  • The discussion behind iron curtain doesn't seem good for the authorities.
    Only after more than 36000 killed occupiers and unprecedented sanctions russians begin suspecting that something is wrong.
    Here is what they write in local social media...

      Ukrainians are much better soldiers than the Russians ever were. They kept fighting the Bolsheviks for eleven years after the end of WW-2, alone and without any help even though it was hopeless. Just as the Scots dominated the special forces in the United Kingdom, Ukrainians formed the core of the special forces in the USSR. Ukrainians build the aircraft, missiles and other weapons for the USSR. They also formed the core of the Soviet Army and Airforce. Russia will continue to bleed as long as they keep killing my kinsmen and women. It is impossible to truly conquer Ukraine, because they will keep killing the enemy as long as it takes. Many speak fluent Russia and can pass for Russians. They are infiltrating Russia and killing the enemy and blowing things up. So even if the West stayed out of this one, Russia will still lose lots of troops, then lots more civilians. As I said, Pyrrhic victory.

    The dollar to ruble exchange rate shouldn't even be paid any attention to. If a Russian person wants to exchange to dollars he would have to pay a lot more than the official exchange rate anyway. On the external market the value of the ruble has risen because currently Russian exports have outweighed imports so ruble quantities abroad have been lowering, also because Russia is demanding oil payments in rubles. In reality the ruble is basically a zombie currency.

      @@richay1 Probably.
      Coupled that with the oil inflow it would dramatically improve Russia's economy for trade.
      Honestly, this entire "operation" has been a shitshow.
      The famous Russian woman who revived Russia's economy after the fall of the Soviet Union even tried to resign, rather than attempt trying to save the economy.
      She was, "persuaded" to stay on and work.
      Lord knows it's bad when that wizard immediately tried to bail once the war began and the FIRST sanctions hit.
      Russia is in a really bad spot.
      Had it gone the NATO route it would have a golden goose in the west, and no hostility in the rest of it's neighbors, and coasted and grew as a nation.
      But nope.
      Ridiculous is the sin of pride amongst the old man reliving the war they grew up in, for glory.
      Only to tarnish the young.

    • @celluskh6009
      @celluskh6009 2 года назад +2

      @@richay1 No, Russia makes their money from exporting oil, so a lower exchange rate makes the oil, denominated in Euros or dollars, worth more. Note the constant questions from Italy and other struggling Euro currency countries about whether they should drop the Euro so they can devalue their currency, or the accusations for decades that China has kept their currency artificially undervalued for this reason. A strong currency helps a strong domestic economy so they can use their surplus to import goods or invest overseas, but harms a poor and export dependent country.

      I went to a few russian videos on youtube and translated the comments section. To my surprise, most of them seemed rather skeptical of the war. Made me think that the 'Russians' in the comments sections of western videos are probably paid trolls. Then again, in remote villages of Russia where support for Putin is highest... they're not all going to have the luxury of internet access.

      There is more decent being shown publicly. Some Russian RUclipsrs are using the phrase 'war'. Many 'Russian on the street' interviews are critical & prone to mock the government. Not a landslide yet, but it is growing. '1420' channel is getting more interviews that talk more freely.

      A minority can very quickly grow into a majority. It is still very early, when they realise that the luxuries that they have come to both enjoy and expect are gone and life becomes much harsher, the longer this goes on, then unrest will grow and grow quickly.

    I have been watching this whole war carefully. What I see right now, on the Russian side, is that they have over extended themselves. The principle of Aikiado (the martial art) is to use the enemies inertia of attack against the enemy by deflection reflection tactics. You try and BIND your enemy with the very thing they attack you with. I see a little of this echoed by the reports on the battlefield. There is the signature back and forth attacks. I think, who ever the ukrainian general is, he's one hell of a strategist.

    • @travishanks7295
      @travishanks7295 2 года назад

      Nah buddy the real problem with the Russian military is a lack of faith in their higher command. It's the same thing that will cripple china. They promote people not by experience but instead by affiliation. When this happens the lower ranked soldiers think they are being lead by an inferior commander.
      Also war is about taking action when the opportunity presents itself. In communist countries soldiers are afraid to think for themselves. They are afraid of being persecuted for making the wrong decision. Therefore any advantage the soldier could of had has been lost waiting for approval.
      The United States and western countries promote officers by expertise and knowledge. We constantly teach about taking the opportunity when presented and not to fear about making tough decisions.
      There is absolutely no chance Russia and China will win against the United States and Europe

      I, too, have seen this. The Ukrainians appear to be using Putin's fixation with the Donbass as a way to bring all his reserves into the region. This will mean that other sections of the front will be less heavily defended and more vulnerable to breakthroughs and exploitation by Ukrainian units. I hope the Ukrainians can pull it off.
