- Hamilton revived its special Ham4Ham concert series outside the Richard Rodgers Theatre May 5 to celebrate the Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd and their eight 2023 Tony Award nominations-and it was a thrill of a time!
Stars Josh Groban, Annaleigh Ashford, and the entire cast of the current Sondheim revival joined Lin-Manuel Miranda and the cast of Broadway’s Hamilton to perform a special mash-up of songs from the two shows’ scores.

The switch from "Alexander Hamilton" to "The Ballad of Sweeney Todd" gave me goosebumps - but that ending, my God! Chills. Everywhere.
I have been blessed to work in several industries where the competition is friendly and helpful. But the Theatre community is like no other in terms of collaboration and support. Each show on Broadway (and Off-Broadway) are "competing" for the same audience dollars, but it never looks like competition. It looks like friendship. It looks like family. It looks like love.
That’s most theatre communities.
Accept when auditioning. Then the competition wants to cut your vocal chords or snap your achilles behind the curtains. 😅
@@maartenkos98 You mean "except". This has not been my experience at all. I have met many wonderful people in the audition room, some of whom I've never seen again (but I still remember , even nearly thirty years alter), and some of whom have gone on to become lifelong friends. The cut-throat-back-biters are very few and far between.

@@Miss_Myth those are actually the lyrics from the 2016 version. youtube title is "Broadway's Hamilton - Opening Number Homage to Sweeney Todd". This song by the original hamilton cast.

Anyone who wants to see a very similar number with the original Hamilton cast, look up their performance from the BC/EFA Easter Bonnet competition a few years ago! One of my faves
I was at this performance! I had to climb up and stand on scaffolding to get a good view (Most of the street was taken up) but it was worth it!
This was EPIC!! Also love LMM’s nod to Jonathon Larson with the Moondance Diner shirt 🥲

It's so great to see Gaten come back after the success of Stranger Things! Coming full circle, back to where he came from.
I didn't notice that was him until she started singing and he cracked that big grin. He's having a grand time.
I have chills and they haven't even started singing! I loved this when they first did the song a few years back at the Easter Bonnet competition.
This was amazing, and impressive they looked like they had the time of their lives doing this.
No substitute for the talent that's on display here...When Ham 4 Ham plays...Fridays @ 4pm are going to be very lively outside the Richard Rodgers theater this summer...

Are you talking about the guy in green jacket? If so, that's Miguel Cervantes a/k/a Alexander Hamilton. He was Hamilton for the entire multi-year run in Chicago - where I saw it (and him) twice. He's excellent. Much better voice than LMM and a great actor.
