Love fishing the St. Mary's river from Drummond to the Soo a lot of amazing fishing for panfish, steelhead, lake trout, salmon and during the Mayfly hatch whitefish, herring and smelt. Got checked by a CO at the dock in Detour. He asked how many fish I had, when I told him to many to count he got very interested and was surprised to see a bunch of smelt. Got them just north of Long Island. Tight lines.
Nice. I was looking the other day to try to catch crappie. I kept noticing schools of fish in 30fow. They went from the bottom all the way up to 18 feet down. I was expecting crappie but pulled up a 13 inch perch. They were difficult to stay on top of because they scattered often. However every time I got above them they would bite. They were all big around 12 inches. They were squirting poo and fish jizz all over my boat. I was using a gold last master 1/8 oz. Jigging spoon. Tipped with a red wiggler worm. I kept 6 but let the rest go.

Interested in the rods. Would these be ok on Erie for perch with the occasional tank of a farm fish or 2-4# walleye hook ups?
