online. As long as you already have your prerequisites done, the BSN program should only take about 1 year. Good luck to everyone.
Doing the same thing! Been in a university for 3 years now and I changed my major and started taking pre requisites for nursing last year and start LPN school next month because I don't wanna waste anymore time either lol only plus side is I a lot of classes out of the way
Don’t waste your previous credits but cash them towards a BA/BS later. After your AAS in Nursing, pad your resume credentials. Then when you apply for a RN-BSN you’ll standout among other prospective candidates. What was your BA/BS major program in anyway? You can convert your former program to buttress your future BSN. For example, if in Psychology you could parlay this towards the foundations for an MSN-NP in mental health. In order to receive a BA/BS based on your previous degree program requires that the last 30-36 credits be completed at the new university of your choice. You only have to transfer your credits. For example, after transferring your previous credits to East Carolina University, take 12 courses & receive a BA/BS in Psychology. Within 3 yrs you should’ve the following degrees: BSN, BA/BS, AAS. Next, will be your MSN-NP and yes, that treasured DNP. Americans nationwide will be expecting you. This is doable!
We will graduate at the same time lord willing ❤️👏🏾 I plan to bridge right afterwards would love to find a LPN to BSN accredited program but they are scarce
I will be attending herzing hopefully in may for the LPN or RN depends on my teas scores.I tried attending a traditional college and I felt like I wasn't getting any where I'm almost 27 years old and I have my cna and medical assistant.I want more in life and hopefully start a family one day too.
Hi Hun ! I see where you are coming from , how ever , every program length differs from each other for an example , My LPN program is 11 months , transition programs where I am at is about 11 months as well , Online RN-BSN can be completed in 3 semesters as well ! It is all about your pace and how much you can handle ! Thank you for watching !
I don't get it. How can be done all three in 2.5 yrs when you said 14 months for LPN, 3 semesters (1 year) for RN, and probably another 12 -15 month for a BSN. That sounds like over 3 years already.
Rojak 123 lol , I did not say 12-15 months for a BSN , I said another 3 semesters for a BSN which is equivalent to spring summer and fall ! Or if you would like to start later , it will be fall spring and summer . Which is less than 12 months ! 🙂

Lpn to rn program should have an accreditation of some sort, if not u can't get financial aid and might have problems with endorsing to another state. Do not go to any of those florida school mills . Also do ur research, there are different accrediting bodies. LASTLY research never believe what they tell u, look it up for yourself
