    You can pretty much go anywhere around your home & have great subject matter!
    I normally record the majority of my flights, although I edit out the biggest percentage of it, I do so mainly because once in awhile I capture something that otherwise I would have missed.
    Great tips, especially using the drone for gimbaled footage!

      That’s a good point! There are times when I will record everything. Usually especially if I’m trying to film wildlife since they can be very unpredictable as to when or where they will appear.

    Thanks for putting together this series of videos. As someone that has done drone video for quite a while now, it is nice to get back to the basics and refresh on some of the basics and to learn from others. Keep up the good work. Subbed the channel recently and will continue to follow and learn form your videos. The fact that your in such an awesome place as Alaska does not hurt but there is Beauty in nature to be found everywhere. Looking forward to watching more of your videos as time allows

    Tip #5. When I first got my Mini 2, I was wondering what it would do if I just held it and ended up with epic footage inside the house that I neither have the nerve or the skill to capture by flying it in the house. Not at this point anyway. Revisiting that idea here is definitely a tip to use in the field. Could strap it to my head while on a bicycle, - Cheers

    • @JakeSloan
      @JakeSloan 2 года назад

      Lol you could definitely strap it and use it like a ground gimbal camera

  • @Jess_Bishop

    I’d love to see a more in depth video on tip #2. I think it’s a common sense to want to keep the footage smooth, but in reality that’s very hard to accomplish. Do you have any tips to get that result? Maybe specific settings that would help with it?

    • @JakeSloan
      @JakeSloan 2 года назад +1

      I have more videos about how to fly but getting smooth really just comes down to lots of practice. Maybe I will do one in the future

      i've been practicing over and over withOUT using the sticks and it works! it forces you to be very patient and i feel you don't "flick" as much b/c there are no sticks...you slow down/stop much more naturally.

    tip#1 worst tip ever.
    what's wrong with extra footage? a 64gb card is like 10$. why would you not record everything? maybe you can use that as b roll. you anyhow cut and paste everything, so why not record as much as possible?

    • @JakeSloan
      @JakeSloan 4 года назад

      You do you but I would why record all the jerky movements (making footage unusable) while you line up and frame up a shot?
