I know the video is 3 years old and a bit has changed since, but this was informative. As was including the links in the description. This was a good launching point to explore and learn more. Thanks.
Are these data available as part of api or bot ? we wanted to build an integration for MS TEAMS phone with our application. Any documentation on this would be helpful
Hi there, great question! Not at the moment. For now it’s a meeting function but I can see this coming to phone as well, similar to how recording, transcriptions, and captions are there now. Great idea and valuable, thank you.
Hi there Could this system be set up to use virtual assistants from another country Eg I am in Australia and would like to set up some VAs from Phillipines Thanks
can you use the phone system license and calling plan on the Business Standard license? Rather than the E3 or E5? We are looking to replace our phone system and use Teams?
Good news! You don't need an E3 or E5, you can add Teams Phone to your business standard license. You can either add the phone license + calling plan separately, or there is a combined phone license + plan (Microsoft Teams Phone with Calling Plan). Either works with your license. Details here and checkout the FAQ at the bottom as well: www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/microsoft-teams-phone
@@CollaborationSimplified That is good news and we'll be able to use Teams as our phone system. On another level, if we utilize Vonage, or Ring Central, or Nextiva as a cloud phone system, do THEY require an E3 or E5? I am getting mixed information back. They call it Teams integration where it looks like you're using Teams for everything, but you're using their service. Two said they require the E5 and one says they only require the phone license. Do you have any more information? Thank you!
I'm not exactly sure what those companies are telling you, but my guess is that they want to provide you with the phone number portion of Teams Phone, ie, they want to be your PSTN or Telco carrier and integrate to Teams. Versus you getting your numbers directly from Microsoft using our Calling Plans. Both are viable solutions and what they are proposing is either direct routing or operator connect .. I've done a couple of videos on both of these if you want to become more familiar. If you decide to use them as your Telco vs. Microsoft, you just need the Phone System license from us, which can be added to your license model. I'm biased cause I work for Microsoft, but I like the simplicity of getting it all from Microsoft the phone license + plan :)
Good info. Thank you. Is sms/mms available in teams? I know messaging exists between team members but what about just the general public sending or receiving sms/mms to and from my company ?
Great question! Today SMS is not available with Teams Phone, though it's on the roadmap. ACS (Azure Communications Services) does offer SMS and it can be integrated to teams.
@@CollaborationSimplified thanks for letting me know. We recently migrated to net2phone but I'm not as sold as I want to be. I'm looking for a Microsoft solution since we are already using office 365. I guess we may have to wait a bit longer! Great video

Hi there, by VA do you mean auto attendants in a particular country or phone users?
