Can’t wait to watch this old bastard’s Movie Friday.
i'm seeing it on saturday.
lmao
I read this in an aussie accent.
Eric Banas performance as Chopper Reid is one of the most memorable and enjoyable I've seen.
Kenny is such a great film! Glad to see it mentioned. Very thoughtful though highly entertaining at the same time
Good on Miller for showcasing some great Aussie films.
This makes me want to rewatch the Criterion release of Walkabout, a truly stunning movie.
Top 10 all-time for me! Get your hands on Criterion's 4K release if you are able 🙌
I've only heard of GALLIPOLI. I like it when I get to learn something from their choices. 😊
Miller is the GOAT. Love hearing his perspective on Australian film!
The man the legend George Miller
I didn't know these films, but now I'm happy to catch them if I have the chance!😉
thanks to George Miller!😊
I can't wait to see Furiosa, come on, it's not long now!🤩
Never thought i'd see kenny in one of these vids ahaha
I love that I've already seen three of these, guess I gotta watch The Sentimental Bloke and surely some more really old Australian films.
I have my tickets ready for Furiosa's premiere this Thursday! I AM STOKED!
Wise and careful choices.
Kenny, watched on the bus to cadet camp in Year 9, and swore it was a documentary - so well acted and authentic!
I like those glasses
My top 4
1. The Castle
2. Chopper
3. Priscilla Queen of the Desert
4. Looking for Alibrandi
Great Aussie director. Love Gallipoli and Mad Max
The Castle - such a classic, they dropped it's best line into a Marvel movie!
Sweet Country - heartbreaking spiritual sequel to the cycle of violence first addressed in Galipoli
Which movie?
@@Elitist20 Thor: Ragnarok (2017).
Valkyrie, selling Thor to Grandmaster: "I take 10 million."
Topaz, Grandmaster's chief enforcer: "Tell her she's dreaming."
Wake in Fright (aka Outback) - bizarrely by the director of Weekend at Bernie's!
Proof
Romper Stomper
Picnic at Hanging Rock
One of the most strangest filmography in any directors. He went with the typical drama Lorenzo 's oil to babe sequel to happy feet to of course the mad max franchise. Truly a interesting director
That’s what makes him special
@@suntzu9777 Yeah i agree, haven't seen the 98% of his filmography but mad max fury road was amazing, babe 2 pretty nice and happy feet was a not good.
"Gallipoli" is a war that carries a lot of pain for Turkish and Australian history, and this movie that introduced Mel Gibson to cinema is also very good.
Road Games is a great Australian film too of a chase across the outback, though it's a bit more Duel than Mad Max, still very underrated
Breaker Morant
The Castle
Gallipoli
The Man From Snowy River
(And do yourself a favour and track down The Little Death).
I've never seen Kenny but it sounds like the Australian version of Perfect Days, must check it out.
Lol it’s good, but it’s definitely not that
I always forget Peter Weir is Australian
so that's where he's getting those fury road blue filters from.
I've met George Miller. He's a nice guy.
1:20 isn't the movie called Ten Canoes?
de Heer did both films. Ten Canoes in 2006, and Twelve Canoes in 2009
@ModestEgg Yes, i have checked and you are right. It seems the 2009 is a collection of short films. Maybe he actually meant Ten Canoes as it was a full-length feature film.
10 Canoes.
Huffing gasoline fumes is the most important part of our culture
I wonder if he's ever seen any Greek films.
KENNY MENTIONED!!!!!! WTF IS A JOB PROMOTION????!
No love for Muriels Wedding?
I feel like he really only spoke about white colonialist culture of Australia and then mislabeled ‘ten canoes’ the only indigenous Australia film he brought up.
Another great indigenous film worth checking out is the 2009 film Samson and Delilah if you are interested
1:23 Why no Aboriginal characters or even extras any of the MAD MAX films Miller? It would be cool to see MAD MAX rebooted some day with an Aboriginal actor playing him and him being obviously written as a native. Furiosa too.
There's one in Fury Road, during the quick hallucination montage at the start. i.imgur.com/4iK1z2g.png
Quaden Bales is a First Nations actor. And he is in upcoming furiosa film. And was in Millers last film '3000 years of longing'.
For a genre/exploitation guy these are excellent deepcuts
Thank goodness he didn’t mention The Castle.. 😂 one of the most overrated films that makes me cringe
no walkabout, picnic at the hangingin rock?
