Brandon Vandenburg and Cory Batey, both 21, were convicted of multiple counts of aggravated rape, aggravated sexual battery and other charges after a 12-day jury trial in January 2015. A new trial was granted after it was revealed the jury foreman has been a victim of statutory rape. According to evidence, including graphic images and videos shown during trial, Batey sexually assaulted an unconscious student in a dorm in June 2013 while Vandenburg encouraged and filmed the act.
Bravo to this Prosecutor. Beyond excellent summation of these heinous crimes done to this young lady.
Nicely done. I've never seen a prosecutor cry during closing arguments before. String him up by his balls, I say.
I don't know that I have either. For me it added authenticity and sincerity to her argument. It's not the best summation I've ever seen, but it was a very good one.
I must have missed that the vids and photos were for the 1st 45 sec. Shine a light what the hell did they do for the rest of the time. That "Sleeping" roommate who couldn't really hear anything in the obviously "MASSIVE" room needs to spill the beans instead of trying to save his own backside!
Yes, that's a question that E.L. raised in her victim statement. It's difficult to imagine that the remaining 30 minutes could be any worse than what we already know about. In any case, it really isn't beneficial to dwell on something that can never be known.
The withholding of information, after all, is the last vestige of power that the abuser has over the victim... It's much better to deny them that.

Jeez! That's convoluted! She's made it sound a lot more complex than it is... "You're going to be applying some rules to a scenario" would've been sufficient.
Jan Norman in other cases has been nothing but a screwup but on this one she hit a grand slam
I don't have any of her other cases for comparison, but I thought she did a very good job with this case.
I'm a latecomer although I've watched a lot of the videos I am getting the part of what Batey the handsome good looking Christian boy actually did to the victim was purely atrocious and degrading . Wow what a horrible ordeal for the victim. Alcohol didn't do that!. The good Christian raised demon named Corey Batey did this. He did all of that to an unconscious young woman. What a doggish behavior! Nice Corey Batey. You will meet your match..if you haven't already in prison. OMG 😱 I feel horrible for his mother. It is not her fault.
I treat my trash better than Batey treated the victim. I take time making sure it's secure and not messy . Corey Batey didn't do that!
