I recreated Sword Beach Queen Red Sector, specifically WN20 but better known as "Strongpoint COD", or the "Twin Villas". This is the most historically accurate LEGO D-Day Moc that I have ever attempted!
Very big thanks to...
- @TheMiniBrick for sending me some WW2 LEGO minifigures - www.theminibri...
- @BrickByDesign for sending me the Sherman Duplex Drive - www.brickbydes...
- @DWBrickStudios for letting me use his DDay LEGO Stop Motion Short!
CORRECTIONS:
- The beach had to be compressed somewhat so that I could fit it onto the baseplates, so this lego dday build isn't perfectly to scale.
- After further research, it does appear as if 1st Battallion South Lancashire Regiment mainly landed in Queen White Sector, so I should have given greater priority to 2nd Battallion East Yorkshire Regiment.
- The majority of the forces would have landed in larger troop transport, or even tank transport landing craft. For example an LCT, LCI(L)... and so on.
- The left building of the "Twin Villas" isn't precisely the right shape.
- I'm not certain on the position of sandbags and such, as there are no images showing what was where, well none that I could find.
- The Royal Marine Commando Bagpiper "Bill Millin" is wearing a Gordon Highlanders Tartan, on the day he would be wearing Clan Cameron Tartan.
- Most of the British LEGO minifigures are WW1 uniforms, some even Canadian & Austrlain Lego World War 1 uniforms. Of course, they should be wearing WW2 Uniforms.
- When introducing officer casualties, I accidentally said 2nd battalion South Lancs and showed SL cap badge, when I meant to say 2nd battalion East Yorks.

I specifically wanted to recreate a lego d day build that wasn't omaha beach. I feel like the history of the other 4 beaches are quite overshadowed, and simply looking at the massive pile of lego dday mocs on youtube will demonstrate this nicely. Whilst the landings at Omaha Beach were particularly horrific, there's a lot of heroism and also trajety to be found on the other 4 beaches, and the battles that would surely follow.

Brilliant video!😃
It would be great if you could do a mock on the Irish revolution?🇮🇪☘️😃👍
Ok
How much for 10 billion people
It was a honor to be showcased in this video, but the moc was so well made and accurate and one of the best I’ve personally ever seen.
Na thank you mate, your stop motion was absolutely fantastic!
Hello Luke you will never escape from me
Luke I love the last hour realm it’s honestly great
lmao wuz gud luke
lmao wuz gud look
I challenge you to build a guts and blackpowder Paris battle against the zombies!
THATS SUCH A GOOD IDEA
That would be really cool.
Thats actually a pretty good idea
literally just read your discord message on the other screen lol.. in fact i'm watching you type as i reply to this
We need to get Scot to do this
Hey, at least I got featured for 2 seconds! 18:11 (that flak gun submission)
I swear every time I see your videos they get better and better can't wait to see the next one
ahaha thank you, i do try to make them better each time.. but the builds just keep getting bigger and more time consuming lol
@@ScotsPlasticbro can only get so good until he has to start new wars for conetnt
I like those kind of videos more than the more challenging formats. If you take your time you can build so much cooler MOCs, im only 6 minutes in and I love it.
fantastic thank you, i really enjoyed the journey of learning and building as i went tbh
Another peak video. Congratulations to everyone who entered the contest!
Star's Nerdy Corner: Though many people know about the pacific, eastern or the late Western front, many other, somewhat forgotten front's were happening at the same time, such as the Italian campaign, which 2 days before the d-day landings took Rome, in Finland, Soviet forces began their Karellian campaign which would make them switch sides and join the Allies to push the Germans out of Finland, or in Yugoslavia which around 10 days after the landings the resistance groups would unite to focus their forces on the germans together. There are also a lot more fronts, such as the Burmese and the Chinese fronts.
I love how you chose to do sword beach as most British beaches tend to be overlooked
yeah that was sort of what I was thinking, overshadowed and not spoken about enough
@@ScotsPlasticCan you do Juno next
Really awesome moc! I am so glad to see you took your time to plan and really appreciate the building progress of building a moc because that is what moc building is about and I think you are getting that now. I also thought the beach choice was an interesting pick since most of the time the British beaches are overlooked and don’t get much time in the light as the American beaches do.
I have seen plenty of Lego D-Day Mocs but none and I mean none of them have done as much research and have put as much historical accuracy into this kind of moc, you’ve gone lengths that no other moc builder has ever gone including looking at photos of the time, including accurate landing craft, soldiers, and details, you have gained so much respect from the history buff community and Lego builder community, I applaud you on this one
Side note: you’ve come a long way from making a simple Lego build, this is a masterpiece
Scot, eastern front when???? Your builds are cool, but more eastern stuff would be appreciated!
yay - let's spent another £1000 trying to buy a whole new minifigure army for a different theatre lol
@@ScotsPlastic i know but it would be fire🗣🔥🔥🔥
I'm so happy this is posted lmao
you and i both ahah
Ad is so emotional it made me cry
:O
I skipped it >:)
@@BillfromIdahoI did too
Hi Scot this build was your best one yet. I’ve seen almost all of your lego builds and i myself have been building legos for 9 years and watched 1000s of hours of lego RUclips and this moc is in the top 100 you build big but still mage to pack in a lot of detail. You’re on your way to become a truly one of a kind lego builder.
Your an amazing RUclipsr man, the amout of dedication you had to research you did to make sure that this moc is 100% historically accurate is very good on my opinion. Keep up the good work! 😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
One of my favorite weeks!
First JB Brick productions uploads
Then Mitsi Stuido
And Scots Plastic with an operation overload vid!
Your building techniques has defenitely improved ever since your early videos, keep it up scot!
Amazing work Scot! Thank you for reviewing our products ;)
I would love if you turn this into a series with all the beaches as historically accurate as possible
Thanks Scot you made me do a lego stop motion for once again, and it was fun and one of my best works
It was really good!
@@carlyiam thanks Car Car

When you were putting together the online blueprint for the moc, you said it lacked detail and wasn’t that great. Genuinely, imo, that basic design was better than what a majority of builders do these days, at least on RUclips. Well done with this excellent moc!
This is absolutely beautifull i love it. Just a suggestion tho , you haven't really made any town battles or just city battles so i would suggest maybe making a Liberation of France moc , Caen moc or even a Berlin moc? ( It would be cool if you built some early war mocs like Dunkirk , but its pretty hard to find early ww2 british and french minifigures )
You upgraded from every video this is the best moc you’ve done in my opinion!
Scott I was just in Normandy and I saw a museum that contained the twin villa pictures. There was a destroyed wall in the front with holes to stick guns through
Dude, you’re so good at building Mocs!! And just looking at your first moc on the channel, you’ve come along way!
Things that I found wrong:
1. The german soldiers who are reinforcing their comrade have a paratrooper helmet which
2. N°4 commando seem to have the wrong uniform, look up for the Commando Kieffer also they landed first 30mins before the others, they were pretty significant in the battle
3. There was a bunker at the left of the impossible to build house, few meters were you ended the build
Some details you could have included:
- a 50mm arty is shooting the allies while they are landing, who killed alot of the officers
- Many tanks were obstruing the beach, destroyed by germans
- Some decals to show the tank brigade for exemple would have been awesome
I found all these informations on internet and books, excuse me if I am wrong and tell me where if so
Read the description for corrections
@@ScotsPlastic
I did sir
1. That's because they are paratroopers, and they were stationed in hermonville su mer
2. As I said, there quite literally are no lego minifigures from 4 Commando to purchase. They don't exist, so I can't use them. And no4 Commando were not the first to land. 1st bat south lancs and 2nd bat east Yorkshire were. Check order of battle.
3. I know
Detail replies
1. There was no artillery position so close to the beach, so this would just be wrong
2. I don't have more than one tank, so I can't add them.
3. Fair enough
@@ScotsPlasticNah. Only 1 or 2 tanks made in on the beach so that kinda correct. Second Fallschirmjager were present on operation overlord but not on the beach.
@@ScotsPlasticoh and ever part of the Atlantic wall had some artillery on a 10 km strecth. Basically an artillery position was there. It was a 100 smth artillery as i remember but not on that exact part.
And 3rd a pak-40 was present there it was 2km behind the house
This guy just destroyes my 4 minifig war in 21 minutes
i know i'm really late but as a half historian i have to point it out. At 17:49 You showcase us german Blietzkrieg Soldiers (1940 late), but the problem is that on their helmets there is the stahlhelm which has been removed from every helmet up to 1941. The stahlhelm represents WW1 German Empire it has been introduced to the army in 1916 and ended in 1940 (it took german reich a year to remove it from most of the helmets)
Think you need to re-word your comment old boy as it doesnt make much sense
Love the mention of the 2nd east yorks especially A company commander ‘banger’ king, later on in the campaign, I forgot the name of the village, but he formed a rugby scrum and charged all the way through the bull
I know this may be hard Scott but can you make an eastern front battle please? IT WOULD LOOK SO COOL
Actually, Early War uniformed Lego characters could be used for this MOC as Germany back in WW2 (and WW1) didn't really standardise their uniforms, so you could see someone in an M36 uniform in 1944 or 45
This dude deserves an award for making the most historically accurate Lego D-Day. Scot is literally the king of making Legos historically accurate.👋👍
You’re certainly getting better. I would advise that you take a look at your layering next time. Increase the stud-tile ratio. That will improve the ground work.
Awesome work, awesome moc!One of the best Lego ww2 things I’ve ever seen.
Dang this is a really impressive recreation. It's great to see you referencing contemporary photographs, maps, and documents!
im currently in Normandy! going to Point Du Hoc tomorrow!!
I really enjoy how much effort he went for a Lego build
The detail you put into this is unimaginable.
You could have had the parachutor behind the two villas
Idea what you can build next could be the battle of Verdun
Looks like you’re learning how to interlock plastic like a pro. You can really see that the quality of your builds only keep growing
This build is amazing but one thing you might want to add to the beach for little waves is get clear cheese slopes and use dark tan like the sand is soaked and farther back you can use regular tan sand
Yeah I agree.. I messed up the water
6:35 erm actually scot🤓☝️
Allied soldiers didn't land right on the shore , they actually landed, maybe 10 to 15 feet of shore. The water was sometimes so deep that soldiers would drown, sometimes nearly 5 feet submerged underwater. Their equipment didn't help either. The standard us soldier wore almost 80 pounds of equipment on their backs. Many soldiers met a watery demise this way. Why the boats landed so far out was so they could go pick up more troops to land on the beaches of Normandy. I wish they had those amphibious craft sooner, and maybe a lot of soldiers would have gotten saved from a watery grave😢
This video was actually amazing, the moc looks great and the attention to detail was very good to see, in a sea of generic American vs German beach battles. I could go on a whole spiel about BetterHelp but I'm sure you either know, or will be told by someone much more qualified than I, so I'll focus on the contents of the video itself.
Shame that you had to use innacurate minifigs, but when they're all crammed on the landing craft in the background, it hardly matters. Excellent job, Scott.
I'm rlly happy how you're giving other D Day beaches attention. Maybe if you do this again, you could include some more of the modified tanks that were present especially the really funny looking ones that were mainly on the British beaches
My grandad was in the Suffolk regiment, one of the first that landed on sword beach and this video reminded me if him so thanks
A gem of a video and I'm glad that you did a actual historical accurate d day for the British as well with a few Scottish instead of a very common Omaha beach with American's. How do you raise ranks in the 92nd regiment? last question Scot could you do a hacksaw ridge moc because you have a lot of Japanese figures? I love your videos and your channel. RIP Scots bank account.
Honestly Scot I can barely make a small house, you did amazing.😊
I remember the amounts of 1x1 plates I needed for some of my builds haha. I would say I like a combo of the different coloured trans ones more than plain blue
Could of just asked me and I'd have sent you the pictures of sword from my holiday, the 2 buildings are still the same, along with all the sand dunes.
I was half tempted to go myself lol
You should make an Italian front moc
I am glad scot had spent so many time making these great video for us to watch earned a sub
This MOC is absolutely insane! Definitely your best one yet!!
SCOT CUT BE FIRE🔥🔥🔥
This is by far the best build so far You could try to build the city of caen or carentan there where also heavy fights during the following days of d-day
Hey Scot you should do a Lego ww2 eastern front MOC
“I’m gonna find u and snap ur leg😀”
Got me💀😭🙏🙏
Saving private Ryan was one of my favorite movies of all time when I get back home from school I watch it
Looks great! Historical accuracy is great and you can tell the amount of effort you put in!
thanks, i really wanted to get it right - i have listed my mistakes in the description
i’ve never been this early to a video before
i've never been so video to early a before
Hi
@@ScotsPlastic
@ScotsPlastic hi I join Minecraft event
me neither
just an idea to build even more detailed mocs is set up a smaller space limit making you condense your parts and can help you try new techniques
Very good video Scot 👍🏻
Great build! Surprisingly I immediately remembered that UB did this exact same moc. It was displayed at their toy shop so i was glad you made one too.
They did??? ahhhhhhhhhhh for god sake just when i think i have done something original ahaha.. are there any pics?
@@ScotsPlasticI think I may have a video of it, I’ll post it on the discord
I’m surprised the Sherman got ashore seeing their track record during the landings
I'd like to see a recreation of the sinking of the bismarck ik it will be big /huge but it'll hopefully look as good as this one
We need Scot to put this in Brickmaina Showcases it will be a good video
SO REALISTIC AND SO TRUE TO REALITY THANK YOU SCOT
you also could use transparant blue and occasionally white studs
as an Aussie i’m glad he included some Australian minifigures
Actually this moc isn’t accurate because the soldiers weren’t made of legos
Yes they were😂
@@GossmerGaming nah not in real lofe
Nah they were Lego 😂
Shut up🤬
You should make the German spring offensive in 1918
From building Minecraft dday, to building Lego dday. Beautiful.
You should do is a tank battle with the tiger 1 tank, and a butterfly tank. And the rest are pazers 3 and M1 Sherman’s
The Fallschirmjägers are wearing early war uniforms, by this time you would rarely aee those in Normandy 1944. Which unit are they supposed to depict?
This is a realy good build men! I am proud at how much better you got from the start! This is a realy good build keep this up!
this is a really good build wow it looks so good
This is your best build you’ve ever done it is just beautiful
You should try to make a battle of the bulge moc in 15 hours
i don't have the bricks or figs yet.. but i plan on
🔥
^
You shoud build the Battel of the bulge in Lego or a band of brothers moc😊😊 love the vidz❤❤🔥🔥
my grandfather was in D-Day, great build👍
8:14 WHAT DID THE JEEP EVER DO TO YOU😭😭😭
8:13 I helped you make the destruction of the jeep more satisfying for any of you monsters out there
another banger vid again like i have been on this channel since you even made the first vid
Amazing. Your building skills have improved so much!
this isn't my best looking build I don't think, but i was going for accuracy over aesthetics
@@ScotsPlastic not many people talk about Sword Beach so it’s cool that you decided to build it.
You should make a navy ship battle or a dog fight battle or something nice video btw :D
The twin villas switch sides the entire video 😮
14:35 that looks familiar to any Enlisted player who’s played on Normandy Campaign
ahaha yes i thought the same
youre getting good at this scott, insane build
There is a dust particle on this German mini-figure? REMOVED
BELLEAU WOODS BUILD!!! … Pretty Please Scot?
Thank you bro, because of you I started building German army I have 800 of them now
HOW DARE ME NOT BEING SUBSCRIBED IM SORRY SCOTT IVE WATCHED YOUR VIDS FOR 2YEARS NOW😭
Sup Scott, love your videos! I’m going to try to see if I can afford 2 of those soldiers and make a mock of my own!
Next can you do juno beach my step great grandfather landed there
Also tip: next time you do this if you want you should put red studs in the water to look to blood.and the clip of the solders running out of the boat wasn't sword it was juno
one of your best builds, where do you recommend getting these minifigures?
21:37 NICE POLAND
DAMMN... You have come such a long way
You can actually keep early War uniforms, way more accurate because troops didnt change their uniform per year
