@@joye5761there is no tribalism here, the writer is only pointing out the obvious, there are many champions coming from all the tribes , but if you look closely many of them are Igbos most of the time , in every sport , they are not shouting that they are Igbos, they are proud Nigerians , Yes Tobi Amusan is Yoruba, I love her , she is always there for Nigeria, but her tribe is not discriminated against, her tribe is not singled out all the time in Nigeria , her tribe is the current president as bad as he is , an Igbo man won but they made sure they rigged him out,I bet you because he is Igbo, we must be honest with ourselves before we begin to solve the problem , it is like racists here in America, there is racial discrimination towards blacks nearly every day , but the racist will say , what about Obama, he became president, one success doesn’t wipe away the daily racism a lot of black people face every where , everyday, may of them are the Olympics champions that have put America on the international stage, same as the Igbos , we give and give to Nigeria , putting Nigeria up whenever possible and wherever, proud to be Nigerian, in a lot of cases only us , if there are 100 achievers internationally , 50 of them will be Igbo, 40 Yorubas and the rest 10 many other tribes , so Igbos are proud Nigerians, but come back to Nigeria, the government will discriminate, will not appreciate them or appoint them to any important position, and that trickles down to the average man , like Mc Oluomo or that oba of Lagos who will openly declare no Igbo should be allowed to vote in Lagos , will they do that to a Yoruba man or an Hausa man, or Ibibio man , or Edo man , it’s only Igbo that are championing the cause of Nigeria , so understand the comment made , Igbos do a lot , why is Nigeria so against them, let Igbo be , they are as Nigerian as every Nigeria , indeed they are high achievers .
