  • Soothing hike to the jaw dropping Chitta Katha Lake in POV (point of view) perspective with only real nature sounds and no talking/commentary.
    Chitta Katha Lake is one of the most scintillating lakes of Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Chitta Katha Lake's location is near Shounter in Neelum Valley. Chitta Katha Lake's trek details are as follows:
    Length of trek to Chitta Katha Lake is 8.70 km which is not long by any means, however the real catch of visiting this lake is the elevation gain which is 1,260m in such a short distance. The hike to Chitta Katha Lake starts at a place called Houz which is at an elevation of 2,880m, from here you drop down to 2,830m to cross the Shounter Nullah and then you trek up to Chitta Katha Lake altitude of 4,090m.
    Chitta Katha Lake trekking time is about 7 to 8 hours for faster trekkers and more for slow movers.
    There are two closely located campsites in the trek to Chitta Katha Lake. These are called Dak-1 and Dak-2 (or Deck-1 and Deck-2) and they are located at about the 4.5km mark. During trekking season between June and September, you will be able to find shelter, food and water at these campsites.
    Most people trek to Dak-1 or 2 on the first day, setup camp and spend the night there. The next morning they trek to the lake and then return by evening. But, we did the entire trek on a single day and camped at the lake and returned the following day.

    Amazing video! We watched this video before going to Chitta Kattha last month, and throughout the trek we had a feeling of deja vu, it was as if we've been here before! The video coupled with the blog on your website is very, very informative. Keep it up, friends!

    Awesome and really helpful pov. What's the main hurdle point in the trek? Walking through the stream around the 3km point?

    • @PoVTube
      @PoVTube  Месяц назад +1

      Yes that, and the climb between 7-8km. It is really steep and tiring.

      @@PoVTube due to cold? or something else

    • @PoVTube
      @PoVTube  2 года назад

      @@candidExpedition3006 Several reasons.
      1. Unpredictable weather
      2. Oxygen is low so you might feel sick (I did)
      3. There's no water up there
      4. Camping will cause littering
      5. Itinerary-wise its difficult to camp there.
      6. Locals will tell you that at night, wild animals such as bears come out and even supernatural beings (but we got neither)
