1. Conceptual and wasn't just a piece of fabric that's fitted to her body
2. An amazing piece for the main aspect of the outfit, as the outfit was meticulously detailed to replicate the ren-age feel she was going for
3. Fit the challenge to a T and then some.
Don't try to tell me it wasn't even a "good" look, because it was way more than that.
it was a dress she already had with cheap accessories as an afterthought and a tapestry excuse so she could wear it...

She even had the blood on the tip of the horn, since unicorns are always being hunted in those tapestries and have to fight back.

I’m sad to see so many queens miss the point of Sasha’s unicorn look, it was a homage to the origins of unicorn mythology, medieval tapestries. Unicorns were traditionally all white and seen as both fearsome and graceful, she nailed it and it’s really upsetting that it couldn’t be easily understood by everyone.
True however the outfit overall did not go as a polished look.

YES! As soon as I saw it I thought she was referencing the Unicorn Tapestries. The white is because the unicorn is white in those. Sasha of course went for a reference from art history - whether it was successful for a sexy unicorn challenge, maybe not but it was the most original one out there.

I loved Sasha's unicorn because it is based off the Lady and the Unicorn tapestries from the Renaissance. The Gryffindor common room in the movies had them hanging on the walls. Loved the nod to art history from Sasha on that! Very clever!

shea's rainbow look had all the colors of the rainbow flag just in different hues. it wasn't as vibrant as everyone else's but it still counts as a rainbow look. this is what both raja and raven as well as the judges on the show mean when they say that the category shouldn't be taken literally. sasha had the unicorn thing down, but it just wasn't sexy just like most of the other queens weren't. that's it. if we really wanna get down to it, none of sasha's looks really fit with what an actually ball is while shea's actually did. sasha's looks were good, but it just didn't meet the judge's standards.

How can it not be vibrant yet count as a rainbow look? Have you ever seen a dull rainbow? I understand understatement and not being literal, but it still has to fit the category, and that dress, though gorge, did not fit "Rainbow". Yet you agree Sasha's look, which wasn't taken literally, deserved the Ls that it got because it wasn't sexy. Huh? "Rainbow" can not be taken figuratively because the essence of "rainbow" is vibrant colours. "Sexy", however is relative and can be played with more. Some people think long skirts and boots are sexy. Some think high-necked tops are sexy. To come out in a bathing suit, as usual (yeah Shea, I'm talking to you,) is predicable sexy. I don't have a dog in this race, so I couldn't care less, but let's hold everyone to the same standard.

Point blank: "sexy" is relative; "rainbow" is not. You CAN NOT throw browns, grays and blacks together and call it rainbow, but you can put on a turtle neck and long skirt and call it sexy. i really appreciate that you guys do a shoutout to the construction of shea's looks, she actually studied costume design at my college so it's her THING.

Sasha was a unicorn who just got out of a joust where she impaled someone. It was also heavily referential of the Unicorn Hunt motif that was extremely widespread in late medieval times / at the beginning of the Renaissance, and was probably a nod to The Lady And The Unicorn too. The motif of the white unicorn in medieval times is so pervasive, anyone from the UK would get it since there's one right up there in the coat of arms of the royal family.
If you don't get the reference open a damn book for once in your life because it was wayyyy more obvious than her rainbow look references.
I'm sorry but Sashas unicorn was sexy as hell! My first thought was Narnia! She looked flawless and that was the most creative interpretation of the unicorn on that stage. It was a clever unicorn 😉 Sheas was incredible too!

I feel that every queen has been just underprepared in some way this season, some more than others, apart from Shea and Trinity. Even Valentina who seemed like a front runner showed her lack of experience performing when she landed in the bottom. It just seems like a season of missed opportunity with so many talented queens with great potential not doing shit
Sasha has a very distinctive makeup style. But all the queens wear the same style of makeup. Unless they don't know what their own look is, they don't change from week to week.

Sasha's outfits are being wildly underestimated here. She's so intellectual, she tells a story with every outfit. To me, the unicorn one really told a story with that blood splatter thing on her horn, and even her acting on the runway (which I get could come off as boring if you don't look at it carefully) goes with that narrative and ugh, it's such a pity that some people didn't consider her outfits fishy enough only because she chooses to go with that highly conceptual (but also so stunning and beautiful) look.

lately we've seen a lot of new combos on fashion photo ruview, and honestly, i love this duo. Between rajas actually fashion knowledge, and raven's willingness to boldly say what she actually thinks instead of candy coating things, i adore them
There will never be any hosts of FPR as good as these two. Manila with Raja was good and Mariah with Raven was also acceptable, but no other combination will ever live up to the standard set by this amazing duo. I watch years old repeats and am always entertained.

flblbl In my opinion, in this case references don't really matter. Even though the dress was cool and had good references, the styling wasn't that great and the overall look didn't match the "sexy unicorn" challenge. It could also be read as a constrast between what we perceive as "sexy" and the concept of sexuality and modesty in the past, but that's not the point in my opinion. A look can be read in so many different ways but that's just something super subjective. I believe it has a point, it is interesting but visually is not as appealing as others. That's just my opinion though
oh it was definitively not the most gag-worthy look or most appropriate look for that theme (neither was shea's rainbow look tho), it's just ridiculous for Raja and Raven to boot it just cuz they don't know shit
flblbl actually, Raja has an extensive knowledge base in fashion. If you watch past Ruviews and check out her work outside of drag you will see that she is smarter than most about fashion! References or not, it wasn't sexy. Very cool and artsy, but not sexy.

Ive already forgotten most of Alexis' looks which says a lot in itself, but I just personally really enjoyed Alexis' rainbow look and can see why Raven also would toot it. It definitely wasn't the strongest but I disagree with the sentiment that it was the worst for that category.
