Wow! This is the first review for something like this I've seen that doesnt assume it's absolute unusable garbage and actually gives it a chance to do its job. Great vid man, you deserve more subs
Glad you enjoyed it, I was just gonna clown on It at first, but it really surprised me and I thought it deserved more respect (at least when it's as cheap as I got it for)
@@expert2090 Well obviously it's not made by nintendo but the chip it has inside, is nes hardware (it executes nes code without emulation) that means that it doesn't have any lag just like a real nes (unlike emulation). It's not perfect, the colors and sound are a bit different but I think for someone that wants to play a few popular nes games on a crt is a great experience
So is it an FPGA then? as that's what I thought it was, like mostly plays exactly the same but with a little bit of emulation (if that make sense). I would have thought that emulation would be the cheapest way for these things to go.
@@expert2090 No it's not an FPGA. From what I understand with an FPGA you emulate how the hardware function in software (that is why with an FPGA console you can get multiple gaming systems, because you can define the hardware in software). With nes clones tho it's much cheaper because you get all the hardware (cpu gpu the nes motherboard in general) and you make it in to a tiny inexpensive chip

The TMNT game plays that way even on NES
oh ok, never played it before, I don't think it would have the screen tearing as well though would it?
Cool

Well it's definitely not original hardware that much I know 🤣

Interesting, perhaps that's why it works so well on a crt even, I couldn't notice any input lag at all which makes mario bros a lot easier
