Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower ruclips.net/user/postUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.

I got the 80v a week ago and love it.Much quieter and mows just as good if not better than my gas mower did. I can save some money on gas especially with prices going thru the roof now.Came with the mower, 2 batteries and the charger. I definitely will upgrade my 40v trimmer and blower to the 80v

I had the same 19 inch mower with a brush type motor. St. Augustine Grass is heavy and the mower labored on tall grass. I purchased an extra 4ah battery to finish mowing my front or my back lawn. I split them up between different days. I purchased the mower with an extended warranty from Lowe's. The brushes wore out on my first one and Greenworks sent me a complete new mower to honor the warranty. The batteries last about 4 years. When two of the three 4ah batteries I had died, I decided to replace the mower with the 80volt Kobalt mower from Lowe's. The 21 inch mower is almost too large for my lawn and is a lot heavier to push, but the 80 volt unit does not bog down and finishes the half yard on one 2ah battery. Greenworks sells an 80 volt 21 inch version as well as a 60 volt unit. The Lowe's version was cheaper and available locally. A 19 inch 60 volt version would be great for heavy grass as I have.

I like that the fact it doesn't throw a lot of grass everywhere, which helps when I cut next to our pool. In this instance having less power is helpful.

I have an older model than yours of the same Greenworks 40-volt lawn mower that I bought back in 2015. I still love mine and have not noticed any problems arising from when it was new other than a little corrosion on some parts that probably should have been stainless steel or at least painted. A slight advantage of the Greenworks series was I also got their chainsaw. This means that I have three sets of batteries and two Chargers. With three sets of batteries I can run the chainsaw almost continuously as long as I take the dead battery out and put it into one of the Chargers immediately. After a full day of cutting wood and the batteries being continuously on the hotter side I have not noticed any degradation in battery capacity. Good work. Long-time subscriber. Aloha.

All of my outdoor hand tools are corded -- and even if I cut the cords occasionally, and I do, I still vastly prefer them. Used to own (for 12 yrs.!) a Black and Decker 18" mower, corded -- and LOVED it. It ate small tree roots, rocks, bricks, and heavy grass like a Cookie-Monster goes through chocolate chippers. It finally burned out (wires melted), and I tried to rebuild it twice -- I liked it that much. Ran over wires, yes (several times -- wire nuts and electrician's black tape got it going again); used a 50' extension cord and 120v 15 amp power, and LOVED it. I would buy more of those if I could find any new. The Greenworks 20'' mower my wife purchased when the B&D died cuts fine (stalls in heavy wet grass, but that's okay) -- BUT the batteries are good on average for maybe 20-30 minutes each (4 hr. type) and 15-20 (2 hr. type) in very DRY grass in my suburban yard; I have two 4 hr. ones and one 2 hr. (came with the mower), and often cannot even finish my FRONT yard, which is not that big. It takes two or even three days to do both front and back -- when with the Black and Decker, it used to take 3 1/2 hrs. overall in one day. I HATE these batteries and will not purchase more. When it goes, I will find a corded model again, if I have to make one myself.

Hey Tech, Thanks for the great vid. With the stock, 40 volt battery that comes with that machine, how may minutes of run time do you get? And, to charge the battery properly, do you have to wait until the battery is cool to charge it again? Then, after you charge it, do you have to wait again for the battery to cool before you use it?

    • @brianisles2705
      @brianisles2705 Год назад

@markmolinari777 Hey! I can answer your questions!
The battery lasts between 30-40 minutes depending on how much I use the self-propelled feature. I imagine you could get up to 50 minutes if you just push the mower the whole time through medium-length grass.
You have to wait for the battery to cool down (the instructions say 30 minutes, but you can get away with 15-20 minutes most of the time). It takes just over two hours to recharge. We were able to put it right in the mower from a charge without any issues.
I hope this helps you out! Be well!

@@brianisles2705 Hi Brian , Thanks. Since I have bought the mower and used it a couple of times, I have found when the battery is dead, it takes 1.25 hours to charge it and I can get about 45 minutes of use out of a fully charged battery. The machine works ok but, ofcourse it's not as powerful as my gas machine. The only reason I bought it was because my town banned gas-powered mowers as of the start of june. Today I was using this model and noticed something I am concerned about...Last week I mowed my front lawn and charged both batteries to full afterwards. Today i mowed my back lawn and after using up the charge in one battery, I switched to the backup, which should be fully charged, but noticed when I pushed the little green button it showed only one out of four lights. So I plugged it into the charger, and the charger told me it was fully charged. So I figured the battery had a set of bad indicator lights, I start mowing and it turns out I should trust the indicator lights because after a few minutes the battery ran out of charge.
So my main concern is that my charger is giving me a false green light when the battery isn't actually fully charged. :/

    • @pan6479

Bought one of those; the battery is sorry. You need to have at least 3 batteries to mow your lawn, or keep recharging the one it came with and stopping mid-cut. And batteries are expensive. Probably wouldn’t buy it knowing what I know now. Take that for what you will.

Your allergy might also be from the petrol and exhaust fumes in addition to the grass clippings. I know that when I use a petrol powered mower, I dump my clothes before showing at the back doorI don't track grass clippings through the house. Once I'm done and I throw the clothes in the basket, they stink of petrol.

If you get this, buy two batteries. Because it takes 2 hours to charge and you barely get an hour of work done. Another thing, this thing sucks. My full yard is 0.18 acres. I can’t even finish my backyard before it dies.

Of course the main question is how many years will that expensive Li-Ion battery last?

Bought my 60volt 5ah in June 2019. I am mostly pleased the mower. New it mows the entire yard on one charge. The down side is after only 2 years my battery is to week to mow half the lawn and a new one is $179. That would cover about 240 weeks or more than 4 years worth of gas. Not pleased with price of batteries at 179 every 2 years... vs 4 years worth of gas.

That thing sucks! My father in law bought one! Charged the battery, cut for about 35 minutes he paused for a few sec. to catch his breath! And when he tried to restart it! It wouldnt start! And the batterie was still full! The problem is once the batterie gets hot you either have to let it sit and cool off, or throw it on the charger! But if you try to recharge it! It wont do, because the batterie is hot and now you have the charger telling in Red! That is too hot to charge! Now youre wasting time and more electricity in trying to charge the damn batterie pack! I dont think that machine is suitable for large grass yard area! Only if you live in a city like chicago, where the yards are so close to each other and you only have a small area in the front and a small backyard!👎

You know this is a piece of shti. Don’t lie. I have one. How much do the batteries cost now that they don’t work anymore? You might as well buy a new mower, rather than batteries.
