Dude your channel is cool! I saw Adam Savage making a reproduction crown last week so I decided to search RUclips for similar videos… And came across your crown videos. Went into your profile… And found this video by accident. This is super interesting. Much more interesting to me personally than crowns… but your crown builds are awesome. I think it’s so unique and cool that you’ve made many different crowns. I assumed I would find many others on RUclips who made only a single crown… Like Adam did. It’s cool that you have such an interest you have made so many of them. And you have really honed your craft and skills of crown making and gotten better at it! If you decide to make more globes in the future… You could easily watercolor them by sealing the inkjet. There are many different ways to seal a print, but the easiest and best looking is probably some type of artists “fixing” spray. Even just basic matte clear coats. There are also papers that can be special fully purchased to print on with the inkjet and then you can iron them or something like that… I don’t quite remember but I know they will automatically hold onto the ink so that you can do watercolor on them. I think it would be really cool to see you do a watercolor one by hand Or have them printed at the library or somewhere like a print shop who has a different type of printer. Would only cost a dollar or two I would have it done on a really nice high-quality paper. Although it can’t be too thick or it won’t be easy to fit around the globe. But there are still very good quality papers that are extremely thin and pliable You put so much time into it… It would definitely be worth doing the watercolor and stuff by hand. It would be like a custom work of art! Would love to see more videos from you !
Thank you so much man, I really appreciate that you've taken your time to write such a supportive comment, and of course thank you for your insightful DIY suggestions! I watched that Adam Savage crown video too btw and I was so excited, because I also have that St Edward's crown in production for future videos, so cool that you as one of his audience found my channel just like that! I agree with you, globes making is so interesting, but it's also a super daunting process so I'm pretty sure this would be my 2nd and last globe I ever make haha, but I love the idea of watercolor a whole globe just like how the Bellerby does. Once again thank you for subscribing, and fans like you keep me going with creating everyday!
Came back a few years later surprised to see you pinned my comment. You demonstrated great craftsmanship and ability to problem solve....in this project as well as others. It's very uncommon to see someone successfully completing projects of this caliber. And I'm glad to see you continuing your journey and learning process. Look forward to seeing you tackle other big projects in the future.
I love globes and this video was amazing to watch! Even if your last attempt was not "perfect", your braveness and persistence to make it as good as possible made it unique and beautiful! Congratulations for your great work!
Dude you are hilarious. I cannot believe this doesn’t have more views. I can’t believe Bellerby globes hasn’t invited you to their studio. If anyone deserves that you do.
Very glad you left in all of the failed attempts I’m planning on doing a similar project soon, so seeing where I need to be careful And where things can go wrong is very helpful!
I have collected globes for years. I actually make them into snowmen for my interior Christmas decor. I leave the original map face I promise it doesn't look cheesy!
This video made me so happy. I loved it so much. ❤ I'm in a long distance relationship (USA to Germany) and I wanted to make my boyfriend a Valentines Day Globe. Your video helped me ground my expectations of the project because I CERTAINLY don't have time to do all that work in the next week. 😂😂 I will just have to use the globe the way it comes from the store. 🌎
Sorry to comment again… Dude!!!!! It’s insane how much work you put into this. Specifically the digital part. Having to relocate all the city names by hand one at a time! Lots of love and care went into this that’s for sure! Great job! Definitely subscribing.
Thank you so much again! I have to give credit to the original creator who built that free digital map from scratch, without him this project would be impossible!
This is awesome bro. Sadly this video has garnered only 800 odd views whereas a puppy pooping video would have hit a million by now. 17:45 - Cannot agree more. I’m going to do this as a pet project with my two sons. Thanks a ton 🙏🏼
such a long and tedious process, looks super difficult. while it takes humans so long to do something "perfectly", this shows how powerful mother nature is. as nature does not make mistakes! it's crazy to think how things work naturally in this universe.
you could have colored the inkjets with alcohol markers. copic makes good ones for artists. or if you insist in using a brush, you could use alcohol based inks with a brush.
Can you please let us know when you have your Etsy Channel back up and running so we can purchase this pattern some of tus don't have computer so we cannot print them out..thank u 👍
Glad it worked dude. I have a pretty cool globe, but was kinda bored with the world. Watching this video to make an unrealistic "globe of the great lakes" with shipwrecks. Looks like I first need to make copies, and change the scale for long and lat
Oh I can't remember the brand as they're generic stuffs i got from a craftstore, but any pva glue (white glue or latex glue) works, and for paper, I used Epson's Couche inkjet paper of 140gsm for the success attempt.
You have the skills. You just need to use a proper geometrical transformation to create all the pieces. And start art multiple places to reduce cumulative error.
Hi I'm pressed for time with valentines day coming up and was wondering what editor did you use to create the gore effect on the globe i'm trying to do a globe thing but not a globe but with a star chart and I would only need to editer for it too work please reply to comment and get back to me it would mean the world to me
IM WATCHING THIS VIDEO ON MARCH 21ST 2023 AND I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU MAKE A HUGE GLOBE AND AUCTION IT OFF FOR CHARITY!!! JUST A SUGGESTION FOR MORE VIEWS!!!! LOVE YOUR CHANNEL NEW SUBBIE!

Your persistence and problem-solving skills are immense, holy crap. You'll go far in whatever you pursue.
Dude, big respect for your persistence.
Haha thanks Helge, I really appreciate it.
I‘m confused why this didn’t has more views or likes
The powers-that-be in “the west” want its people to forget what humans are capable of. Especially certain humans.
I'm also
MAD respect for all that effort put into it. THE FINAL RESULT IS AWESOME THOUGH!!

Hello, I'm planning on making my own globe too, when is the detailed tutorial coming out though? I've been waiting since this video was released lol
such a long and tedious process, looks super difficult. while it takes humans so long to do something "perfectly", this shows how powerful mother nature is. as nature does not make mistakes! it's crazy to think how things work naturally in this universe.
Very true indeed.

Your fingers are so pretty!!
Thank you. Nice work. Funny, too😂
Plz plz also attach gores PDF in description
Great video, Why not paint over the existing cheap globe?
That would take forever lol. And it obviously can't match the detail of a print.
This video deserves way more views than it got.
you could have colored the inkjets with alcohol markers. copic makes good ones for artists. or if you insist in using a brush, you could use alcohol based inks with a brush.
I didn't know that, thanks for the tip!
Can you please let us know when you have your Etsy Channel back up and running so we can purchase this pattern some of tus don't have computer so we cannot print them out..thank u 👍
I want to repair or swap out the base of my globe. The bottom part broke, but it's so pretty.
Glad it worked dude. I have a pretty cool globe, but was kinda bored with the world. Watching this video to make an unrealistic "globe of the great lakes" with shipwrecks. Looks like I first need to make copies, and change the scale for long and lat

Thanks, you can get the complete gores file ready for print over my Etsy shop, link in the description box.
Can we please please get the finished photoshop file? You'll save my sanity then.. thank you T_T
You have the skills. You just need to use a proper geometrical transformation to create all the pieces. And start art multiple places to reduce cumulative error.
I want to learn about the art of cutting paper to cover 3d objects.

Hi, I used the warp transform feature in photoshop, hope this helps.
Where did you get that 1980's porn movie music soundtrack?
How do you know what measurements to make the gores in photoshop?
There’s a program by nasa that lets you turn a flat map into gores
IM WATCHING THIS VIDEO ON MARCH 21ST 2023 AND I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU MAKE A HUGE GLOBE AND AUCTION IT OFF FOR CHARITY!!! JUST A SUGGESTION FOR MORE VIEWS!!!! LOVE YOUR CHANNEL NEW SUBBIE!
Now we know why a globe is so expensive.
Hello austin can you help me in making maps into gores im not hrtting that step because im not into photoshop

What is the size of the ball 😔

You can still purchase it via PayPal, dm me over Instagram if you're interested!

But I want a google earth satellite globe. No one manufactures anything that looks like our planet.
A photoshopped copy is not my idea of a re-creation.
