Hey Mixed Martial Academic I've watched you for over 2 years now and you might remember me being one of your first patreons, It's actually insane to see the way you've grown and producing videos rivaling the quality of real UFC promotional footage. Keep up the great work
Its interesting to me that the heavyweight division has a shortage of fighters compared to other divisions...and yet, it is arguably one of the most (if not the most) popular divisions for fans. UFC should incentivize heavyweights so there isnt a future shortage because nobody can beat a future champ.
Makes sense, the only reason other people are champions is because of weight divisions. The most dangerous fighter in the world is going to be heavyweight
There’s not a lot of people who are 225+ and choose to train in fighting, mma or boxing. There’s other sports for them, football and rugby being the main ones, and they can be multi millionaires damaging their backs and knees with some concussions throughout their life from tackles. Or the can make a fraction of that, and get nearly guaranteed multiple concussions yearly.
Its because in lower weight classes there is still an uncertainty, yes these guys are good, but people still think they could fight them and win Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight are undisputed in the mind of the populus Whoever is the Goat of heavyweight, whoever is a dominant champion in heavyweight, its the baddest man in the planet
I don't think he is delusional at all.. I think he has something on his own personal agenda $$$$ that is making these fights lately.. Probably on some financial ledger as he exits.. Still a pr!ck of the highest order..
You'd think Dana would understand reverse psychology? Jon shouldn't even be included in the HW talk. He's done jack sh*t. While Tom has been setting records & destroying everyone in the division. Yet Jon gets to hold the Belt hostage & the division hostage. Just so Jon & Stipe can have their retirement fight.. It's ridiculous how much this is blocking the HW division. It's got in the way of Tom's career. It's just annoying how much this has altered the MMA landscape.. *Also I've seen some people blame Tom for it from not happening? WTF? Nothing Tom could have done would have changed the fact that Jon doesn't want to fight Tom.
Looking back seeing Dana not tear down all of Aspinall's accomplishments like he does nowadays makes me so depressed. Its like the whole MMA community rolled and got the bad ending. The UFC pandering to a spineless, wife beating, steroid abusing coward in Jon Jones is something I wouldn't have picked on my 2024 bingo card yet here we are.
The very first time i seen Tom was before he was in the UFC, i judged him, i didn't like his face, it was too narrow and goofy looking, but then i heard him speak, i noticed how humble and likeable his personality was and by the end of the show he was on i was a fan. Then i watched him fight, holy smokes he's so polished and so good. At this point i only want to see him face Jon Jones, i know he's better than everyone else, i gotta know if he can beat Jon.
I am always left so impressed by the quality of your videos. I really don’t think there’s many…. If any people that care as much as you do and put in as much work to give these fighters a voice and show their human side. I appreciate you
Hey man I just want you to see that I truly appreciate how good your videos are. People who have never worked on producing something dont actually understand how high quality this channel is. Sounds silly but youve helped me too, keep it up man.
This man is only going to get bigger stronger faster and better...what I going to enjoy is watch this man fight...and to see just how big he gets...because fighters as young as him don't get smaller...they get bigger and better...he is a fight that learns from each fight...
The fact that he is SO humble will make him the people’s champion. Outside of that, there is nobody (bring on the boxer, doesn’t matter) that can stand skill for skill with this guy. If you’re a striker, he will match you then beat you into submission on the ground. If you’re a ground specialist, he will match you on the ground and find a way to beat you into submission on your feet. This guy is the real deal and he has demonstrated it time and time again.
THANK YOU for making this video my man! The more people draw attention to how ridiculous it is that Jon is trying to dodge Aspinall for a much easier fight and then retire, the more it will either force Jon’s hand to fight him, or make his retirement all the more embarrassing.
Great to see a skilled low-key fighter with a genuine personality doing so well. So many fighters are trying to be McGregor or have their own gimmick to get the fans interested.
This might be an exaggeration. But Tom is quite possibly the baddest man to ever live on this planet. Since the beginning of humanity there hasn't been 1 man that could take the present version of Tom in a fight. Change my mind.
I agree. I've been a martial artist since I was barely 9 (Judo, BJJ, Kickboxing, MMA). My father and brother too. My father said for ages that every single man has one weakness. No one man has it all. Some are fast, strong, hard hitting, well rounded, but then still have a kryptonite like a weak chin. Some are incredible but lack one talent like speed or explosiveness, making them lack knockout power (Jon Jones himself is an example of this). Some just have a shit gas tank and can only maintain their skillset for a few minutes at most. Some can't grapple. Some can't strike. The rare few that can do it all are 5'3 135lbs guys like Demetrious Johnson. Tom Aspinall is the first fighter I have ever seen who legit has it all. 6'5, 255lbs+ fight weight at a 270lbs frame. Moves like a welterweight (seriously, this guy is faster than Dricus and Strickland). Hits like Ngannou. Has a chin like George Foreman. Has the best boxing at 265, and arguably the UFC in general. Has insanely good reflexes, takedowns, takedown defense, submissions, kicks, shot selection, timing, distance management, and fight IQ. He just has it all. He's a cheat code. There's basically nothing you can do to beat him. I legit only see this guy losing to a lucky punch, and again, he's got that ridiculous durability going for him there too.
It's comical hearing people these days say exactly the same type of statement such as yours. It's comical because the amount of people that feel the need for whatever reason I can't say, but to feel the need to say someone is the greatest of all time in their respective field of participation is just out of control. Everyone wants to be the first to say it no less. He's the best, she's the best, he's the GOAT, blah blah blah, it's just annoying at this point. Really, it passed annoying a year ago, now it's simply absurd. I don't really think it's necessary to point out that there's absolutely no possible way to prove your exaggeration as just that, likewise there really isn't any way to validate such things. Even an attempt is futile. It's worth pointing out that every man is the furthest thing from perfection, even in the best version of himself. Everyone is flawed, and everyone makes mistakes. It's the simplicity in such things that one may find the obvious answer that you, and millions of others all over the world choose to so easily overlook when making such statements. The answer is that inevitably Tom, just like everyone before him, as well as all those that will follow, is human, and due to that one fact, he is not without weakness, he is not without flaw, nor will he ever be. On any given day, Tom is capable of losing in a fight for any number of reasons. It's just that simple, and there really isn't any need to explain that fact further as there's not a need, and anyone that needs more information that that should probably just be chalked up as beyond help. That goes for Jon Jones as well, although I don't believe Tom would defeat Jones in the cage, that's not the same as saying Tom simply could not beat Jones because like I explained, of course he could. Would he, I don't believe he would, he could, I just don't see it in the cards at least not in the near future. But, I guess we may just get a chance to see, although nothing is really certain so....

He needs about 10 more title wins and then maybe, just maybe, also he already has losses on his record, Jones does not, who's the best tom has beat? Sergei and blaydes, that's it. All others are no names
@joeyyeoj4873 His success was LHW, Jones didn't fight any HW before Gane. Could he have beaten Velasquez, dos Santos, Werdum, Miocic or Ngannou? The Miocic fight has little value now, it should have happened around eight years ago. Also, I understand the sentiment that what happens outside of competition shouldn't matter, but no-one else would get away that history..
HW GOAT, yes. Impossible to become the regular GOAT at heavyweight due to every punch being a fight ender. There's a reason every division has 5-15 title defenses as their records, most of which consecutive, while 265 has 4 as the world record, with only 3 consecutive. But in my opinion, something like 5 consecutive title defenses at 265 is enough for GOAT discussion already.
IDC, I been watching UFC since day one. Im not even a Jon Jones fan. This Tom Aspinall "baddest man" or Tom the "best heavy weight" has to stop. Tom has fought exactly NO ONE. You guys said the same thing about Ciryl Gane and dude tapped in 90 seconds. Just stop it..........
Nobody said that about Gane at all. He was always seen as a talented but deeply limited fighter. And Aspinall had beaten Volkov, Tybura, Pavlovich and Blaydes in the time Jones has fought nobody and talked about fighting a 43 yr old Stipe. That’s 4 top ten opponents vs zero. This isn’t hype and Jones has to strap on a pair or just retire.
Aspinalls the best of the current lackluster UFC heavyweight top 10. Coming from a time when you had Cain, DC, Ngannou… he does feel like a bit of a b side.
Aspinall is the most naturally gifted fighter just like Jon this is truly going to be the best heavyweight fight in the existence of the sport on earth.

The UFC used to be the best vs the best, but since covid they've turned into a joke
. Undefeated mokaev got cut but Tony didn't
. Colby and masvidal kept getting undeserved title shots
. Stipe who's coming off a loss 5 years ago and has 0 wins over anyone in the UFC gets a title shot but Tom who's smashed everyone doesn't.
. Izzy gets smashed dissappears for 18 months and gets a title shot.
. If conor beats chandler he will be given a title shot.
I can keep going but you get my point

There' a fine line between confidence and arrogance, and Aspinall navigates that line brilliantly. With just a smidge of cheek.

All I really want is Ngannou vs Aspinall. I know i know PFL.
But come on. What a freak show fight of power and speed
Ngannou has Tom's power, but not his speed, durability, athleticism, fight IQ, shot selection, timing, distance management, boxing skills, kicks, wrestling, or BJJ. Tom chins him in the first. I'd love for that fight to happen. Both Dana and the PFL president have said they're willing to do a crossover fight. I wanna see Tom represent the UFC against Ngannou.
That would be amazing

Hey Mixed Martial Academic I've watched you for over 2 years now and you might remember me being one of your first patreons, It's actually insane to see the way you've grown and producing videos rivaling the quality of real UFC promotional footage. Keep up the great work
You're getting good at making these. Aspinal is my favorite current fighter. Great to see him succeed.
Tom Aspinall is the real heavyweight champion
Its interesting to me that the heavyweight division has a shortage of fighters compared to other divisions...and yet, it is arguably one of the most (if not the most) popular divisions for fans. UFC should incentivize heavyweights so there isnt a future shortage because nobody can beat a future champ.
Always been the case, even in boxing. Heavyweights are the top of the food chain
People just want to see the big guys swang and bang
Makes sense, the only reason other people are champions is because of weight divisions. The most dangerous fighter in the world is going to be heavyweight
There’s not a lot of people who are 225+ and choose to train in fighting, mma or boxing. There’s other sports for them, football and rugby being the main ones, and they can be multi millionaires damaging their backs and knees with some concussions throughout their life from tackles. Or the can make a fraction of that, and get nearly guaranteed multiple concussions yearly.
Its because in lower weight classes there is still an uncertainty, yes these guys are good, but people still think they could fight them and win
Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight are undisputed in the mind of the populus
Whoever is the Goat of heavyweight, whoever is a dominant champion in heavyweight, its the baddest man in the planet
Blows my mind how delusional dana is
I don't think he is delusional at all.. I think he has something on his own personal agenda $$$$ that is making these fights lately.. Probably on some financial ledger as he exits.. Still a pr!ck of the highest order..
He's a promoter. He's doing his job
It's all about money and advertising..
Dont think so, you must not know Jons career then
@@mistermain2277 What a career full of steroid eye pokes and robbery.

Let’s go Stipe! 🙏🏼
He certainly is a very humble man!
The disrespect to stipe is wild
I am always left so impressed by the quality of your videos. I really don’t think there’s many…. If any people that care as much as you do and put in as much work to give these fighters a voice and show their human side. I appreciate you
sometimes dana wants it to be a sport, sometimes he wants it to be his personal cashcow and the rest of the time it's his way or not at all
Agreed. There’s no way a fight promotion should have this amount of control
Great video, Tom Aspinall isn't just a great fighter, He's a great role model for the younger generation.

Aspinall is the one true HW champion of the UFC
This man is only going to get bigger stronger faster and better...what I going to enjoy is watch this man fight...and to see just how big he gets...because fighters as young as him don't get smaller...they get bigger and better...he is a fight that learns from each fight...
Class work as always mate, keep it up
Thank you! Cheers!

@@nonamenonamenoname8663 You're delusional and clueless. Ain’t that the truth
