Basic needs are still an issue: Electricity, natural gas and so forth. I am from Pakistan, and I've lived in the U.S for some 40 years. I would not mind living in Pakistan again even in a studio (1 bedroom place) if only I have my air-conditioning/heating! LOL! I can even do without a car or household help, having become quite used to doing all my personal stuff myself. But constant AC-heating requires regular sources of energy, and this is where the problem comes in. In my old age (I'm 65 now) I must have these few creature comforts!
No doubt about that. If you buy a house then you can spend some money on solar panels to eliminate the electricity issue and use AC almost with no interruption. You can buy generator as standby option even with solar. Natural gas issue is handled by having cylinder on standby. Basically money can solve these issues and you can live comfortably in Pakistan. We are of same age and I can tell you with confidence that money can buy all the necessities which you mentioned.
That is also a very good idea 👍. Karachi has become concrete jungle so it is hot even at night time… at least 4 months out of the year so you may need AC for those months. Heating is not required at all… at least in Karachi
I am also thinking to move back to Pakistan 🇵🇰 after 20 years living in U.K. The reason of moving is I couldn’t find peace that inner happiness & honestly whenever I visit pak my depression disappears trying to convince my family to move back
Glad to hear your sentiments about moving back to Pakistan but not an easy decision when family is involved and if they are not on the same page. Pushing them to convince May not work very well. Not sure which Part of Pakistan you actually belongs to. Perhaps watch my Playlist on Bahria where I talked more about moving back to Pakistan. It becomes even more challenging if you have teenagers or older kids. I am here to share my honest opinion but that will be based on my circumstances and experiences. All the best.
You have mentioned solid reasons for moving back ! I knew that you wanted to spend time with your family and dollar factor is obvious. I think probably your reasons for going back would be political instability and street crime, it is my calculated guess. Waiting for your next video
Your statement is correct for few but not for many. When the inflation is hovering around 25% and salary increments are at the most between 10 to 15 percent then you will be non stop sliding back economically. House workers are in much bigger trouble as their increases are no where near 15% if they continue working at the same place. They may have to change the jobs to get better money :)
Unfortunately both are valid and existing issues. I lives in Bahria Town so don't face both issues so perhaps find better place to live..I have not seen these issues in Islamabad also and perhaps few other cities in Pakistan.
Masha Allah
You explained your reasons to live here very honestly!!
Thanks 🙏
