Nicely done, I quite like the Patriot camper style brackets but this also works.. many ways to skin a cat.. Something to consider.. Perhaps put valcro on the RTT flysheet and the awning, that way you don't have a gap where water will come pouring in when it rains ontop of the trailer and your kitchenette area. The way a awning is usually installed you dont have to worry about it cause your car fills that gap. but when you extend it out like what you did it becomes wet mess.. I have seen on plenty other camper trailers where they used awnings on a similar way that you are using it that they close the back of some way or another, by either the flysheet that goes over the rtt that attaches to it or just closing off the back completely.
Greetings from the Philippines! Your adjustable awning brackets looks excellent! I have been looking for good solution to raise my 2.5m awning for another 9 to 10 inches when setting it up and lower when travelling. Thanks for sharing your video. Please let us know how it holds on your camping trips. Mabuhay!
Thanks for commenting Jun, we will do an update once we have been on some gravel roads, South Africa has some nice rough roads so it should be sure to test it. At the moment we are busy getting the taller brackets cut and bent, hope it will solve our height issue.
Very nice idea. How will the water run off be in rain, with the rooftop tent side window awning opening above the side room? Will it flow off, of the room top or pool and sag? Have you considered and compensated for that?
Hi thanks, with the awning we drop one of the front legs lower and this allows the water to run off, you could drop both front poles down a bit too We have camped in light rain already and didn't have an issue. The awning room has its own roof as well so there is a double roof. We still need to see in excessive persistent possibly driving rain what might happen.
Hi Shane we are busy having the new mount brackets laser cut when they are installed we will take a measurement and let you know, at the moment they go to about plus minus 1800mm.
Hey. I don’t normally make comments or suggestions like this and would’ve preferred doing it on a private message. Perhaps you guys know what a bicycle quick release skewer looks like? If not please check it out, perhaps something similar in design could work well instead of having to turn the 3D printed knobs every time. I hope you don’t mind and really you don’t feel like I am knocking your cool design. 😇🙏
Thanks for the reply Willie, it was actually something we thought about and might still try it, we were just using what we had on hand as proof of concept. Thanks for the suggestion much appreciated.
Hi, we still needing to test the durability of the aluminium structure, it is also made specifically for our rack setup where the slat protrudes, it doesn't have a fixed frame around the rack, which we think is different to a slimline rack
Great little set up. Just got my hands on a Metalian maxi. Some inspiration here for doing sole mods. Thanks for sharing
Thanks, you will have a lot of fun, there is endless possibilities with these great trailers.
you guys are amazing
Thanks DarkRabbit just sharing our developments, so it can maybe help others.
Giving away,intellectual properties !!!!!
very nicely done, I was considering a similar idea, and it's very helpful to see how you have made it work
Thanks David, glad the video can help.

Hi. Can you perhaps share the CAD of the brackets please?
Are these available for sale? This would be perfect to raise my awning to a comfortable height since I have a low slimline II bed rack
