- FIRST OFF, I HOPE IN ANY WAY THIS VIDEO DOESN'T HURT ANYONE FEELINGS, THIS VIDEO WAS JUST FOR FUN AND WOULD APPRECIATE IT YOU DON'T DISLIKE JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T SHIP IT, I LOVE RUCAS AND I LOVE LUCAYA, I LOVE ALL THREE OF THEM, THIS VIDEO WAS MADE FOR FUN, I REPEAT MADE FOR FUN.
second off, there are soooo many glitches but because of my lazyness i didn't want to have to go back and fix everything because this took me like 3-4 weeks to do, haha.
CAN YOU GUESS THE AU?? LEMME TELL YOU :
lucas and maya like eachother, at the start with the whole "I thought this was what you wanted maya" he is trying to get her to confess her feelings towards him but she won't, because of, RILEY. she loves riley more. all of the b&w are basically explaining how there story went before all of the colour scenes, which you can tell is both of them like eachother. but riley likes lucas as well and maya doesn't know, when she does, she breaks off whatever she has with lucas, then you got the scenes where rucas and joshaya are together, both clearly trying to move on, it isn't until riley see's maya is unhappy and confesses that she loves lucas like a brother, (which in this au, is correct and true lol after some soul searching on her part) which gives maya the leap to confess to him that she does like him. they begin a relationship but they break up over the fact that lucas thought maya was cheating on him with josh, from all those other times of seeing them together (jealousy i guess) but what he doesn't know is that maya was helping josh get a girl he likes. then they fight and fight and basically have nothing left in them, when lucas breaks up with maya, maya is heartbroken.
TA-DA. haha, didn't think i had it in me to make a full video BUT i had so much inspiration and i hope you like this!!

Reasons I ship Lucaya:
1- CHEMISTRY: IT'S JUST THAT THE CHEMISTRY IS ALWAYS THERE. LITERALLY. EVEN IF BOTH OF THEM ARE FIGHTING AND YELLING AT EACHOTHER, THERE IS JUST SO MUCH CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THEM. NO RUCAS SHIPPER CAN DENY THAT.
2- PEOPLE CHANGE PEOPLE, THEY HELP EACHOTHER: MAYA CHANGES LUCAS. LUCAS CHANGES MAYA. GO BACK TO THAT ONE EPISODE WHERE LUCAS WAS GETTING READY TO BEAT UP BILLIE. WHO STOPPED HIM FROM GOING BACK TO TEXAS LUCAS? MAYA DID. IN THAT SAME EPISODE, A LITTLE BIT BEFORE, MAYA WANTED TO GO FIGHT THE PERSON THAT WAS BULLYING FARKLE, BUT WHO STOPPED HER FROM DOING SO? LUCAS DID. LUCAS STOPPED MAYA FROM DOING SOMETHING SHE WOULD REGRET, AND MAYA STOPPED HIM FROM GOING BACK TO THE PERSON HE HATES. TEXAS LUCAS. THEY HELP EACHOTHER. THEY NEED EACHOTHER.
3- THEY HELP EACHOTHER HAVE CONTROL: THIS IS SIMILAR TO WHAT I SAID BEFORE, BUT YET SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT. THROUGHOUT SEASONS 1-2, LUCAS HAS SHOWN ANGER MANY TIMES FOR HIS FRIENDS.
FOR ZAY, HE GOT READY TO BEAT UP A GUY.
FOR FARKLE, HE WAS READY TO BEAT UP ONE OF HIS CLOSEST FRIENDS ON THE FIELD.
FOR RILEY, HE BROKE THE COUNTER.
YET, FOR MAYA, HE'S NEVER ACTUALLY BEEN ANGRY. WELL, ACTUALLY, WE DONT KNOW THAT. HE MIGHT'VE BEEN ANGRY, BUT HE WAS ABLE TO CONTROL IT. MAYA HELPS HIM HAVE CONTROL. SHE MAKES SURE HE DOESN'T LOSE HIMSELF.
4- MAYA ACCEPTS ALL PARTS OF LUCAS, UNLIKE RILEY: IN THAT EPISODE, I THINK IT WAS GIRL MEETS SECRET OF LIFE, RILEY REFUSED TO ACCEPT THE PERSON LUCAS WAS BEFORE AND MADE HIM FEEL BAD ABOUT IT, WHILE MAYA ADMIRED IT AND EVEN SHOWED SUPPORT (BY HELPING HIM HAVE CONTROL, LIKE I STATED BEFORE) SHE WAS THERE FOR HIM WHEN RILEY WASN'T
5- AGE GAP BETWEEN THE ACTORS: I'M SORRY, BUT I HAVE TO PUT IT OUT THERE THAT IN REAL LIFE, MAYA IS 17, LUCAS IS 17 ALMOST TURNING 18, RILEY'S 14, AND FARKLE'S 17. THIS AFFECTS THE CHEMISTRY A LOT. WHEN I SEE RILEY AND LUCAS SCENES I THINK 'BROTHER AND SISTER', BUT WHEN I SEE LUCAS AND MAYA, IT'S A WHOLE NEW LEVEL. THEY'RE SO COMFORTABLE WITH EACHOTHER WHILE RILEY AND LUCAS ARE SO AWKWARD. THE LOOKS THE EXCHANGE ARE THE BIGGEST PART OF IT THOUGH. THE LOOKS HAVE SOMETHING THAT CAPTURES THE AUDIENCE REALLY WELL. IT'S SOMETHING THAT MAKES THE AUDIENCE FEEL SOMETHING, WHILE RILEY AND LUCAS LOOKS ARE JUST PLAIN ADORABLE, NOTHING ELSE.
6- HE SACRIFICED A DATE WITH RILEY FOR HER: REMEMEBR ALL THAT TROUBLE LUCAS WENT THROUGH TO GET A DATE WITH RILEY? REMEMEBR HOW IN THE DATE, TE ONLY PERSON HE KEPT LOOKING AT WAS MAYA AND HOW SHE WAS DOING, NOTICING HER SADDNESS. AT THAT MOMENT, HE SACRIFICED A MOMENT HE REALLY WANTED- FOR MAYA. WHICH ALSO MEANT HE HAD SACRIFICED ALMOST A YEAR OF HARD WORK, TRYING TO GET RILEY TO GO ON A DATE WITH HIM- ALL FOR MAYA. -SINCE HE HAD LIKED AND WANTED TO ASK OUT RILEY SINCE THE START OF 7TH GRADE.
I'M SORRY, BUT MAYA AND LUCAS ARE JUST BETTER.
