Speechless; the most in depth, easy to follow, east to understand review, especially for this senior.

This was the best carry on luggage review that I have ever seen and I’ve watched them all. You covered absolutely everything. I appreciate this, thank you very much. I’m subscribing. I don’t think you have a bad boy personality. These people commenting are too much. I’m from Long Island and everyone talks like this.

I have both roll aboard and spin er style bags and cobbles or uneven surfaces are not an issue with the spinner. Just tilt it as you would the roll aboard and pull it on two wheels. Good vid!

Thanks for the detailed reviews and comparisons! I had been shopping for a new rollaboard, and used this video and other sources to settle on the Crew Classic Rollaboard. It's the same as the Crew Classic Spinner you reviewed, except it has two fixed wheels in the rollaboard style instead of the spinner style you show. I prefer that because the bigger radius fixed wheels work a little better over the rough cobblestones I'm expecting on my European trip this summer, and a tiny bit of extra space is an added bonus. My new bag arrived today, and there were absolutely no surprises. Can't wait to take it on its first trip this weekend!

Rollaboards are better than spinners on European cobblestone IMO. Safe travels!

Thanks for this video because you helped me purchase the Travelpro Crew Classic Carry-On Spinner. Last year I purchased Travelpro's rollaboard that they make for Macys, called the WalkAbout. It's the same as the MaxLite 5. The rollaboard is a great suitcase, but after a few trips, I envied travelers with spinners, while I pulled my rollaboard behind me! I agonized while making this decision because it weighs 7 lbs vs 5.5 lbs because I'm a woman traveling alone. In the end the multi-position extension handle and the MagnaTrac self-aligning wheels won me over! I also like how the suitcase is designed to give you a bit more space at the bottom while also providing some protection for the wheels. So many spinners aren't designed that way and the wheels look like they can break off.

My husband and I have Maxlite 5....have traveled the world with them and love them. My husband resently purchased the Crew Classic. Love it, EXCEPT....the black plastic piece at the top is a little wider than the Maxlite. We both have the same backpack. It is easy to slide the backpack o ver the handle of the Maxlite, but is difficult to slide over the handle on the Crew Classic because it is slightly wider. It can be done, but requires a bit of wrestling. Thank you for the comparison video....very well done.

Main advantage of a 2-wheeler roll aboard is the garment section will accommodate full hanger garments like suits, dresses, and outerwear. Spinners won’t. If it meets the width requirement, a 2-wheeler will go down any airliner aisle. All my soft sided luggage is carry on only. All my check bags are clamshells.

Those bags are slightly larger than American/United/Delta’s allowance of 22”x14”x9” which include handles and wheels. Travelpro advertises as being able to fit in the overhead bin and count on those airlines as not (currently) strictly enforcing carryon sizes and the customer to do their research on the airline’s bag allowances. I think this is an important distinction to highlight. The “compact carryon”meets the 22”x14”x9.” I tend to be risk averse with a preference of traveling light so I opted for the compact carry one crew classic spinner. Thanks for the video. It is by far the best video on these bags. I would have made my purchase months ago had I seen this video!
P.S. I don’t know if it is still true but I don’t have straps on my bags because conveyor systems may “eat” those straps should you need to check it.

    • @ALinsdau

I've flown on Delta at least 12 legs this year and no one blinked at either of these as a carry on, including on an ERJ-175 regional jet:
      www.delta.com/us/en/aircraft/embraer/erj-175
If the gate agent sees you have a medium size bag or it's too big, they'll have you gate check it.

What I want to know is if the crew classic has honeycomb walls. I have an older Crew 8 25 in for over 20 years, which has this feature.I recently purchased the Maxlite and returned it because the side walls are too flimsy. Does the crew classic or any newer Travelpro luggage have these sturdier walls? Yes, I know it will be heavier. I'm a military veteran, and fortunately, I dont have to pay for my baggage

    • @ALinsdau
      @ALinsdau  3 месяца назад +1

The Crew Classic is more rigid than the Maxlite 5, but the side walls are not super rigid. A hard case might be a better choice? Thank you for your service!

Very comprehensive review! Ty! Changed my mind. Going with Crew Classic. Do you carry these on? Sounds like you don’t. Any reason to not carry either of these on? Also, the airtag and labeling and items you use are great tips. The front kermit flap - do you carry a laptop? I very much appreciate your review.

I used the Maxlite 5 rollaboard and a 40 liter backpack for a 35+ day Europe trip this past winter. I started with nearly an empty Maxlite so I could carry gifts back. My backpack had most of my clothes. I had to plan for cold temps and rain. Travel safely!

I packed for 3 weeks in an approved small jet size. Went to laundromat twice. I'm tall, so no teeny clothes or shoes. I put socks and undergarments under the zip up lining to fill channels. No one in Italy noticed that I wore same earrings every day! Finally, I have learned to pack light.

    Feedback:
-Try not to overdo the "badboy" thing. Please. It gets a bit old after the first time.
-Accurate measurements matter, especially if you end up dealing with persnickety airline gate agents. Saying it is "about" 14 and a half inches or "about 22 inches" is not as helpful as it could be. Plus, you should measure the back of the bag, where is a flatter surface. And airlines luggage size criteria do include wheels and handles.
