Love the words of encouragement at the end Tyler! Thank you for taking the time to document your progress and keeping us in the loop of where your mindset is on the build!
Great respect for your comments at the end of your video. Your like the Bob Ross of custom fabrication! Just some ideas to throw out there for future episodes.. your workstation and tools and education background..cars of the w platform that this might be applicable to.. electric volvo power steering.. hydroboost brakes... big cadillac rotors and calipers.
When I told one of your buddies about the J35 swap that I’m going on my ‘49 GMC he told me to check out your builds. I an absolutely loving the Granny National! Keep up the great work and thanks for the encouragement to just keep building the things that make me happy.
Oh, now that'll be a pretty unique setup! Glad to hear you're liking the build here and even happier to know it's a source of motivation for you! Whoever that buddy of mine is, be sure to tell them to get me some pictures of what you're doing!
The 1st car to be able to check the oil Inside the car..😂. I'm having a hard time seeing this with the engine so far back , but anxious to see the next video. Keep bringing YOUR visions to life.. Thank you for sharing your craft. 👍🏻
@@AutoTechTyler Picking up my front and rear subframe assemblies this weekend. Did you make a fixture off of the mustang shell for locating your upper strut mounts, or what was your method?
My first car was a 1993 Chevy Beretta GT. I always wished that car had been rwd. Im loving the content. Dam, what the haters think you are motivating me. Im currently doing a LS swap into a 1966 C10, a 2GRFE V6 swap in my 1991 Toyota MR2 and rebuilding the L98 in my 1992 Z28.
With how the engine is sitting in the car it reminds me of the 4th gen fbody engine compartment, which in my mind leaves more room for the turbo, radiator and inter cooler, sure it looks a bit wonky without the all that stuff in there but ultimately it’ll fill in that void
Also, as a GTO owner, I love this. Keep doing what you’re doing. If you want to really irritate the naysayers, I looked into it, and the wheelbase for a GTO is almost spot on for a W body. You know, if you ever wanted to try and put a 95-99 Monte Carlo body on GTO underpinnings or something 😂
Honestly though, and you may be able to agree with this, the aftermarket support and parts availability for the GTO platform isn't anywhere near as vast or growing as the S550 Mustang stuff. I'm not sure that I would want to use that in a conversion like this.
@@AutoTechTylernot only is it abysmally small, but unless you do major rear tub or body surgery, you can’t fit much bigger than a 265 tire in the rear without rubbing the body. That’s why mine has some basic bolt ons, and that’s it.
Man that progress, gonna have the done before I finish my Vette lol I’m jk I’m almost done. But great to see the progress man, keep up the great work. I’m gonna bring the Vette down when I’m able too. Hopefully before LS fest or else we can just go down like the 3 amigos
Hoping to be able to take the thing for a spin before the end of the year, the car will still need all of the body work done, which will take quite some time, but that's ok. Can't wait to see you again man! Excited for LSFest!!
What are the chances that the donor car firewall and tunnel could have been “tweaked” a little to use in the W Body? Maybe cut from top of the cowl? This is all VERY inspiring! Thanks Tyler!
I am wanting to perfect the process without the need of a Mustang body in its entirety. The less I need from the Mustang itself, the easier it is to replicate this process and build more of them. Glad you're enjoying the videos! I'll keep them coming as I can!
@@AutoTechTyler Understood. I certainly don’t have any problem using parts from the donor car, the more the merrier! Anything that would make this easier. You’ve done all of the hard work! Are you considering making all of the mounts available for purchase? I can’t wait to see a whole fleet of these W-Bodies on the road! Thanks!
I have, but not for something that I still want to retain some comfort and "factory feel" on. I like the idea of leaving the choice for poly, rubber, or solid mounts depending on what the car will ultimately be doing. A motor plate with solid mounting may make the vibrations too harsh.
@AutoTechTyler I'd say why not have best of both worlds? Motor plate to a poly bushing OR ( swapable?)solid bushing mount to the chassis/ subframe. No disrespect for your solutions you came up with though. Great build can't wait to see more!
Great video Tyler. Even after watching your last video series on Suzie Q, I'm still blown away you're able to make this work! That's a pretty big hole in the firewall though. How much of the interior do you think you can reuse now?
It'll still be getting the full interior. This hole and the location of the drivetrain is identical to Suzie Q. The main thing I'll have to get creative on is the center console, but we'll cross that bridge once we get to it. Pedals will be much more manageable as well since I'm only dealing with two of them, being an automatic transmission.
All this & not a single foul word…
Just amazing! I am impressed young man…👍🏻👍🏻

I love this type of stuff my dream was to put the last monte carlo body on a c6 chassis 😁

Your videos have been extremely helpful in planning out my own conversion using Mustang subframes in another car. Love every progress video.
Glad to hear that! Always a pleasure to motivate and/or help others with their projects through these videos. Keep on building!

Coming along amazingly, you got way bigger balls than any keyboard warriors and I cannot wait to see how this one turns out!! 🙌
Tyler if you're looking at small cars for hvac boxes, you could probably check the geo platform. They were super small from what I remember.
Amazing as always. I miss my 02’ Regal GS. #StayMotivated #BuildItYourself
Looks badass so stoked for this build!
So when I need a grand prix RWD I know who I’m going to hit up🔥🔥🔥
Hey yeah I was thinking check out geo metro or ford festiva hvac boxes

Jeep Liberty has a shallow dashboard. Maybe the HVAC box out of that is equally small?
I'll have to check into that! Didn't think of one of those!
Have you Ever thought of making motorplates for mounting the engines in the cars?

I bet a chevrolet G10 van hvac unit would fit in there, or even one from a corvette?
How much for something like this, I have a 97 regal that I got from my grandma and I don't want to scrap it😂

Or maybe a Honda fit they are tiny ass cars or a ford fiesta since you’re already using ford stuff anyway lol
Although Hondas have notoriously bad ac systems so maybe a fiesta is the way to go idk should check it out cause you can still get em easy lol
