As i understand it Mulgrews problem was mainly with the show runners for casting an actress so blatantly for her looks, (lets be honest i dont think anyone at the time realized just how good an actress Ryan is), but im told these days both actresses have put it behind them and are good friends.
Jeri Ryan said the work environment was hell and she could hardly face it. I am surprised the producers did not show some leadership / management and tell Kate Mulgrew to stop it and stop it now. When "Happy Days" started, Ron Howard's character was supposed to be getting most of the attention. Henry Winkler as Fonzie quickly gobbled up most of the attention. Ron Howard was asked about this turn of events and Ron Howard said he was just glad the show was doing so well thanks to the Fonzie character. Seven of Nine definitely helped the show continue it to run as long as it did. Having those paychecks role in is all the motivation I would need to be Jeri Ryan's constant support on the set. Beyond that, suppose the roles were reversed and it was Kate Mulgrew being the new actress on the set, how would she want to be treated? Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

However, beaming a drone in the heart of the collective to the ship, with it's connection to the borg intact, would have been disastrous. Also, they already had plenty of cast members for a TV show, another main character would have put more strain on their budget. Still, if the writers and producers had found a way around that, it probably would have produced a surge of additional viewers and given more plot development. Voyager was at its height as a show in Season 5 and such a plot twist mid-season, done well, could have put it as the best of the Star Trek's series bar none.

From what I understand, the torpedoes didn't close the conduit but made the ships in it fly blind whilst in it. Most likely the Borg ship hit the sides of the conduit at warp and Kersplat.
It always seemed to me, that the Diamond had some sort of armor deployed. The wreck coming through looks like the ship, with its open parts closed... or ist it just the central part of the ship?
I think Dark Frontier would have been better had the queen used her parents more as a way of drawing her back and then them both turning on 7 when the queen ordered her and Janeway to be assimilated
In an older draft of unimatrix zero, seven's father was originally supposed to have been the one who created Unimatrix Zero as a blind spot inside of the collective and fool the borg to believe they had him under control, but still had to be careful not to attract attention. but as the Queen became aware of this blind spot, magnus was forced to contact his daughter, something he feared because he felt guilty that his family was assimilated.
Actually Captain Kirk‘s reputation as a ladies man is drastically over blown. He was pretty much a serial monogamist. He only ever loved like three women in his entire life. That 2009 Star Trek garbage turned him into a gigolo. The actual Kirk was a well educated and very starfleet focused individual. He He would have made some interesting quips. But he would have never simply made out with someone without having some kind of meaningful bond with them.
I got a theory about that. The Hive didn't mind the Queen occasionally taking personal initiatives, she was a advantage and could occasionally prove valuable in some situations. Having a single thought bought direction to the Collective. However everytime she did so, there was a risk of the hive rejecting her because she wasn't following the goal of the Borg, which is to reach perfection. Re assimilating Seven doesn't add to the Borg. Janeway does but the Borg have assimilated plenty of Federation captains.
Guess they won't be saving Seven's father after all... Yes, the Borg Queen came back, but in all likelihood that was an identical copy of this particular model. And then when she went nuts in Unimatrix Zero, she got replaced by the First Contact model.

2:30 they nerfed the borg so so badly in this entire show. In tng, one cube was strong enough to take out the entire federation. In this show, their torpedos are not strong enough to destroy a Starfleet shuttle called the delta flyer. If this was tng, one torpedo would be enough to vaporize the entire delta flyer.
@@MrMinoDan did they really? I didn't see evidence of that. Even if they did, the delta flyer is way way too small to realistically be able to withstand mutliple borg torpedo blasts, given that only a few years earlier a cube almost destroyed the federation.
@@Impulse154 I always assumed that the greenish parts on top of the Flyer was Borg technology. At the very least both Voyager and the Flyer had access to all of Sevens Borg knowledge. So they were not as much of a threat anymore.
The delta flyer is so small, and the borg thousands of years more advanced than the federation, that I expect the delta flyer would have problems against a kazon warship, nevermind gigantic borg vessels

Dang, Kate Mulgrew sounds like a royal bitch. I love Captain Janeway, she is one of my favorites. Shame the actress is nothing like her in real life.
I like the way that they kept up the music throughout this entire segment to build tension.

that would have been a rather good idea,cutting beams,plasma torpedo's hell even a couple of more transwarp coils would have helped.
They did, if i recall correctly then they found some transwarp cores and got closer to home with those.
