I picked up an old Sears tuner off the side of the road that has the exact same issue on the FM band. The thing's built like a tank. With a bit of research lve determined it was built by Sanyo. It's been on my short-list for an opening up, a good cleaning, and FM tuner calibration. This vid might just give me the kick in the pants to quit procrastinating and getter dun.

Can I Tune Up The Shortwave Frequencies To 3000Mhz To 7Mhz ? If Its Posible, Can You Tell Me Or Show Me How? PLEASE ! And Yes, I Know Its Digital, I Don`t Even Know, If The Frequency Would Be Changed, It Will Show The Correct Frequency In The Screen Or It Will Show The Deafult Ones?

Could be pointer moving on the string, or the ceramic capacitor that provides a tiny bit of extra capacitance cracked and went open circuit.
When we were in a rush, we'd do the obvious - move the pointer on the string until it read the right channel. lol
That's probably what happened actually.
Dial cord wouldn't been it this time though because AM was indicating properly.

Not good idea to use a metallic screwdriver, should use a special screwdriver from BERNSTEIN adjustment tools.
