I broke my kneecap 11 years ago and the doctor wired and screwed it back together. I can’t get down for lunges…or genuflect in church! But I’m trying with better balance in yoga and teach line dancing twice a week. Life is good!
Great to have Julie in the video! I'm 70 and love to bike and walk but do feel like I'm slowing down. I've been trying to add more stretching and strengthening exercises to my days to help keep my muscles from being sore. Thanks a heap!
Thank you for the video. Nice to have Juli, she's really healthy lady... Keep good work. Hope we could see Bob again even saying hi to his viewers. Fast recovery, stay healthy. 😊
Hi Julie! I am 62 and teach ballet. Enjoyed this video! I have found that the past few years, I have not been as flexible in my knees, so I will try some of these exercises.
I'll be turning 70 this year. I used to work out and run religiously. The running has given me knee issues, and I stopped running a few years ago in the hope that my knees will last me 'til the end. I had DBS implants put in my brain last January for essential tremors. As they turn up the amplitude of the signal to my new electrodes to alleviate the shaking, my balance has been less than perfect. It has occurred to me that if I build up the strength in my legs, it would help compensate for that. My wife is always making me watch Bob and Brad videos, so that is how I ended up at this video. My wife and I have just discussed using our silver sneakers membership at last...and going to the gym instead of watching TV a couple nights a week. I'm looking forward to getting back in the workout habit, and improving my balance with some professional guidance here.
I retired a few years early so I could get outside and move every day, after getting a taste of being more active during the COVID work-from-home years (saved two hours of commuting and got more sleep and more exercise). Now my days are centered around walking, hiking, cycling … I’m lucky that I got through sedentary office years and can still move.
72, did a 10k “race” event yesterday. I wasn’t last! My daughter, 33, was there in her first run event. 71 year old husband too. She beat me, I beat him, lol. Her boyfriend, 34ish, ran with her and coached her. He was a bit tired, as he had done a 33k training run the day before. Goals!
Always love seeing Julie! Would you please do a video of her EXACT workout rountine of what she does to get ripped like that? She looks fantastic! Thank you for the consideration.
Thank You to you and your "honey". I'm still plugging along after three years. Lost thirty pounds and am always looking for new exercises. I exercise every other day for an hour and walk for an hour most days. 77 years old and still kickin'. I will try the lunges and stair exercises, these will help me add some variety to my regular routine. I lost the weight (now 5"8" and 157 lbs.) and continue to exercise because of Bob (get well) and Brad for giving me the inspiration I need to continue. Thank you.
At a bit younger than your guest, im definitely noticing losing leg strength. Watching her make these exercises look easy gives me the inspiration to try and regain some of that strength. Good to be back with you, Brad. Hope Bob is doing well.
Julie is impressive. Grinding out plyometrics like.a.30-something! Its one day at a.time. Keep active.and add more as you get stronger, strONGER and STRONGER!!!!
Thank you Brad and Julie! Julie, you look amazing! You have excellent posture and quad strength. La Crosse is a beautiful area... bluffs, rivers! Enjoy those bike rides (safely). Btw - we ❤ the mini massager we got from you! It will travel, too, when we do. Tell Bob "hi" for us all.
73 here. I stay active. These are great in between our "Y" days! Plus I also ride & care for my horse. I've been walking 10,000 steps a day since August.
As someone who always took having two arms and two legs for granted, keep your legs strong! I lost a quad after a broken ankle and being in a boot forever. I am still using a crutch to take some of the pressure off my knee. It gets to be depressing and demoralizing! I am getting there but it is taking time. Appreciate you ALL so much. Always so positive. Extra positivity going out to Bob. You are missed.
Good video ass always. Can't lunge forward due to severe oesteoarthritis, but I do what I can. I use a gazelle glider daily and it really helps with this. Little spurts of time throughout the day helps a lot.
Hi. I am trying to save videos to do the exercises. I can bookmark on the website but when I see videos on RUclips I don’t know how to find them on the website to bookmark them. I can save RUclips videos but find it easier to retrieve them when bookmarked. Any suggestions folks? I think the service you provide with the videos is great!
Julie looks great!! She clearly does not have 63 year old issues with her knees. I have very painful bone-on-bone pain with lots of creaking, so I hope modifying these movements is effective.
I’m 64 n was told that I have osteoporosis. I do walk every day with my dog. And have been working out with weights off n on . I haven’t done any workout for about a year due to shoulder surgery. So now I’m trying to get back to it to see if it will help.
I want to suggest for those who are less stable to use your kitchen sink rather than chairs for keeping balance. It provides MUCH more stability. It feels completely safe compared to a chair that can wobble or trip.
I don't know if anyone will respond, but I would like some advice for easing my way into exercises. I have been experiencing alot of muscle cramping in my thigh muscles. I seem to get the muscle cramps no matter how much or how little I exercise. Is there a good way to ease into the exercises and minimize cramps in my thigh muscles?
@@JJSolitude ..... Thank you.... I don't think I am, but I am taking in more water just in case. Also, I am almost 70 yrs so that is probably contributing as well.
Quick question: I recently received a massage gun. It seems to work, primarily, by vibration. How should a massage gun work your muscles? Can you recommend one of your massage guns for a beginner?
hey, after ACL and meniscus surgery i had a ski injury 1 year later, my LCL got extended very hard but not torn completely. after it healed and i got very strong again i can still twist my knee inside like a dislocation (but not) and im scared to come back to surfing, any suggestions?
I had a right knee replacement I 2016, and even though I had some therapy afterward but I still feel like I should be doing more to loosen it up a bit more. Do you have any exercise for that?
So what are you doing a quack did your THR, and now you're an inch difference in leg length aka the unoperated side is a inch shorter, and he swears it's not. I'm back in PT again because I'm having so many issues and he says I'm doing it myself. I walk everyday I've been doing the PT exercises I've been doing exercises that y'all shown me and I feel worse than I did before my surgery. It's the squatting more than anything so I'm fixing to try these and hopefully they'll help And by the way when I do exercises I keep the shoe on on my short leg and no shoe on the other leg so I'm kind of even
These are for people that already have plenty of strength. Most of us older people aren't at that point. We need beginner's exercises to help us get to where this already in shape lady is.
Start slow and have something or someone to hold on to. My soon to be 92 year old mother was very weak 4 years ago. She started with just getting out of a chair for the squat part. She now walks about a mile a day. Practice and keep moving. Modify any exercise to make it easier to begin with.
The words only come every once in a while, I am wondering if you have the subtitles on? You can turn those off, they aren't actually on the video itself. The icon for any products can also be closed.
I cannot do this exercises at all.I am 68 .She seems to have no difficulties and no pain. But I have and I think it is pretty useless to make such a video ,it is only for fit people.

Julie is fit and strong and looks much younger
Thank you both !
Thank you, Julie, for demonstrating and keeping older women active .
You look amazing at your age!
You are so welcome!
Thank you Julie... greatly appreciated...😊
Thank you Julie 🌸 it’s so important to stay active as we get older. This video is very encouraging and informative.
My husband and I are in our early 70s. We walk and dance regularly every week, and he is at the gym three times a week.
Thank you Julie & Brad
You are very welcome!
I broke my kneecap 11 years ago and the doctor wired and screwed it back together. I can’t get down for lunges…or genuflect in church! But I’m trying with better balance in yoga and teach line dancing twice a week. Life is good!

Such a useful video. This is exactly what we need to prevent the bigger problems at this age.

Great video. She is amazing. More with Julie please. She looks great. Whatever she does is working.
Will do!
8:34 Reminds me of Monty Python and the Ministry of Silly Walks.
Thanks, Julie. I’m going to do the workouts you’ve been demonstrating. Bob, you’re so encouraging and kind. 👍
Thank you Julie for reminding women to stay active! I enjoyed this video
Great exercise demo. Thanks Julie!
Thanks for watching!
Very inspiring & helpful. As a 50 year-old female wanting to stay fit, I would love to see more videos with Julie.
Love a Julie video! Well done, been laid up for a week, good info for when I get back to it! 🤗💕☀️
Thanks for watching
Wow I wish I had your strength and fitness Julie!!!!! And I’m 10 years your junior. Always had weak legs and knee problems.
Thank you Julie for sharing your expertise! 😊
Just the kind of video I need now that I'm 70! Thanks Julie.

Could have done these 4 years ago. Knee arthritis too bad to do these. Can’t afford knee replacements .
Both of my knees are bone in bone. Have any suggestions for strengthening my legs with these issues?
I have to get back to wall slides and some of these lunges . I like the squat with the toe press
up . Thanks Julie ! You look great 👍
Can you do these exercises if your have knee issues?
I appreciate the running explanatory narrative. Do you ever recommend one-legged squats?
Will this help me rebuild after two hip replacements, 😅 want to get rid of my cane and walker
Thanks again for sharing! 💯 ❣️
Loved this! 🌻
This is a great video I wish you had one for strengthening your legs after total knee replacement
We do, actually more than one. Just search our channel. Brad

I'm turning 70 this year, good advice and thanks for the tips
Glad they were helpful!
Thank you I’m 72 and I need to learn to do those squats a little bit better and I appreciate all that
You look great!
She is amazing! 🔥🔥
Julie looks almost exactly like someone I grew up with! I'm a Julie too and I always enjoy your channel for years.❤
Oh thank you!
Are lunges safe if you have knee issues?
Thanks 🎉!

Very good video!❤
Glad you liked it!!
Jos about when you have bad hip or knee?
I’m 66 and do paddle boarding, cycling , yoga and my favorite weight training with kettlebells. Stay active a sedentary lifestyle will kill you.
I don't know if anyone will respond, but I would like some advice for easing my way into exercises.
I have been experiencing alot of muscle cramping in my thigh muscles. I seem to get the muscle cramps no matter how much or how little I exercise. Is there a good way to ease into the exercises and minimize cramps in my thigh muscles?
is there a chance you're dehydrated thus causing the cramps?

Good on you Julie!
You look so young n fit!
Was really active. Since I had a stroke it's really difficult to walk at times let alone anything else.
What if you don't have stairs?
Do these exercises help build bone?
Quick question: I recently received a massage gun. It seems to work, primarily, by vibration. How should a massage gun work your muscles? Can you recommend one of your massage guns for a beginner?
our Q2 model is our best seller and I think great for a beginner. Brad
What is your opinion of the vibration boards?

But my inability to run away keeps me married, kidding! Happy pre-full-eclipse day everyone, next one's in 375 yrs!
August 23, 2044 will be the next total eclipse visible in the US. How do you get 375 years?!?!
I heard it will be in 2044.
I had a right knee replacement I 2016, and even though I had some therapy afterward but I still feel like I should be doing more to loosen it up a bit more. Do you have any exercise for that?

Excellent ! For overweight folks : same thing in a pool or… any alternatives to exercise legs, core, not weight based ?
tips for Morton's neuroma please
Interesting, Brad seems tougher “coachy” with Julie’s demos, versus with Mike or Bob. 😅 GO JULIE! You look terrific & strong!

I can't do lunges. I have had 2 injuries.
I can do squats though.
Squats work!
These exercises are great for someone in perfect health! But not all 60+ year olds are!
I cant get to the ground with lunges!😢 I' m 70, not very fit but trying to improve.
Thank you to Julie for encouraging us Boomers to do something, even if we aren't at her level of activity.
How tall between steps on the stairs?
7 inches :)
Really sad that you didn’t show modifications for people with knee issues. There is no way I could do those lunges, etc
Why really sad?? Can't you just ask them to show you modifications? Doesn't have to be sad, unless you choose to be sad 4:06
You can try searching our RUclips channel for other video that better fit your needs.
Absolutely. I like to be active, and my physio puts my arthritis down to ageing . Obviously, everyone doesn't develop disabling arthritis with age!
Just do a modified lunge, as in don't go down as far as Julie did. Even modified lunges have alot of benefits!
@marysuecarl
🙄
This is a great video but hard to watch with the words on the screen and the icon for the product offered, this blocks the view.

Thank you Brad and Julie.. does Julie really use 25 lb weights on her lunges? Wow..
Iam 67
Keep up the great work!
63 isnt a older adult = seems like a baby to me lol
That's true!!
Lucky lady. If she had arthritic knees she wouldn't be doing this!
Are you kidding ? Those lunges are sooo dangerous for many people in our sixties. Completely NOT for beginners ! Someone could get really hurt !!
Thank you for the feedback
I'm 60 and can do lunges. Start slow, use that hand for balance and do not go as low as possible. He does say that.
Can you do this with arthritic knees?
Love having a female showing us how to move.
Good to know!
she quit saying 70s dont forget the eighties
I cannot do this exercises at all.I am 68 .She seems to have no difficulties and no pain. But I have and I think it is pretty useless to make such a video ,it is only for fit people.
