I did heli flight from Kathmandu to kalapathar in April 2018 with my daughter and then did trek to EBC in November 2018 and fulfilled a boyhood dream of seeing Everest 🇳🇵
@@ivanleone82 I did heli flight in spring to base camp and we flew over the summiteers in their tents which was quite exciting to see but doing the trek we were told oct/nov was better as less crowded on the trail,we had -20c overnight and about zero during the day,stay safe

Very nice work... did the trip in October 2016 as a 68 year old... you've captured the whole experience very well, EXCEPT.... the two incessant sounds. The welcome sound of Yak bells coming downhill toward you so you can have a rest for a few minutes, and the damned helicopters going up and down the valley to rescue optimistic hopefuls who underestimate the preparation and effort necessary. It's not cheap to be ferried out! Glad I did it-- bucket list stuff, now not available cos of Covid and my rapid deterioration in fitness! Great work.

I’ve watched a lot of videos of the trek from luckla to Everest base camp this one is spectacular, I don’t know, having not been there if the colours of the scenery are this vibrant but these images are really beautiful. Your best bet is to fly to Kathmandu and plan everything once in Nepal, this will be much much cheaper. Try to be as light as possible. I brought a sawyer mini water filter and was able to use it daily on every stop without the need to carry lots of water everyday.

The trip was March of 2018. The weather was perfect as it wasn’t too cold. I highly recommend it, hope you get to do it soon. The glacier part most people don’t visit it so make sure you check it out is close to the actual base camp.
That was a GREAT video, so clear and it was relaxing to watch. When staying in Kathmandu, does the drinking water need to be treated, do they provide bottled water or!!!

Glad you liked it. If you have a medium physic you should be able to do it. I exercise regularly, never done a marathon and was able to do it no problem.
Why did you go both up and down via Tengpoche, when there is a much more interesting and impressive trail on the opposite side of the valley going Namche - Mong La - Phortse - Pangpoche? Tremendous views across the valley, lots of wildlife and almost no trekkers. Takes the same amount of time, good lodges in Phortse. Tengpoche can be visited on the way down.
@@Wonderliv Some kind of misunderstanding here, Phortse route takes exactly the same number of days as the standard route. Just that Tengboche night, in you case Pangpoche, would be replaced by Phortse. Or you could go all the way to Pangpoche also like you did, but using the High Scenic Trail. Next time... Several people have blamed time concerns when asked about this, I suspect they just not were even aware of the more interesting Phortse variation but do not want to admit it.
Man how far is the place @ 40:51 from basecamp point where people click pics. I went to ebc back in 2018, but didn't encounter that. Is that even further to ebc point

@@Wonderliv Some kind of misunderstanding here, Phortse route takes exactly the same number of days as the standard route. Just that Tengboche night, in you case Pangpoche, would be replaced by Phortse. Or you could go all the way to Pangpoche also like you did, but using the High Scenic Trail. Next time... Several people have blamed time concerns when asked about this, I suspect they just not were even aware of the more interesting Phortse variation but do not want to admit it.

Man how far is the place @ 40:51 from basecamp point where people click pics. I went to ebc back in 2018, but didn't encounter that. Is that even further to ebc point
It’s actually not on the path. It’s at a lower point close to ebc.
That's maybe 1/2 hour from Gorak Shep on the way to Everest Base Camp. You have to climb down from the path onto the glacier to see it.
