Fantastic sound track on the best ever adaptation of the whole Robin Hood story. Ironic that it was a proudly celtic / Irish folk band who were chosen to provide the music for the biggest ever folk hero of English legend.
If you were rustic, rural England back in 1180 you were 80% Brythonic dna. The invading Saxons and Normans were elite warrior class and numbered a few thousand .
That's actually a fair observation, Mike Bradbury. This is much closer to pomp prog than the Clannad I knew & loved. Just feel that they're swamped in this 'big band' incarnation (see my comment of Sept 21 2018)
Greatest folk/Celtic music band ever! Their vocals, the amount of instruments they play, the wonderful music they compose - it's all brilliant. Plus they are the loveliest people I have had the honour of meeting.

Mum watched Robin of Sherwood when she was a kid in the 1980s, and recently bought the show on DVD, and I watched it with her and got into it too (to my taste, many of the newer Robin Hood movies and shows are too grimdark, but this is old enough to be balanced). Ive been rewatching the Robin of Sherwood series. Started watching in the 80s and fell in love with it. Jason Connery is so handsome. And Judi Trott as Marion was the most beautiful Marion they could have picked. Also Nicholas Grace as the sheriff is superb. Love to all in the series
The Legend album was the first non-punk, metal or new wave vinyl I ever bought and it opened the door to the likes of Pentangle, Steeleye Span and Fairport Convention. Cheers to ROS and to Clannad- still great after all these years.
God so true. Never tire of "Robin of Sherwood". But as time goes by, we know we will never see it's like again. Plus we have all aged, some have moved on, but it can still still evoke memories and emotions as when first aired, (i was a sweet innocent teenager, now in my 50s, older but no wiser, alas). During my visit to England , I couldn't make it to Sherwood unfortunately. Their music, however, is absolutely amazing. Lady Marian and Michal Frade were loved unconditionally by everyone, I believe.
