    I have 2 G mouthpieces, for both Bb and A. These are really nice. I use VD reeds.

      If blowing then H
      But as I always say new mouthpiece which is not damaged in beak mouth part (it can be old, it depends how gently you use mouthpiece, not falling on the ground etc.)will be playing good
      Of course some mouthpieces more responsible (it can be both medium and large opening mouthpiece) for ex. B45 or this Backun vocalise H and that's because it's structure and large tip opening. But the main thing of nice response IS non-damaged beak. I can tell it because of my experience and knowledge of my teachers. So you can depend on it surely.

    What is the ligature that is on that backun he is playing or does it come with thr mouthpieces

    • @Cornodebassetto
      @Cornodebassetto 4 года назад +2

      It’s an old GF System ligature of mine. I didn’t want to scratch the mouthpieces while changing between cane and synthetic reed.

    So the Legere is not a cane Reed??

    • @dawkesmusic
      @dawkesmusic  3 года назад

      Correct - Legere are fully synthetic reeds. Available for Clarinet via: www.dawkes.co.uk/legere-bb-clarinet-signature-reed/05158

    Why you didn't demo the Backun CG Vocalise here in this video??

    • @dawkesmusic
      @dawkesmusic  4 года назад +3

      Because it didn't exist at that point :) Nor did the Z. So, there's a new video in the pipeline. Just need to be able to get back into the studio after C-19.

    I've tried a european cut 3.50 on my BD5 and sound was not good like with v12 3.5, I went out of tune, I couldn't keep stable long notes and sound was lifeless.. I woner If I would try a signature series would work better...

    • @danielkwon4679
      @danielkwon4679 4 года назад

      it may be because the legere european cut 3.5 is almost almost equivalent to a v12 4. heres a strength chart if you wantwww.legere.com/need-to-know/strength-charts/

    • @jimis3167
      @jimis3167 4 года назад +2

      @@danielkwon4679 Do not take this chart as a standard point.. Legere European 3.50 to me felt like a light v12 3.5.. Also, It probably needs some other mouthpiece like a Vocalise to work properly, I find as a reed, It isn't quite suitable for playing on my BD5, so unfotunately I have to stick with v12 3.5 reeds this time...

  • @jimis3167

    So, you think that is ok to just order one randomly and not try many same? It will be what It is on every Vocalise of same model or they will be minor differences like on all common hard rubber mouthpieces of the same model?

    • @dawkesmusic
      @dawkesmusic  4 года назад +1

      In our opinion, due to the way these are made it is pretty much impossible for there to be any difference in how they play.

    What is the tip opening for each model. I'd like to know what is the more open

    • @dawkesmusic
      @dawkesmusic  4 года назад

      The H is the most open of these 3. There is also a new Z model coming which is even more open and also has a long facing. We should have a review video in the next few weeks.
