    Rather than looking at the file size of the .rcp file, should you not be looking at the correspoding support directory, too? I think this is where the real data is held, while the .rcp just tells ReCap how to look at the support data.

      Yes - it's all connected. The RCP reads the RCS files that are stored in the support folder. Good luck if you want to mess about in there. I don't recommend it. Creating an Export is the best workflow for handling file size in Recap.

    when I try to export the point cloud from recap I get an error code

    Sergio, lo que estas enseñando en este video no sirve para nada. Ya que los ficheros rcp no pesan nada, 500kb esto no es nada, si lo bajas a 10k rendimiento no mejorará. Las nubes estan dentro de carpeta support en formato rcs. Y estos ficheros los que marcan el tamaño de la nube. Con todo lo que has hecho no mejoraste el rendimiento, y en el ultimo paso lo empeoraste al solapar dos nubes en el mismo proyecto. Ademas no se para que lo estabas uniendo a mano cuando los dos proyectos estan en el mismo sistema de coordenadas, y omitiendo registro ya te lo importaría solo...

      This is an example - with a file everyone can test with. Try it with a full size point cloud and then you’ll notice that it’s a very useful workflow. Otherwise thanks for the comment.
