fox dont put there heads in containers unless their desperate they know their heads could get caught i tried to use a shallow plastic clamshell container and my fox skipped eating it looked liked a trap to him even though it was open and flat and full of mac n cheese his favorite, i felt awful and went back to cardboard
Do you want to know why mama fox is acting like that? She is missing pups. The normal litter size is 4 to 5, and in some cases, up to 8 for that species. Something attacked her and the pups, or someone took some puppies. They are not lost because she would have found them already with their sense.
She hid it and now she's waiting for you to go away. The mom doesn't want any human around while she's eating. Even if you did give it. they're not used to gifts, I guess. You need to hide and film them, like those professional photographers of wild life on TV You need to put it out in different places then hide, don't worry they'll find it with their noses. Trail cams are awesome you can see what they do over night. Those plastic gloves at the dollar store would be good for cutting meat, it won't have human smell on it. Damn that clacking , I can't take it.
