@rumba rumba - most mum’s do a good job, life’s tough and secure attachment can be damaged by life events that distract mum from giving the child the attention they need at a vital period in their development - typically this might be sibling illness or death, family breakup, mum gets depression or gets cancer and is distracted and can’t fully engage with the child for 6 months. Most insecure attachment is not the fault of bad parents, it’s the result of life being tough. To get a better world full of happier people we just need to help each other a bit more, that’s all we need.

That's not entirely true... The attachment theory applies when the child is left alone with a stranger in an unfamiliar place, and in this case, he was not. Even so, it does seem like he's in a very loving household ❤
@@whazatt236 sure, but the same principles are involved. He knows mom is coming back. He feels safe and secure enough to look around and explore instead of crying or watching the door for her to come back. Even though there’s not a stranger in the room, you can see the same basic ideas at play

The key factor of the attachment theory's experiment is the fact that the child is left in an _unfamiliar_ place with an _unfamiliar_ person. We can see that in this video the kid is left with what seems to be the living room or the bedroom.
I don't often hear of times when children begin immediately crying after their parent leaves them in a familiar place for less than a minute, unless there's another factor that is involved (such as the parent leaving the kid after she gets mad at them). That's because children are already used to their parents leaving them for a minute or two to grab something. It's no surprise that this child wasn't worried when his mother left him for a bit.
Again, I definitely don't think that this kid does not have a healthy attachment style, I am just trying to explain why this situation should not be compared to the attachment style theory's experiments because they are nothing alike. I know that the unfamiliar place and stranger variables seem to be very small, but they are key parts of the experiment. And I'm sorry if I sounded rude, that was by no means my intention.
