Vardy actually scored a rare type of clutch goal throughout his Euro 2016 campaign with England. I still remember his goal against Wales, it would be rendered offside by now, but that kind of clutch goal definitely was something rare, but he made it looks easier; he got past Ashley Williams in an offside position, while the ball deflected from the Welsh defender to his foot, then scored it right inside the box.
I will never not be angry about THAT Croatia match against a ponderous back line crying out for a pacey striker with a record of scoring decisive goals to undo them, but instead Kane was put out to lumber around the pitch not being very useful (this was a season or so before the man learned he could pass to his teammates instead of taking on and missing every shot) and Vardy got left on the bench until the game reached injury time with England a goal down. Haven't been able to get excited about the national team since that confirmation that the England team is only picked on favourites, not on the basis of who's the best actual fit for the situation.

As a Liverpool fan I knew that bastard volley was coming at some point towards the end... It ruined what was otherwise a perfect January holiday in 2016. Good on ya Vardy
One of the great things about Jamie Vardy is that he's left every team better than when he joined them. In fact, with the exception of Stockbridge Steels, he's won in every division he's been in: - In 2011, Halifax Town won the NPL Premier Division (just after being promoted, no less) - In 2012, Fleetwood Town won the Conference Premier title. - In 2014, Leicester City won the EFL Championship - In 2016, Leicester City won the Premier League and now in 2023-24, they're at the top of the Championship once more, with them and Ipswitch being 10 points clear of everyone else almost half a season in. And isn't it what we all want to end up leaving the things we're involved in better than when we arrived there?
His appreciation for where he was and his trials in getting there have him that vital edge over those who believed they deserved to be there. With Ian Wright, my favourite player.
A bona-fide premier league legend. Its mind boggling what hes achieved so late in his career and for a relatively small team. His shit-housing is also legendary lol
@@lsari6948 as much as my home town man Clough was a legend and his achievements remarkable. We have to accept that football has changed, the big clubs are worth billions to break that grip in recent times is unthinkable.
"Because when you're clutch, you're clutch everywhere." These words couldn't really more describe just how much of a clutch-type player he is. He always scored when he got any golden opportunity to do so, became the silver-lining in most of matches he played, while turned the silver into gold with his assists that actually were too much of a world-class for someone who had been spending his much of career in lower divisions, with Leicester being the only professional club he had been played. While that match against Manchester United, I never really watched it, he struck me really well when he played against Newcastle during that 2014-2015 as he somehow saved the club from losing points by his match winning goal.
He played for my club FC Halifax Town, who's scouting staff discovered him at Stockbridge Park Steels and at the time was wearing an electronic tag for some crime hed commited He also did 12 shifts making equipment for the NHS whilst playing for Stockbridge
...that Leicester team was special. I feel it's injustice to not mention Ranieri in the winning team. You should probably do a video on him as well.....he built Chelsea before Mourinho came along, Chelsea was top 4 team then. It would also been nice to mention Marez
Jamie Vardy is such a legend. I’ve heard of his story in other football videos, and you can’t deny that it’s inspiring to hear he went from working and playing with an ankle brace to winning the premier league championship with Leicester City.
if vardy played in the euro final he would've won england their first ever euro. im 100% sure they could've incorperated him with kane in the lineup he didnt have to be a bench warmer for so long that he retired from international football
Great video 👊🏻👏🏻 Vardy was a real throwback EPL Striker, used to love having him on Ultimate Team 😅. The only thing with him not playing for England was that he had a rival to be England's number 1 striker.... Harry Kane 😅
The legend that scored in his first game back in the premiership against Tottenham and then when he was substituted points to the premiership logo on his shirt and gestured one for me zero for you to the Tottenham fans. Absolute legend and has a Chelsea supporter I loved the battle of the bridge game too hand the title to Leicester and stop any chance of Tottenham getting the title. Even though they would’ve won it anyway.
As an American who’s getting into European Football, I relate to Jamie because my father was an alcoholic. Proud of Jamie for overcoming his personal demons.
Hope you make it back this year and he gets the closure he deserves in his career! Needless to say I supported Lester passionately that year although not really into the PL. Cheers from Greece from a PAOK fan.
There needs to be a movie about his life. It should end with him breaking Van Nisterloys record and the end credits showing highlights of Leicester winning the Premier League
Thanks for making this, your only mistake was Vardy scored the "It's eleven, it heaven for Jamie Vardy" at the King Power stadium not Old Trafford(I was there) A Leicester Fan..
vardy, mahrez and kante all in their prime and hungry, all supported by a squad of ultimate pros having their best seasons added to a couple of big clubs in transition and theres your recipe for a premier league, even after all these years i still struggle to believe they did it,on its own as an achievement its the best underdog story ever in sport, when u add in the previous few seasons the manager change etc it really is ridiculous, add in the helicopter crash near the ground killing the chairman and an FA cup win the story of leicester city in the 2010s early 20s is the most remarkable in all of sports,i know football movies are crap but if a good director could take this underdog story and all its moving parts and write a script from the right angle and perspective it could maybe be ok although because its football a documentary that shows the real goals big matches and memories will probs always be better
I've thought about Jamie more than any other player in my life. I dare say football to him is a mind game. When he finds the discipline to keep his demons in order, they inspire him to score like there was no tomorrow.
I remember, during that time a commentator called him "The Fantastic Mister Fox" and that name kinda got stuck for him between me and my buddies. Whenever Leicester won a game, people were like who scored? We were like"Oh just the old Mister Fox, loved Vardy❤❤️
As a 60 year old female lifelong Leicester city fan , this phenomenon that is Jamie Vardy is my all time favourite player . He’s a legend . The pleasure he’s given us is immense. He’s well worth another season as a player . He’s loyal as heck . 💙💙💙💙💙💙🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊
Besides the obvious quality he had, Vardy always gave me the idea he was a pro player with 7th tier attitude and that in a good sense as in he loves to play no matter if it was on Old Trafford or Wembley or even just a regular pitch in a local park.
He is just a pure footballer, like those pure kids playing football in the park... Honestly, I'm on the idea that football academy somewhat ruined many talents more. So, the situation he had back then was quite a blessing in disguise, worked great in a hindsight. As he would just play in a bar club for the sake of it but then scored goals like it was nothing.
What he and Leicester City did in 2015-16 was more than just win the Premiere League. They saved my life. I was depressed around the time with suicidal thoughts, but I happened to turn on the TV one day and saw Leicester playing a match against Chelsea I believe, and from then on I started to follow the Premier League and Leicester altogether. Seeing them lift the trophy inspired me to keep going and persevere in spite of things going on around me. Good times and bad times have come more than once since then, but thanks to Vardy and Leicester City, I stuck around to see them come.
I never grew up watching the premier league but was just getting into it and that was the first season I watched throughout. It was epic. So many thrilling games and who doesn't love an underdog story.

Liverpool fan here. I remember watching that game, we lost 2 zip and was gutted, shocked and amazed by that strike from Vardy.
No one puts it better than Martin Tyler... "It's eleven, it's heaven for Jamie Vardy!"
1:42 He wasn't made in a lab, but in a red bull factory
I grew up with dyslexia and ADHD, and I dealt with substance abuse in the past, but hearing Jamie Vardy's story inspires me in a lot of ways.
Vardy's story is way better than then one on the movie Goal except it was real... He will always be a Legend to me!!
Every day I am reminded that my club (Sheffield Wednesday) didn’t think he was tall enough so got rid. PAIN.
Boyhood fan as well, ouch 🙉
One of the great things about Jamie Vardy is that he's left every team better than when he joined them. In fact, with the exception of Stockbridge Steels, he's won in every division he's been in:
- In 2011, Halifax Town won the NPL Premier Division (just after being promoted, no less)
- In 2012, Fleetwood Town won the Conference Premier title.
- In 2014, Leicester City won the EFL Championship
- In 2016, Leicester City won the Premier League
and now in 2023-24, they're at the top of the Championship once more, with them and Ipswitch being 10 points clear of everyone else almost half a season in.
And isn't it what we all want to end up leaving the things we're involved in better than when we arrived there?
His appreciation for where he was and his trials in getting there have him that vital edge over those who believed they deserved to be there. With Ian Wright, my favourite player.
Absolutely agree England should have used him more when he was at his best. Was frustrating to see him being so underused at the time.
*please make video about Emilio Butragueño and La Quinta del Buitre*
one of the most underrated Real Madrid squad back in 80s
"Because when you are clutch, you are clutch everywhere" 🥶🥶🥶
Amazing work Daily Dose.....well put together and well written....
A bona-fide premier league legend. Its mind boggling what hes achieved so late in his career and for a relatively small team. His shit-housing is also legendary lol
Leicester winning the PL is the greatest sporting achievement of all time.
It was Nottingham Forrest with Brian Clough
@@lsari6948 as much as my home town man Clough was a legend and his achievements remarkable. We have to accept that football has changed, the big clubs are worth billions to break that grip in recent times is unthinkable.
Sure
"Because when you're clutch, you're clutch everywhere."
These words couldn't really more describe just how much of a clutch-type player he is.
And he's back! next season will be fun
I'm lucky enough to have watched this guy at Leicester...best striker I've ever seen.
Proof that even the most broken people in life can become some of the most memorable legends
He was a real footballer, something that this sport has lost
still is
and the new footballers are fictional?
@@mlg_dog420 yes, do you think haaland is an actual human being and not made in some norwegian factory
@@mlg_dog420 im saying a real footballer is someone who has a certain aura around them,a monster on the field and great personality
You only talk about united, others club still have footballer
He played for my club FC Halifax Town, who's scouting staff discovered him at Stockbridge Park Steels and at the time was wearing an electronic tag for some crime hed commited
He also did 12 shifts making equipment for the NHS whilst playing for Stockbridge
For me Vardy is a legend and an inspiration shouting it's never too late.
Man i love this channel....They just upload so rarely...and the narrator is the best....Free coffee everyday when you visit my countrry
...that Leicester team was special.
Should have been playing g regularly the last 10 years or so, considering how poor England were for the first 5 of those years as well
Hands down the best football channel on YT. Engaging, grippy storytelling. Well done brother...
Jamie Vardy's story in the PL is not over yet... Leicester are currently top of the championship!
A premier league, FA cup and 2 Championship titles with the same club, even Giggs and Co could not do that
Not even the clash of 90s, lmao.
@@josmith9662
And he will definitely return... or maybe, what if he knew he would?
He’s coming back! past seasons were just the hangover
Much appreciation for this account, nostalgia goosebumps every upload!
When you're clutch, you're clutch everywhere - true words, wish he'd signed for Utd
The quality of this video and script is top notch
He knows how to make it sound like a documentary. Even his titles are very hooking aswell
Great video 👊🏻👏🏻
Vardy was a real throwback EPL Striker, used to love having him on Ultimate Team 😅.
This guy's a frekin cult legend, one of the best strikers to grace the premier league.
As an American who’s getting into European Football, I relate to Jamie because my father was an alcoholic. Proud of Jamie for overcoming his personal demons.
As a Leicester fan, thank you for this video.
Hope you make it back this year and he gets the closure he deserves in his career!
Needless to say I supported Lester passionately that year although not really into the PL.
Cheers from Greece from a PAOK fan.
As a leicester city supporter in Australia 🇦🇺 thanks so much for this
There needs to be a movie about his life. It should end with him breaking Van Nisterloys record and the end credits showing highlights of Leicester winning the Premier League
You know what, the underlying statement of this video is " at 27 years of age, Jamie Vardy ARRIVED at premier league"
Love it, first class job on this one ☝️ thank you as always
The best underdog, semi-villan/hero we'd do everything to underrate him
6:27 those moves 😂
Thanks for making this, your only mistake was Vardy scored the "It's eleven, it heaven for Jamie Vardy" at the King Power stadium not Old Trafford(I was there)
A Leicester Fan..
vardy, mahrez and kante all in their prime and hungry, all supported by a squad of ultimate pros having their best seasons added to a couple of big clubs in transition and theres your recipe for a premier league, even after all these years i still struggle to believe they did it,on its own as an achievement its the best underdog story ever in sport, when u add in the previous few seasons the manager change etc it really is ridiculous, add in the helicopter crash near the ground killing the chairman and an FA cup win the story of leicester city in the 2010s early 20s is the most remarkable in all of sports,i know football movies are crap but if a good director could take this underdog story and all its moving parts and write a script from the right angle and perspective it could maybe be ok although because its football a documentary that shows the real goals big matches and memories will probs always be better
U just have to love Jaime Vardy ❤
now we're in 2024/2025 premier league and Leicester are in division 1 with Vardy still in the team lets go!!
Michael Owen said Vardy wasn’t a natural goal scorer (clueless) Vardy has scored lots of different goals and makes it look so simple.
His celebrations are legendary and his reaction to opponent fans wind ups is pure comedy. I love him and if he can stay with our club on some level for years to come it would be amazing.
As he would just play in a bar club for the sake of it but then scored goals like it was nothing.
him breaking that flag though
@@JobHans That's a GOAT move.
And people say Drogba is a clutch player, a player for the finals. My man Vardy is different.
And he stayed and still helping Leicester back to the PL.
I mean it looks like, he was the main reason they won the PL, its crazy...I never knew his story. WOW...this guys is something else for sure. Such a clutch player and human. Mr Clutch
I remember watching Vardy dismantle the Premier League..... what a player, what a player!!!!! It actually seemed like everytime he was away on goal he scored... smh.
Man! Your voiceover is a KILL!!!! YOUR VIDEOS ARE 100% ADDICTIVE as S****
My favorite player and my favorite team. Leicester will be back in the EPL next season. Hopefully Vardy will still have something left in the tank.
Emotional... give him his fkn flowers.. as a liverpool fan this man is by far my favorite striker ever.. when he lobbed that goal against us i knew they won the leauge then. props to kante and that whole squad, even the subs were clutch..
He and Mahrez were both incredible in that 2016 season, I’m so grateful to have seen such an unlikely team and player win the premier league in my lifetime
He may have arrived late but he made his time count , left a worthy legacy ♥️
