Following your instructions. Found there is a second torx screw that is hard to reach on the back of the bottom plastic cover. Need a flexi attachment for screw driver to reach, ordered this and will attempt again.
Great guide chap, was looking for something like this to upgrade a friends Focus from prefacelift. Also worth mentioning you can also use Ecoboost steering wheels in the Focus, I put a flat bottomed red stitching one in my ST line, all buttons work as expected :D
I did this on an Escape, it's a much bigger pain in the butt to get the steering wheel off. I have an Explorer and the airbag has holes on the sides to release the clips. No taking the plastic off.

Can I ask though when you finished installing yours did you get any stored fault codes that won't clear ? I'm now getting a stored code something to do with the cluster control configuration. It won't delete so I'm assuming it's because the wheel is a different configuration to what's stored. It was clear before I did the conversion so it's definitely related. It's not a big problem as everything is working as it should but it would be good to know if you had the same thanks

Hi. I’ve read that the 2014 clock spring had the same part number and the facelift clock spring. The replacement I was looking at simply states clock spring 2012-2018. Can you confirm whether or not the original clock spring should work??

This sensor, shown at the begining of the video had just one grey plastic gear, but the older one have 2 plastic gears. Later on it is shown the new sensor with 2 plastic gears also. only watched 4 mins so far but why not put flat metal plate or cheap baking trays under the front wheels so it make turning them so much easier and save the rubber especialy when battery is disconnected ? great video very imformative 🙂

I’m not too sure about that as mine had voice on the right side of the steering wheel not extra buttons. Your best bet is writing a post asking other owners and see if they have any experience. 😊

There is no programming required, rather just checking the sensor information to make sure the clock spring is reading 0. Take your time and you'll be alright, nothing too complicated! 😁

I actually bought the old C-Max from my dad so he could get a newer one, but he really misses his old steering wheel… and I would really like to exchange our steering wheels, but are you sure that it’s necessary to change all the other parts?? If it is, would it then be possible to exchange the other parts as well? Hope you’ll understand my English (I’m danish)
I’m not sure if you can just replace the steering wheel without the clock spring. I’ve only done this change once on my car so can’t really comment on others. 😊
Did you have to declare this to your insurance? I want to do this mod but my car insurance is already pretty high monthly and can't afford more really. Does this count as a mod you have to declare and does this impact the price of your insurance? Would love to know what you did. Thanks
I managed to install it and everything is working, apart from the buttons that control the trip computer, they control the radio aswell as the right side? Any fix’s or ideas. Please let me know

@@xiolage Is your model a Diesel i’ve read that petrol is pretty straightforward can be done in FORscan. Have to use UCDS for Diesels as FORscan can’t reprogram the BCM.

Hi everyone, i have a ford focus 2012 and have retrofitted my steering wheel with a 2016, now i have two issues, one is that the airbag light wont turn off, and second is that I no longer can control the display on my IPC and the d-pad control’s the radio. Any help would be highly appreciated thanks you
@@Freakishd yea, just keep in mind that you need to cut the old connector from the old airbag and splice it to the new one so that the airbag light turn off, for the dpad buttons you gotta rewire it, like splice each command to each cable
I actually prefer the older wheels. I have the old one in my Escape and the new one in my Focus. Way too much shit going on with the new wheels. The old ones were more intuitive.

The wiper controls do need to be changed but in all honesty it’s super simple. Forscan is the software used and it uses the ELM cable. 😊

Original clock spring will not work. The buttons on the steering wheel will not work on one side.

I don’t have a video but it’s fairly straight forward. Most forums have detailed instructions on how to do it.

You will need to buy the harness of find the wiring diagram of that harness. I just bought the harness and switch from a breakers yard all in one. 👍🏼

it fits to the steering wheel offcourse, but does it fit the car electric system in case of operation
The airbag control module recognised it and no error codes showed up. I’d say it’s happy.

@svtshotti I think someone else had this issue and it was the harness was the wrong one. Make sure it’s a facelift harness with the facelift wheel!

These are factory “snowflake” Zetec S wheels, available as an optional extra from new. They’re 18”. 😁
