An early birthday tribute to Priscilla Lane (June 12, 1915 - April 4, 1995), who became the most famous of the four acting Lane sisters (Leota, Lola, and Rosemary were the others). Today she is best remembered for two films - "Arsenic And Old Lace" (1944) and Alfred Hitchcock's "Saboteur" (1942) but she also appeared alongside James Cagney, John Garfield, Dick Powell, and Lawrence Tierney just to name a few. Priscilla retired from show business to focus on her family and died of lung cancer at age 79. Although not as well remembered as some of her contemporaries, she was an entertaining actress with a charming naturalness and was well-liked by both male and female moviegoers. Background music by Dean Martin. Enjoy!

I only discovered Priscilla Lane two months ago when TMC aired “Four Daughters.” I found myself mesmerized each time she appeared in a scene. She simply lit up the screen. Forty years ago I fell in love with a woman in college named Theresa. I called her the girl with perfect eyes and perfect lips (TGWPEAPL). We didn’t get married and I never got over that, but it’s uncanny how Theresa had so much in common with Priscilla. Beautiful lips, a captivating smile and eyes that sparkle and can melt a man’s heart. I love Ingrid Bergman in “Casablanca,” but Priscilla has the top spot in my heart among actresses. She was enchantingly beautiful. ❤️

Love Priscilla. She was one of the most natural actresses of the 30's, 40's era. I especially loved her work with John Garfield, and my favourite movies of hers are Daughters Courageous and Four Daughters both with JG. Thank you for this delightful video to commemorate Priscilla's Birthday.

What a way to end your tribute to my favourite actress from this era! Doesn’t she just light up when she is paired with John Garfield? The chemistry is amazing. They are up there for me as one great film couple pairing💕 I wish Priscilla had made more films.
    Thank you Muirmaiden 💖

So lovely. Her eyes so expressive, her smile infectious, her charm disarming. A fresh face any guy could fall in love with, and any guy would be lucky to have her.
