Chance Thomas is by far the best composer that works on LotRO. Beautifully crafted, atmospheric, high quality music, with memorable and moving melodies. If the earlier regions of the game are revamped, I hope they get Chance Thomas to compose some fresh music to dilute Stephan DiGregorio's often rather dull and generic sounding tracks.
I think this was the last time the studio had a large pot of money for an expansion. The dev time spent on multiple iterations of mounted combat behind the scenes, the exceptional music (and they could hire Chance Thomas still instead of going in-house) and the big marketing campaign they had was rock solid. A shame mounted combat actually put a lot of people off the game and I think breaking Helms Deep into a seperate expansion toyed with what the average MMO player would have expected from seeing Rohan in the title.
Thats true. I got to know the game in 2012, it was the passage between Isengard and Riders of Rohan, it was very popular. You can see how the trailers are elaborated during this time. And even tough i never reached Isengard on that time the Rohan Frenesi was huge, everyone felt it, players VIPIN just to get a Rohan armour and a horse; i never saw a promoting wave so strong in the game. The servers were full, so full that even the starter regions had players SPARING (today i never see a sparing contest). The mass of people wanting to see what was to use a horse was outstanding. Then i left the game and after i returned since some years i was suprised to see how nothing like this expansion happened again. The trailers were in live action! If you research you will find out that the popularity was GREATER in MORIA and ROHAN days.
Not to give a rush but I think the rest of the open-Rohan [excluding special areas] could have their music gathered quick, and I think Edoras music [What Will Be, To The Braves, Almost Home] could be bundled with Norcrofts as they used to be played across the Westemnet, with Kingstead using Norcrofts music. And besides Hytbold, you can easily get an instance combat into the filter by quickly going into Snowbourn with a few enemies on the chase [and the record button ready], though there's a *whole* lot of instance music so i don't blame the huge delay on that
Haha, it's funny that you should mention the instance combat actually. That video is already compiled and finished, but I intend to release it alongside the general instance video, so that's the reason for the delay on that. As for Edoras, those tracks will most likely be their own video, as well as the old Helm's Deep tracks that have been replaced by newer pieces. Aside from that, I'm only missing a few instrumentals from The Wold, and then that video will also be ready to go! It's fair to expect that one within the next couple of weeks, and possibly the instance ones as well. Thank you!
@@LOTROSoundtrackCollection Not strictly related to wold, but that does remind me, where would the Wildermore abandoned house "Hearts of Men" flute fall under? [as far as I know it's only ever used there]
@@thetinyant5251 That flute is part of the Valor of Men suite, which I included on the Lone-lands video. The second flute part is from a track that was called "Love of a Maiden, Fair and Pure", however I have been unable to find the full version of it. I contacted Chance Thomas directly about it, and he told me a little about the its creation, but was unable to provide me with the full track. When or if I find the full version of that track, they will get their own designated video.
I love the Rohan soundtrack, hope they will work again with Chance Thomas and use more live orchestral music!
WOW thanks for the consistent uploads of lotro’s ost!

I hope you do the Dwarf-holds one day because i really like the alternative version of 'Dwarves Will Fight for Dwarves'.
This channel is a treasure. I'm abashed they never released one or more albums with these soundtracks!
