    As you are only able to restore the Leat on your land what do you intend to do with the water it carries ? usually man made water courses like this were built to supply a water wheel in order to power a mill sometimes to provide water for domestic or industrial use. Does the mill still exist ? do you intend to utilize the water to produce power ?

      On the map we recovered, it's only marked as an irrigation leat. Sadly, there is no mill. There is an old one a little further with its own canal but not on our land. For now, we are only allowed to let the water flow back to the river, but making power is a great idea, since the place has some potential (about 18m head), but for that we'd have to do a LOT of paperwork...

      Yeah, would love to continue it further but I don't think it's his mindset, maybe because he has cows on there who would destroy it

      if kills newborns at the beginning when the sprout out of the earth he can control the spread .... an cut down the big ones regularly? but it is invasive plant

      Yes, you're right, it's invasive if not taken care of. We'll use the canes for different projects and maybe even eat the sprouts.
