My sister sang this at her preschool graduation and I still remember hearing her singing voice for the first time, I wasn't at the actual ceremony when she sang it, but I remember her singing around the house getting ready for her rehearsals. After years, this song still bring me tears.
11 years ago, I was listening to this song while washing the dishes. I received a phone call. On the other phone was a crying voice telling me the worst news I could ever hear: „the most important person of my life, the one who brought me up, my maternal grandmoher, had suffered a heart attack, was in coma and doctors gave no chances for her to survive”. Only after some time I found out that actually when I received the phone called, my beautiful grandma had just passed away, but my family didn't know how to tell me. I was in my final year, struggling with my final exams. I was devastated. After these, tghe song wasn't in my list anymore. I was thinking that the song was the one who brought me bad news. I couldn't listen to it anymore.
The years passed, I'm a grown up married woman now. Surprisingly or not, I own my grandma's house (her choice) and living here with my own small and loving family (my choice). I've been going thorough a lot: I've graduated, I;ve been promoted, I met good people, I met bad people, I received a lot of love, I've been misrespected, I've been loved, I've been cheated, I've been cherished, I've been discriminated, I lost money, I gained money and so on.
Yesterday, after so many years, I heard this song on radio, while being in the car. And brought me tears and memories. Today, while having a forgotten cigarette and pouring a glass of wine, I'm listening to this song, in the memory of my grandma. I want to believe that 11 years ago, while I was listening to it, my grandma's soul was touching the sky. :)
What I want to say in short words is that life goes on. Even If we think that we can not move on and life is nothing but an awful song, we can learn the true meaning of love, leaning on the everlasting arms. We can touch the sky. Cheers!
