I agree with you. Joey is gradually inching her way up, but it's a slow process for her as well as the new artists. Sammi along with Sandy Lam are the only singers in HK who are still players and legends in the Asian entertainment spotlight, with Faye and Sally in partial retirement. In general, I find that the quality of songs have deteriorated in recent years. Listening to Joey is like chugging cheap beer, Sammi is like sipping red wine and Sandy, she's like sipping champagne.
Joey herself can't seem to be doing Sammi Cheng's lines as well as Sammi. These days, it's never about what the singer can sing out, but it's more about the appeal on their facades. The song's title is "Let's Talk About Love". Joey Yung is nowhere in the same boat as Sammi , Sally or even Sandy Lam for the matter.
I don't think she "tries" too hard to bare all...I think it's just that sally actually just naturally have a very very strong voice..She has always always sung like that...whereas joey has always had a soft voice so sally's voice is heard more clearly...

If you people are going to continue arguing and insulting about Sammi, please take it somewhere else! Sammi has been resting for the past few years and she also came out of failed relationships. Joey just seems to be rasping on her voice and these days it's never about ability or substance. Even the Overseas Chinese communities know what Sammi has that Joey doesn't and Sammi is a lot more respected by the International audience. Maybe she needs some guidance from Teresa Carpio again.
Hey, just want to remind you that the record holder for consecutive best female artist is Anita Mui, who won 5 consecutive times from 1985-1989 for 5 years. But I still like Joey.

sallys voice is tooo strong, it covered joey.. it has no techique at all. a good singer is suppose to correlated with one another but geez.. towards the end, i hear nothing but sallys voice.. i mean shes good n all , but tries way too hard to bares it all.

Sally is excellent! I like joey too-sweet voice.However, like what the rest said, the current crop of singers clearly doesnt have vocal strength.
