Yes that's VERY True. I introduced my daughter and numerous friends of hers to 80's music and Yanni and many other artists, Movies like Airplane and more. They STILL talk about it now in their late 20's and can't believe HOW GOOD sooo many of the songs, movies and TV shows were from that time and how they WISH they grew up in the 80's too.

I am one of the fortunate few who grew up as a teen during the 80s. Looking back from then until now I can truly say I was very very very blessed to grow up during that time. Life was so awesome. So full of hope and opportunity without the drama. Just the right balance of everything. Anyone who grew up during that decade knows exactly what I'm talking about.

I’ll definetly buy myself some nice jackets, chinos and loafers to catch the style. I just love it ^^

I've loved this song since I first heard it as a 6 year old and it lead to me becoming a musician a few years later because it made me realise that, if something THIS great could be created on a synthesizer? I am a 33 years old guy and I recently re-disvovered this track. It was mind blowing experience. I heard it by an accident in the workplace and couldn't get the title/artist. I did my research and finally I am here. My dad used to play me this song in the 90's when I was a kid. It was my truly favourite. I remember how I imagined a video-clip (I was like 5 or 6 so I didn't understand the concept of clips but this image came to my mind). When I was listening to it, I was imaging a tennis competition where a player was defeating one after another and going in the glory for medals. What's funny, tennis wasn't (and still isn't) an important thing to me or my surroundings. I think I am going to cry😂

True. Though much of modern culture took root back in the middle to late 60's, then gradually germinated and ripened for the following three decades. Yet modern culture hit this high point back during 1983-1989. That's when much blossomed, and Western pop culture went through this vibrant cultual metamorphosis. And the 80's was just as pioneering, original and transcendental as the 2nd half of the 60's were. Great times.

It's a memory like any other decade. Be happy you got to experience it. I had family down in Miami through this entire period. It was scary for them. Miami Vice often used real crime stories from as little as a week earlier. Miami went from a sleepy retirement community to an international drug hot zone in a very short amount of time. The criminals were actually caught off guard and had to adapt which drove the violence.
