Paint the whole world blue
And stop your tears from stinging
Hear the cavemen singing

Some fresher feeling
Belonging
Or just forever kneeling
Where is the sense in stealing
Without the grace to be it

Burning my bridges
And smashing my mirrors
Turning to see if you're cowardly
Burning the witches with mother religious

In water games
Washing the rocks below

In time with tear flow

Hasan Bal yeah? you dont say
I think he did.
he did ,,,,,dont know what he said ,,,,,but he said it
And great hair!!!
I adore Echo & the Bunnymen... I listen to this band every single day!! Funny though
... I find it difficult (almost painfully sad) to watch bands from this era as they look today... Depeche Mode..The Cure.. Tears for Fears ..
New Order ..even funnier: I'm basically the same age as they are now!! hahaha..
Thank you RUclips for capturing such a beautiful, wonderful place in Time, and freezing it 4ever.. .
.now, if you could only make me be 23 years old again .... LOL.... ❤😂😂🎶🎸
Wish I was 14 again!
My favourite song from this great band from Liverpool. Great music. Favourite CD. Porcupine 1983. Everlasting music.😁😊😂
Charisma from Ian Mc .This band were big on the Leeds uni scene .They had an English quirkiness combined with catchy arrangements. Good memories.
The soundtrack of my 1980s. Time goes by so fast.
Many songs and videos during those early years of MTV and I remember this song as both unique and exceptional.
Surprise, surprise!. Ian McCulloch is such a beautiful girl!
Lady Mac 😍😍😍
Saw them at the Kaiser Pavilion in Oakland several times. Always awesome.
The Bunnymen + The Genius of Anton Corbijn = Video Masterpiece
I never get tired of this film clip, or the bunnymen.
Class song but class group
this band were one of my guilty secrets back in the day..........I had been a northern souler going to venues across the country and this band - along with Everything But The Girl - blew me away. Such talent and their music helped shape the person I became post-Wigan Casino. The early EBTG were brilliant and still one of my favourite albums ever is Eden.
One of the best albums of the 80s... A pop treasure from a great band
Such an inventive, funny, stylish, gorgeous video. And with that song on top.
Was just jamming to 'Songs to Learn and Sing' in the car via CD...probably something most wouldn't understand anymore. BUT I know some of my other grew-up-in-the-80s peeps are out there who understand. Sounds like a slow song but still rules at loud volumes!
Had it on cassette in high School. Wore it out in my car
Great song. Lots of memories of the family and friends out in the pub and then over to the pizza parlour. Off to work Monday morning after on the moped. Great times
Always one of my favorite Echo songs, and Ian's Mick Jagger isn't bad
43 just last 4 days , classic sounds ..
This song always makes me happy.
Thank you forever for your often surrealist and always sublime poetry, music and videos.Loved you from the 80s and was so lucky to see you live in Brighton back then💋
Whoot! Going to their concert in August 2015 in San Diego! Last saw them in Irvine meadows in 84'
OH YESSSS!
What a awesome voice Mac had, he’s still great. The Happy Goth 🖤☠️🖤
I was fortunate enough to see them 2 nights in a row in San Francisco. I immediately fell head over heels in love with lan. I miss those days!
Wacthing from SP Brazil.
40 years of magical music (:
Kings of the intro...amazing band
so lucky to have been a teenager in the best era of music. so much variety. unlike today
All my generation is here commenting about this and what a beautiful era was this ❤
What an evocative and nostalgic sound. Although the song is from the 80s, I remember sharing this video on my Facebook account 4 or 5 years ago, I wish I could turn back time to those gone happy days.
We do not see this level of creativity anymore in music. Sad.
2:08 is totally a shout-out to david bowie's "boys keep swinging," love it
Yeah!
@Techno Master how good haven't seen in ages brilliant. 1.45 Beatles nod. Fellow liverpudlians
Ian loved morrison
Mac looks attractive as a man and a woman. he’s a winner
Bi-winning! ❤
He’s a honey but it’s his voice and feeling that makes him a winner.
Will Sargeant did OK too.
Yeah cool as fook
