Hello, I recently (september 2023) bought a not so expensive (400 usd) carbon High End frame from BXT for building a High END MTB. After a thorough analysis on Aliexpress, I decided to buy the BXT-MTB-056 frame. With expensive USA, Swiss and German parts like SRAM derailler, Rockshox jumper, DT-Swiss rings and centres. All good. All expensive. And of course my well favoured Chinese-made BXT-MTB-056 frame. hahaha!!! For this bike, I decided to buy and use the Magura MT5 disc brake set. These 4-piston brakes are among the best brakes on the market and I have fitted them on other Chinese-made bike frames from Airwolf and Trek Santa Cruz without any problems. When mounting the bike BTX bicycle frame, I found that there is not enough space (sideways) and the brake unit cannot be mounted properly. NOT ENOUGH SPACE. I contacted the seller and he confirmed that my Magura MT5 brakes do NOT fit and that I should use an entry-level brake, such as Shimano M200, instead. The seller says it is because of the paint on the frame!!!!! They painted the frame beautifully and I paid extra for that. And now it turns out the reason why my calipers don't fit on the rear end of my frame. At least that is what they say! Their solution is mounting Shimano M200 are LOW END brakes but they are not the level of how my bike should be. AND I have already bought the expensive Magura MT5 brakes. There is no mention on the BXT website that this frame is not suitable for HIGH END brakes like the Magura MT5. Conclusion: I am stuck with a bicycle frame that does not suit its purpose to build HIGH END bicycle. And the crooks from Aliexpres and BTX are not willing to resolve this matter in I pleasant way. I advise not to buy a frame from BTX. Kind regards, ton haas
Hi, your bike looks great! I am building the same from BXT, but have a problem with the wire for the rear meck.. I have tried different length of slack etc but the rear meck moves when the bike is flexed.. Its a 10 speed Microshift Advent X. What I think is strange is that under the crank there is only a wire sleeve docking on the main frame, not on the rear chainstay so the wire is always tightening up.. Did you experience anything like this?
You are right. Should not have an effect. Just Like turning the handle bar should not have an effect either. Does the base of the meck move as well? If so it could be the meck hanger which flexes. If not, is the outer cable tightly against the bottom bracket? If so, give it more room. See my bike at time point 2.40. If frame flexes, there should not be tension on the outer cable. If the rear frame pulls on the outer cable, the only place where it can give way is at the rear meck. Outer cable will be pulled out of its seating and this means a change in inner cable tension. In that case your meck will move.
@@mmb4063 your are right on the money... They outer cable is tight in the main frame, sits good in there in the "docking" but the other side there is just a hole and the outer cable housing dissapears in there... I can’t really see how to fix it... did you pull outer cable all the way to the rear meck?
Yes definitely not how it should be. My cable has outer hose from beginning till the end. And than it is really easy to prevent cable pull. You just need to pull on the outer hose cable at the bottom bracket to free up some additional length so it has a curve. Since on my bike outer hose is not fixed at the down tube entry, this is easy. Als cable cannot get dirty. Think you need to do it again. Which is unfortunate because it is bit tricky. Remove your fork for better access at front and start at the back.
I’m looking in aliexpress a frame that is very similar is a Lexon Spark looks really good and it seems like the brand is putting effort, do you know anything about them or do you have the link to this frame?
It is a different kind of bike. All mountain instead of cross country. More suitable for downhill and bike parks. More travel as well. 150/160mm instead of 100mm. It uses press fit bottom bracket instead of BSA. More difficult to install yourself. So it depends on what you want to do with it. I don’t know lexon so well. Seems new brand.
@@mikecampbell7558 I’m also wondering the same, I may for the Lexon Spark frame and hopefully I can review it, i loved the black design but there is 0 information out there.
Ik meen dat er zo’n 150 euro bij op kwam. Kleine 600 all in. Maar er zit veel bij zoals steekas bouten voor achterdemper en headset. Bij andere frames is dit niet altijd het geval.
It’s probably not super suitable for switch backs. But for regular trails it’s perfect. My HT is super compact (short chain stays and steep head angle) and this bike gives more confidence during cornering.
@@MB-ek1ub Thank you for the feedback! I currently ride a steep angle, 29", steep HT frame. I wander if I am going miss it if I buy a BXT 077 or 097. I won't be able to keep both bikes.
@@boyanvelev this 077 bike has got head-angle of 69. Which is steep by modern standards. So pretty responsive and not lazy. Very steep is probably only better if you ride down hill. Ps. I don’t recommend this bike if you are >75 kg.
Hi Brother, I am really curious on this frame. Does it perform great on trails? Do you think can it withdstand great impact from drops, jumps or trail bumps? TIA :)
Fron regulr XC use, yes. But when it become more narly (rocks/down hill) i would recommend enduro or trail bike. This is cross country by design (100mm travel rear and front)
@@mmb4063 so maybe for a lighter/smaller rider it would work well for single track with rocks, ruts, burms, drops etc? I'm 115lbs and have the option to purchase a BXT tomorrow. I do also have a specialized stumpy as well as a full suspension P3 DJ but curious about this bike as an extra.
Short answer: yes Long answer: there are alternatives from hongfu FM058 trifox MFM100 and others with attractive XC geometry as well, but they are usually more expensive, not all components are included (eg headset) and use press fit BBs.
@@mmb4063 cool thanks for feedback. You are lucky to live in NL where you have excellent cycling infrastructure and no one tries to shoot you for just riding on the side of the road.
On the site on aliexpress (bxt official store) there is a size table. I’m 1.85 meter and choose large. If you are at the border, like me, i would go for the smaller frame. This will be little more nimble.

Would sanding down the paint on the critical areas help?
Hi, can you send me the link to get the rear shock spacers?
Great review! Have I heard it correctly that there is a cracked in the frame? Appreciate to clarify if you found crack. Thank u
I made a slip of the tongue. There was a cracking noise, because the bolts of the rear shock needed to be greased. No cracked frame 😅
I need your help, where did you get the shock? I cant get the 165*22 specially the 22mm
I got the 168x38 monarch RL from www.bike-discount.de
193 euro ar that time (Sept 2019).

Around 12 kg with pedals and bottle cage. Not bad. With a lighter wheelset and tubeless tyres you can easily reach 11.5 kg

BXT is not a Chinese, is a Corean.
Not sure about that. Do you have a reference?
Just been chatting with BXT official store about changing breaks set up for a lefty and I checked and they are Chinese no Korean.
