Some of the quality of the camera work is staggering...together with the 'story' makes for superb watching. Time to retire Attenborough...there's a new 'kid' in town.
I'm born on the wrong continent, in a country wheres no nature at all and where you can't see the stars at night, cause every 30 meters theres a street light that stays on for all night. I live in a country where you cant drive offroad at all cause there are houses and buildings all over the place, wheres no way to escape from the daily pressure. Even at night you can't cross the street without looking twice or you got hit by a car. And then i see this videos.... GOD i love those vids and story's ! Every time i'm dreaming away, wish i could live like that. Thank you Andrew, keep living the dream !
speedlukke You need to go where you want to be. I grew up in NZ, lived in AUS & now live in the US Rocky Mountains. Check out Lohan's channel, he grew up in Argentina, lives in Canada & travels the world. ruclips.net/channel/UCqiYX6cqxQI9CqhH_kvHeOw
Thanks RUclips for giving people with talent and lovely personality the platform to put their work for everyone to watch, learn and enjoy. Thanks Andrew...
I watch a lot of channels on RUclips and have even given up TV for many years now. One of the joys of this channel is your ability to convey a story though film. You have very interesting stories to tell and commentary that is relevant, and actually funny. But the film, the pictures and the drone flights really capture my imagination, so thank you. My Patreon dollars are well spent.
G’day Andrew... ExPat living in the USA (“Somewhere in the middle of America”) i have been enjoying your videos for many years, and i am right at this moment re-living vicariously through your videos. It has been so many years since i travelled throughout Australia, but with your videos it seems like yesterday Mate... Thanks for what you do and bringing all this fabulous content for the world to see. Cheers Wes.
Funny how some can do this easy and others wouldn't dream about it... I drove road trains Sydney - Perth for two years (Dubbo to Northam in 48 hours at times), last motorcycle trip was 7,330klm Sydney, Port Augusta, Uluru, Mt Isa and back to Dubbo then Sydney and alone in 10 days, I couldn't do it any other way.. Have yet to 4wd it which will entail places I wouldn't dare try on a motorcycle and didn't have time for in the truck... the plans are in motion which is why I'm watching from another's perspective: so much more to learn and see and I'm only 63 (omg that rhymes) Awesome video's each and every one you're in and love the music. That place where the Nullarbor touches the ocean is one of the few places I (apparently illegally) pulled up one night in the road train, you can feel the life in the earth, it really is magical.
Andrew, I totally get it when you talk about travelling alone. Feel the same. Your storytelling and your camera work are outstanding. Glad that you will have a troopy again. I own a GRJ 78 and totally love it. Regards from Germany.
Am a Kenyan living in Frankfurt, Germany ... big fun of your Chanel , reminds me back in Kenya when we took Safaris in December to North Kenya with my family Team Landcruiser 💪🏿the best 4x4 off-road car in the world !!!! Big fun 🤩
With your section informing us to always check wheel nut tension you can simply buy wheel nut indicators, bright yellow with a point location point on them,so if they loosen off the indicator will now be off its reference mark letting you know if a wheel nut is coming loose, these are used on trucks, heavy duty vehicles, just push over your wheel nuts and cheap to buy, anyway thanks for sharing this video, regards Roy
I realize I've arrived rather late, but hope you'll see this. Mr White, I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one afflicted with the duplicity of being lonely, but also careful to avoid people. I too, enjoy solitude during the day, but have pangs of loneliness at night, but still pointedly avoid people. I often wonder if this is a condition long associated with being a vagabond, or wayfarer, or if it is something unique unto myself. Thank you for sharing your adventures, I enjoy your videos immensely.
Mr. St. Pierre White, I thoroughly enjoy your channel. Your presentation, video production value, and no nonsense approach is a beautiful thing. I rarely watch my television anymore, as most of the content is over produced, saturated with fake drama, and just unwatchable. Please be safe, and keep the videos coming.
I'm with you Andrew, camping alone at night can be lonely, though I prefer the solitude to the company of strangers too near by. A bit of a strange feeling, but there you have it. Thanks for sharing another journey!
I like the way you set up a topic before you speak about it. For example, the shot of the truck facing the ocean, into the wind, at sunset. It gave me a feeling of being exposed and alone. At that moment you spoke about the very same thing.
Been a long distance 4x4 driver in eastern africa, I really admire your crossing aussie, Andrew I drove the same type vehicle L/C, HZJ78 for save the children for a period of 5+ years none turbo, but here we call it Hard top
Hello from Greece! You are a true legend! Thank you very much! You inspiring us to explore beautiful landscapes! Take care and I wish the best for you!
Great video and I really love the intro. It describes so well why many overland travelers tour Australia and why they often don't know where they'll end up at the end of a days drive.
Another great video. These have inspired me to slowly do my own mods to my truck. I am going to do a few at a time, until I work out what I need/want and what I don't. I was going to get a swag but after looking at yours I am thinking sleeping in the back is the go for overland/overnight trips.
I think in the first 30 seconds of this video you encapsulated everything I feel about getting out into the bush. Things only got better from there... Wow I am going to love watching this series. The only part of what you do I don't envy would be the time tables you have to meet. In the past I have been lucky enough to travel without and great time limits. I hope you also have the chance to do that because that is real freedom.
Hey Mate love the comment love Australia and we are glad you have chosen to live here, I have driven the Plain 16 times,no not a truck operator but just love it out there, quite a few times on my own and like you love just pulling into a spot and camping, if you ever do it again, Newman rocks just out of Norsemen is a wonderful camping area, keep up the great video's cheers.
I am going on my first campervan trip this Christmas with my wife from Sydney to Melbourne. Your video give valuable information about camping site and we were worried if we won't be able to pull over along the side for camping. We want to camp next to the beach along the Great Ocean Drive and hopefully they have free camping sites. Looking forward to watch your videos and hopefully I can travel around Australia in a 4WD like yours in future :)
Great video Andrew, I've been waiting for this one. Love the camera work - simply stunning. This is why I became a "life member" all the years ago. Good on ya mate!
Quality work! I watch a lot of adventure video on RUclips and I must say Andrew your story telling, cinematography, editing and production is both brilliant and engaging. Thank you.
Andrew, I totally understand you love of travelling alone and so do I 99% of the time as a travel writer. I also feel the same way during the day, and at night. It is only at night that I feel lonely, but I would rather spend it alone than with other people......it is the introvert in me.
Fantastic video Andrew. Love your sense of humour during the narration of your travels. Looking forward to your next videos. All the best, Steve from Charters Towers, North Queensland.
Loneliness of an evening.but not looking to find others to communicate with......completely get that..The day seems expansive, then the night is for sleeping, or a good book
haha outside the toilets at 11:00 is when I came and said "Hi Andrew, thanks for your videos". We were one of those groups camped by the salt pan when you were filming here that morning.
G'day, Yay Team ! My daughter was camped at Uluru last week, she's in a 1999 Rav-4, performing a solo Circumnavigation, with a Tent....; currently she's covered about 12,000 Km since March, when she left Glen Innes in NSW. Last month she lost her Oil-Filler Cap somewhere on the Gibb River Road, returning from Windjana Gorge - and when she realised it, on a Sunday, she fabricated a hand-sculpted jury-rig replacement ; and then went on with that from the Quarry on Highway # 1 a hundred klicks down the Tanami Track, to Wolfe Creek & back, then on to Hall's Creek during the week when Repco were open...., to aquire a legitimate replacement part. Strange to tell, she has never ever yet changed a Wheel, claiming that she has the Jack & the Spare & the Tools & she'll figure it out from the Owner's Manual ; if ever she really has to do it (!). She's 27, and didn't get her L's, till she was 25. Just in case you ever felt the need of a touchstone ; as to how wise & experienced one actually needs to be, in order to survive the wilds of the interior Roads of Oz...! Why don't you fit your Vehicle with a SunFoil ? (Title-Search YT for , "The SunFoil Project..." and check out theg resulting Playlist, to learn more). Have a good one, ;-p Ciao !
really good job ! edit, shots, comments. I did most of Australia few years ago in a troopy as well and it's fun to see your videos and when you share your feelings who are sometimes very similar to mine in the same situation ... keep going mate !
Another amazing video sir :) :) so spot on about the amazing aspect of Australia, one get the feel that Australian know and understand they have an amazing nature so why not let people enjoy it. Looking forward to the coming videos like always
I’ve never watched one of your offroad series. I think this shall be my first. Looking forward to getting a few ideas for my own channel. 👍. Thanks for sharing.
The camp at the edge of the ocean looks amazing. I've always been one for stars in the middle of 'nothingness', but that view with the sunset over the ocean really got me thinking. Great job
I crossed that "little" straight on a 125cc Vespa(scooter) ... AHHH, it was raining heavily with a very strong wind! It was fun... The maximum speed was 80 km / h, it took a "little" time until the end.
Amazing video Andrew!! Truly amazing content, great quality and awesome story, being honest, watching this just makes me want to take my 2 door Rangie and drive to the bush. Thanks for an incredible video!
You sir, are a true inspiration! One day i will do that Australia trip. For now i'm doing smaller ones with my (far less) capable 2002 Subaru Outback. Thank you for your amazing content and inspiration!
Andrew, that train only goes from mine to port. The cross country freight train is further north. No mention of the golf course. ? Nice work. I'm looking forward to the next episode.
Been so looking forward to this series, the teasers just added to the excitement. Breakfast cereals I agree, we now cook bacon & eggs, even we that can't cook (me) can manage that. LOL Two thumbs up Andrew.
Some of the quality of the camera work is staggering...together with the 'story' makes for superb watching. Time to retire Attenborough...there's a new 'kid' in town.
I never thought I'd say this but - 'here, here' to this comment. Great work.
But they make rather different films: nature and overlanding.
You sir, create the absolute most incredible overlanding videos on the entire planet. Period.
I'm born on the wrong continent, in a country wheres no nature at all and where you can't see the stars at night, cause every 30 meters theres a street light that stays on for all night. One of Andrew's best: Captures the spirit of solo over-landing.
Thanks RUclips for giving people with talent and lovely personality the platform to put their work for everyone to watch, learn and enjoy. Thanks Andrew...

My partner Wayne and I have been travelling for two years on the road and love the fact that we can pull up where want and camp. We are lucky here!!

Your experience as an Overlander and cinematographer are really born out in such a beautiful presentation, thank you Andrew.

Very good material. Lighting, story telling. Almost no day shots. I love it.
I realize I've arrived rather late, but hope you'll see this.

Thank you , Andrew! you are really different from all other 4WD youtuber. you are the best , I should say. enjoy every mins of your video.

I rarely watch my television anymore, as most of the content is over produced, saturated with fake drama, and just unwatchable. Please be safe, and keep the videos coming.
You nailed it. Having once loved it, I avoid Discovery Channel for that very reason. Its for children, and dull ones at that.
I'm with you Andrew, camping alone at night can be lonely, though I prefer the solitude to the company of strangers too near by. A bit of a strange feeling, but there you have it. Thanks for sharing another journey!
I love the idea if never knowing where you going to end.
So much adventure. Amazing life style.
